I can't understand that either..baffling to me, yet they are going on about the Pars going bust for a measly 50k..

Sloppy journalism. Statements available on Bloomberg which state loans UBIG not going to new bank and rescue fund would use bankruptcy proceedings to recover any assets held against these loans. They could as I did find the status of the Loan from UB to HMFC which is we know is not at the new bank. This means the consider it a bad loan which will never be repaid. They will then sell Tynecastle to Recover some of the loss. This could be to ever buys what's is left of Hearts or a property developer.

It is not clear that they view it as a bad loan, never to be repaid.
We really need to establish on what terms UB are going to ask UBIG for repayment.
Unless the loan is called in earlier this will occur in the summer when the loan capital moratorium ends.
The lack of clarity around this will probably enable season tickets to be issued for sale without legal challenge for trading while insolvent being labled against the Directors.

A good journalist should be able to find out if the bank have already decided what to do.

Football is a funny business, the lender has every incentive to just ask for full repayment.
Hearts fans amazingly still don't realise this yet.
They will keep on doing high fives because every year and every million repayment will make them think was it worth it!
The children of Hearts children will be enslaved to Ukio Bankas.
Really feel sad for them but the moral of the story is you reap what you sow.

I have it on good authority that Peter Houston's first move as Hearts manager will be to persuade Jon Daly that his future lies with Hearts instead of wasting away the rest of his career in Scotland's lower leagues.

Not sure I fully understand the recent development and the reply from the temporary administrator ... Ukio Bankas is kapoot yes? , and saliuis bank have not taken on this security over the PBS therefore ub still have the security but are not functioning as a company any more. So who will demand that the PBS is sold and what will happen to the proceeds? Is it all dependant on ubigs survival or death or does it factor into the proposed sale of the club? ...... It will be a hard sell and their numbers will drop but they do have quite a loyal support and will probably shift a decent amount.

Their crowds have held up pretty well all things considered. That said, had we won 3 Scottish cups and had a good few top 3 finishes and rarely been out the top 6 in the last 15 years, I am sure our crowds would have been decent too.

The real test of their loyalty could come in a couple of years after some bottom 6 finishes, or maybe even a relegation.........

Besides which, if they want Romanov to sell they'd be better not buying the STs. Putting cash into the club at this stage will just put up the price for potential buyers, while starving it of cash could force a quick sale. Buying STs after the sale of the club would provide the new regime with funds rather than shoring up the crippled current one.

I wouldn't expect the yams to work that one out though.

Clearly decided it was a bad loan otherwise would have been transferred to new bank. If you read the statements coming out from Lithuanian rescue fund which are freely available on the Bloomberg website. They aim to recover funds from bad loans by instigating bankruptcy proceedings to sell secured assets. Anyone buying Heats will be paying for the palyers and the club name. They will have to buy the stadium from the adminstrator. Heart's other loans are to UBIG via UB but are unsecured. The Lithuanian state have froxen and will likley seize any remaining assets of Romanov as it is loans that led to the insolvency.

The rescue fund will look to maximise wht it recovers through forced sale. This may mean the stadium and teh club are sold separately or as a package.

Trying to get my head around their Debt and if Tynecastle is their guarantor? In theory Romanov hasn't invested any £ into the club, he has simply funded them thro loans from his bank. Similar scenario to Roman Abramovich at Chelsea. Surely now with the bank going under it is only a matter of time until they go into Administration, but they have no assets? Game over...

You'll find that Hearts actually DID build the new superstand, which was completed in 2011, as scheduled, just one year before the fully integrated tram network opened on Edinburgh's streets.

The reason it's hard to see this is because, in a sop to the traditionalists, it was cunningly disguised as the old asbo stand. The new stand is constructed on the same principles as the Tardis in Doctor Who. What looks like a cramped, rickety, antiquated death trap on the outside, is actually a spacious, state-of-the art affair with...well, you can read all about it on the link.

Hearts did this by applying their revolutionary systems of finance "we only owe it to ourselves" to the space-time continuum, resulting in big luxury for them, and jealousy for us hobos. You surely must have found it highly suspicious that 403,500 people (assuming away end is filled) could be accommodated in a 17,500 capacity stadium?

Not quite the same. A Lithuanian admin would be working for the Lituanian State who has just seen about £ 70 million of their hard earned pee'd up a wall by Vlad on one of his foreign toys.

I don't think it would be good Lithuanian politics to be giving a Russian crook ( alledgedly ) an easy time.

I don't really know how it would play out over here with a local admin. working on instruction of the Lith.Admin. but I would have thought they would be better off getting themselves into admin. before the foreign lot do it for them.

There are a lot of differences.

Taking the Rangers situation first, they are not out of the woods yet. The liquidators have still to investigate the transfer of the assets to Sevco at what appears to be an undervalue.

However, the main difference between the two is that Hearts' main asset(Tynecastle) is pledged as security to one of its creditors, which in itself is under threat of administration. There was no such security in the RFC case, which made it easier to transfer Ibrox.

The whole security/UBIG situation is the key here, and we aren't any closer to establishing how that will play out. My best guess at the moment is that the best Hearts can hope for is to preserve the club (however you define that), but be homeless.

There's merit in that. There is a perception that a "friendly" administrator is better than one who is imposed. That didn't work out with Craig Whyte, of course.

I reckon that, if Hearts make it to the Top 6, you might see them going into administration voluntarily, ie appointing someone themselves. That way, the 18 point penalty is irrelevant. (although other clubs would, rightly IMO, have a say about that).

If they don't make the Top 6, they may still circle the wagons. After all, that is probably their duty, given their apparent insolvency.

I'm not so sure they did. They needed a win to get into the top 6 before the split and they failed. The financial implications of that, and the points deduction should they (or UBIG) go into administration, are taking them one step closer to oblivion.

They are 6 points behind us and we occupy 6th spot. They have two games left and we have three. They need to win both and overturn an eleven goal deficit in the process. That is assuming we don't pick up any more points before the split. All that is ignoring any of the teams between us not doing anything to pick up points either. I haven't looked at the fixtures but I think all three things going their way are highly unlikely. I think it's fair to say they are bottom six. The only question remaining is will we be there beside them.

It would require them to overcome a 12 goal difference in 2 games and for Hibs, Dundee United and Kilmarnock not to win a game out of the 3 each that they have left.
That's a huge "ask" by any standards, even with half the referees giving them a helping hand.

To make the top six they need all of the following to happen:

To win their remaining two games
Hibs to lose all their remaining three games
The goal difference swing to be more than 11 (that's possible since Hibs losing would worsen our goal difference)
Killie to get no more than two points fron their remaining three games
Aberdeen and United to draw when they play each other and then lose all their remaining games.

They need 8 - maybe 9. Maybe less. If we lose 3, which we'd have to by at least one goal each time, that's a gd of 8 to overcome.

And we lost 3 by 2 goals each, very possible, they only need to up their gd by 5 or 6 ... depending on how many goals are being scored.

Well, they won't be in the top six. This seems to be informing the attitude of the Yams, who seem surprisingly downcast after getting that disgusting freebie. They really needed a win, and their failure to get one and make the top six is another nail in their coffin. That's why I couldn't get too upset about the goal 'decision'.

In the grand picture, we actually did a decent bit of damage yesterday. A defeat would have been a disaster and given them strong momentum for a top six finish and a relatively inconsequential administration. A win would have been nice, as it would have led to extreme blood-letting down Gorgie way. But a draw is a bit of a head-mess for them.

They all assume they are getting bought by some Scandinavian, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, Scottish, Portuguese (take your pick) consortium. They don't know who they are, what the deal is, how much investment will be made, who will own the ground etc

What they do know is that all of the debt will be written off and they will start with a debt free situation in the summer. They also know that the new owners, despite likely to be unknown foreigners are lining up a big name Scottish manager like Levein (chortle)

This will all be announced on Thursday or Friday this week, eliminating any threat to them for ever more and a major boost in advance of the cup final.

Anyway, it's been that low for ages, you just haven't been paying attention.

I was one of the people that voted they didn't want them to go bust. I preferred an option where they had to live within their means, while paying back all the debt they amassed in paying players they couldn't afford and we therefore had years of dominance over them on the park.

However, that was before I realised that Hibs aren't actually allowed to even score goals against them and that they only ever have players red-carded against us after the game's finished, taking away any fair advantage we should have.

Can I re-vote now?.

I don't think the poster wanted anyone dead so to speak. He wants Hearts "the club" to die and the Pink Wonga Dome to burn to the ground. I'm assuming with no one in it. For the record I'd happily go round and watch that myself, as it's just a big piece of old wooden ****. Barry was pretty quick off the mark on Friday 15th Feb to tell us that all was barry so presumably we'll get the same tomorrow.

As they've taken in ticket money for the cup final and the derby in recent weeks you would have to assume that there's enough money there to pay the wages. And they know fine well that nothing will happen to them if they choose to spend that money on wages rather than send it to the SFL and Hibs.

Last month they got £ 400,000 in brand new tenners from Chuckie Green just before wages day.

Of course the Yams never said where the money had come from, but luckily Chuckie cannot keep his mouth shut and the info. got out.

" Trading normally " ..........taking 20% off an agreed bill just to get the money 2 months early is not normal trading as I see it.

How can they get away with this week in week out.

If Dunfermline do a 'Rangers', what's the chances of no relegation from the SPL and Hearts taking advantage of the situation via administration?

They don't get relegated but start the following season on minus 18. That's a big ask.

I would rather they were wiped of the face of this earth and into oblivion.

Don't see what impact Dunfermline going under would have on the SPL relegation battle. The vacant space in Division One would mean another promotion from each of Divisions Two and Three and Sevco Pars entering Division Three.

And if the Yams survive until the end of the season with Dundee going down, they'd start 2013/14 with one third of this season's points deducted (currently 34, with seven games left). In a way, the better they do in the bottom six, the worse it is for them next season. If they win all their remaining games then they'd start on -19 points but if they lose the lot then they'd only be on -12. Either way, they've got to be relegation favourites for next season.

Would there be relegation if Dunfermline go bust mid season or would there just be no relegation from division 1?

The bottom club in the SPL is relegated. Just as happened last season.

The SFL will have their own rules.

We can live in hope but this has been going in far too long I really do wish they would just **** off and die.

I have quite a few yam ish mates and most are ****ting themselves, there are 2 others inparticular who think that Vlad is god and when he goes they are debt free and all will be Barry.

I hate the club for everything it is and stands for.

Their still in rates arrears etc to the council for 40 or so grand, still due Herriot Watt rent arrears as well as L&B police.

How can they get away with this week in week out.
I heard that last month the 1st team players got paid their BASIC wage and that was it.... The rest if the staff didnt get anything and were paid if anything just the other day. No sure if this is true but c'mon lets get the windup orders in.

I'm surprised at the council being due all that money and them not chasing it, prob too busy chasing pensioners for a couple of quid.

This is what i dont get either, never mind the multi millions they are owe, whys nobody pushing for this.Vlad didnt run a bank,he ran a money laundering company and he will get found out for that, just wish it would hurry up:greengrin

TBF, we don't know that action isn't being taken. I would assume that the credit control functions of all of these bodies are doing what they can. Court action is always the last resort and, being expensive, is something everybody tries to avoid.

Curious appointment,I wonder if there is a strong reason why they didn't employ a new member of staff:cb

There was miles better out there than the pisser to choose from

So what's the latest?

Are they going bust, or is it another in a long line of pipedreams?

One yam I spoke to on Thursday thinks they will end up with all debt cleared!

That's one way to look at Sevco Yams.

Minus Tynecastle I presume as that is no longer in his gift?
I doubt Vlad is in a position to transfer any assets anymore.

Romanov does not have the power to just clear/forgive the debt anymore...
