I'm not defending MacGregor as it mystified me why he keeps getting a game but how are we to judge Gilmour? He's hardly played for Chelsea. He needs some game time but starting him wouldn't be the way to go against the Dutch. Luxembourg maybe but not tonight.

He can only be judged when he gets on the pitch. We all know he’s got the potential to be outstanding, so get him as many minutes as possible to show us what he can do.

Much as I enjoy criticising Craig Gordon, not sure he could do anything. With those two Dutch players joining the wall it was past him before he even saw it.

He moved a tiny bit to the right, looked like he was anticipating it going that way and then realised it wasn't, by which time it was too late. When you see free kick from behind Depay, even though there's quite a bit of pace on it, you can see it was definitely savable.

Given they had an identical free kick ten minutes before it which was blocked he should have known where Depay was going and positioned himself better. To be in the centre of the goal behind the wall and not moving was imo very poor. Where he scored was the only place he was going to score and he should have at least reacted to that. Hopefully Marshall is back as personally think Gordon is not great and nowhere near international level. Would prefer McLaughlin to him. Gordon's performances against England in the 2 2 and the Slovenia draw at the end of the last campaign should have been enough to finish his career at this level imo and that is nothing to do with him being Hearts.

I was the other way round. I watched the first half and missed virtually all the second half. First half I thought was pretty good for a pre tournament friendly and pretty competitive. But friendlies are often like that, play a competitive team for 45 minutes/an hour then make mass substitutions which I guess gives players game time but more often than not ruins the game as a spectacle.

Pretty much how the England v Austria game went the other night. Wholesale subs in the second half altered the whole shape/flow and tempo. Not sure what a manager learns from this.

Budapest is the only host city at the Euros that will be at full capacity for the tournament. All spectators are required to return a negative test or proof of vaccination.

As long as you can do either of those then the authorities are happy to allow full capacity.

I'm assuming it's the same arrangement for tonight's match.

Yep Hungary have France and Portugal at home so potentially could take points though in the bits I seen v Ireland looked pretty average though you never know how coaches will be dealing with these preparation games some might use it as part of a more physical programme while others more about sharpening up.. Certainly going to be a very strange tournament with some teams potentially playing a lot of home games while others have none
