Yep, I get why people like to see Celtic and Rangers lose, I hate them as much as anyone but we need to see the bigger picture here.

Some might say it's defeatist but we're not going to win the league, we probably won't even be within 25-30 points of winning the league.

Last season we finished 4 points above Kilmarnock and 30 points behind Rangers. We need teams like Kilmarnock to drop as many points as possible. Rangers, sadly, aren't our rivals in the sense of where we are competing in the league table at the moment. Hopefully one day they might be but not just now.

There might be an inevitability about a two horse race but we might as well give them a wee run - especially while they have one eye on Europe.

Their game against us was their best performance so far this season. But it wasn't a game in which Motherwell were outstanding and Hibs were terrible. They managed two shots on target just as we did and the game finished a draw. Campbell and Turnbull played particularly well against us. They're very talented players that will soon go on to bigger and better things.

We aren’t going to be great every week. Disappointing but being angry is a bit much.

I seem to recall them winning at fir park a couple of times. Very tame start to the a son for well. I’d wait until the first round of fixtures are finished before deciding who will be at the right and wrong end of the table. Hamilton as usual being Hamilton. Same every club year. Great team spirit and get a result when they need it.Any team that can put a wee run of wins/draws will shoot up the table.

Strange tactics, as they’re a very skilful team with some great one touch passing, and all look comfortable on the ball. Even Connolly, the centre half is happy to take the ball at the back and take players on.

They seem to drop very deep and operate a kind of zonal defence which is very hard to break down and as you say, kills entertainment value.

If they set up a bit more offensively, they’d be a joy to watch! [emoji848]

He’s an employee of rangers so I’d expect him to say ‘we’, and on the greater point, from a rangers point of view 10 is far more important to Celtic than rangers, he’s probably correct on that. Rangers will pull up all of those things if celtic get 10, they’ve went on about 55 for a long time and that first title in 10 years for them will be bigger for rangers than stopping Celtic getting 10. Hardly groundbreaking stuff. From a Celtic point of view, 10 in a row is the be all and end all as it’s all they’ve went on about for years.

I think professional fouls are part of the game, and it is naive/ unrealistic to expect otherwise. I don't think he should have taken him down, because between the defender and goalkeeper they should have had enough between them to stop the player scoring from when the ball was hoofed forward.

There are undoubtedly circumstances where it it is acceptable for a player to take one for the team.

Playing a cynical game for 90 minutes every week is not to my liking.

Knowing when to take the appropriate punishment for a particular transgression is something totally different.

We've all managed to recall an instance when we wished Hibs had gone for the professional foul option. It's nearly 30 years ago but those scars run deep.

I would be disappointed in any Hibs player who would see Hibs lose points before being prepared to commit one particular foul.
