Very enjoyable game that. Both teams played well and some great goals
You mean the defender is a muppet for trying to nick the ball. Daft challenge right through Cavani’s left leg. Fabinho showing why he isn’t a centre half again.
Absolute rubbish. Never a free kick. The big lad dived.

If you can’t see Fabinho’s right knee going right through Cavani’s left leg then I’d suggest either Curry’s for a new TV or Specsavers for some spectacles.

No idea what Rugby league has to do with it, but you can’t trip someone up in rugby league either, or kick the back of their leg.

I get you are happy Oli has saved his job as the FA Cup is the only competition they can win now.

Ian Wright said there was contact but thought he was going down before it, which he wasn’t he was spinning his man. Shearer couldn’t have been clearer that it was a foul.
Why would I be happy? Strange comment.

sounds like someone’s hurting badly. Why not relax a bit, if united are as bad as you say you’ve nothing to worry about.

In you're opinion will they win either of them? I can't see it. If that lad who came on and scored the 3rd was to get a long term injury they wouldn't make top 4.

This season as well, there’s barely enough time between games to do much training and team building stuff will be non-existent .
Not even sure about Tuchel, he has a name as being an elite manager without really doing much, Dortmund where nice to watch but didn’t really put up a fight, PSG suppose he took them a bit closer to the CL than anyone else but the rest should be guarenteed domestically with the finance available.
Might get the best out Werner and Havertz but they’ll need to change to counter attacking team for that IMO.

Why would his pace matter more in England than Germany? He is a quality player, just not showing it so far for whatever reason.
He is no slower than guys like De Bruyne, Bergkamp etc and they are some of the best to play in that league.
He also had covid. Effects of that could be hugely significant.

He’s actually pretty quick as well, but he’s playing in a bigger team so other teams sit back and defend against leaving less space in behind, Werner suffering for it as well.

I cant see a club like Chelsea playing a player who isnt 100% fit let alone recovering from any effects of Covid. Sometimes a player is a good fit for with a Club and its style of play tactics etc sometimes it doesnt work, some players take longer to settle than others. I was a bit surprised Chelsea brought him in to be honest, maybe a new manager can gt more out of him we'll have to wait and see but he has made a disappointing start.

Tanguy Ndombele at Spurs was brought in the beginning of last season and was anonymous throughout the season looking overweight and nowhere near his £60m price tag.
This season he has been one of their best players. Moving to a different country and adapting your lifestyle can be difficult, but after a bit of time and confidence you can overcome those problems.
Havertz is still young and I expect him to flourish eventually in the PL.

Well, you're probably right on that but that doesn't mean that being out for 2/3 weeks with covid, and then whatever time it took him to fully recover hasn't effected his start. He's a 21 year old laddie, in another country, during a pandemic, who suffered from the virus. Its not hard to see why he has struggled IMO.

There seemed to be a small group of 3-4 guys up the back of the stand to the left (as we look) of the dugout ..then a few others dotted around outside of where the subs / officials are ...and some others behind each of the goals (may just be ball boys ) ....

Wycombe have had a COVID outbreak in the past few weeks. Whilst the club haven’t said who has had it, assumption would be that Horgan is one of them as he’s pretty much been ever present this season (and played well too).
People you can see in the stand opposite are subs, officials and the press - press on the right, subs and officials on the left.
I know what you mean about Uche but he’s been a bit of a revelation once he was fit. He really only does one thing but he does it well.
I doubt we go on to win it from here but we’re giving it a go at least.

82: CHANCE! Another Spurs chance!
Son plays a lovely one-two with Hojbjerg to dart in behind the Wycombe defence. His cross is cleared as far as Ndombele but he slices a woeful effort miles wide of the target as another opportunity goes begging.
15:25
81: HUGE CHANCE! Sissoko bundles his way into the box and squares for one of two Spurs players you'd want the ball to fall for, but Son leans back and scoops a glorious opportunity over the bar.
15:24
80: Spurs in a hurry to put this game to bed as Bale wins and corner and races to take it quickly.
Bale floats a ball out to Winks on the edge of the box but his effort almost clears the stand behind the Wycombe goal.

West Ham have the chance to grow into being a top side in England. The money they are saving on their stadium compared to the rest of the league is a huge advantage and it’s a farce it has taken them this long to take advantage of it. They’ll go from strength to strength.

The flag was delayed, so the West Brom players would presume VAR had told her to flag, which seems to be the norm these days. It is absolutely ruining football.

There does seem to a grey area. Linesmen are waiting to flag even when a player is yards offside and sometimes they flag before waiting for VAR. It has to be one or the other.

That was my understanding - hence why the linesman in the Man Utd vs Liverpool game last week was letting the play go on until phases had completed before raising his flag eventually.

That’s the case. Nothing to do with VAR. However, anyone saying ‘play to the whistle’ obviously hasn’t played with Lino’s before. The flag is effectively the whistle, hence why they are told not to put it up until the original move has broken down, otherwise they could put it up everytime and the ref can ignore it. If the flag goes up it’s human nature for the team to stop and the whole play should stop at that point.

I don't think that's correct

See my previous post. There examples in every game where a player is clearly offside, but the game continues until the linesman gets the nod from VAR. It should be either the on pitch decision or VAR, it can't be a mixture of both.

It’s not due to VAR. Lino is told not to flag until the move breaks down or halts. That’s why there is a delay. Problem today is she delayed, and then still stuck the flag up mid attack.

Whit a load of *****...
Great insight. Which part is *****? The fact the reason they’ve been told to keep the flag down until the end of the move is because players were often stopping last season and causing great controversy. This means players have no reason to stop. The Lino put the flag up early and the players stopped. As soon as the flag goes up play should stop, it’s as simple as that.
Remember a couple of years back when we played Rangers at ER, Lino put the flag up for a Hibs player incorrectly, while team stopped bar one player, missed the shot; Rangers went up the park and scored. It’s human nature to stop when seeing the flag go up which indicates an infringement. Ask any footballer and they’ll tell you the exact same thing.

Man City are really hitting form now. Is that now the third time West Brom have conceded five at home since fat Sam took over? Leeds put five past them.
Steve Bruce must be on thin ice now. He's another of those terrible managers, like Pardew and Mark Hughes, who always find work via the old boys network, despite being terrible managers.

It's their second 5-0 defeat since he took over, their league record so far is;

Honestly, I think he has got in over his depth this time. If you look at the sides he has saved in the past, they've had some real quality players and enough okay ones to make a decent 13/14 man squad and suit him. West Brom just don't have that.

If we could have maintained our early season form we would have had a great chance of second with the predictable Lennon implosion. Such a shame we had so many poor results particularly at home. Still over the last 6 games we have picked up one more point than them. Unlikely we will have enough but this season may have been our only chance of finishing second for a very long time.

I hope not and where would Ross be going in a westerly direction. He is not even in the ball park for a Celtic job. Lennon has now completely imploded in his last two jobs. He did well initially when inheriting great sides but no tactics and his shouty style only has a certain shelf life.

This. Amazed some still hold a candle to him.

Going to be a large gap between Rangers and Celtic at end of the season? Anyone know the last time there was such a gap in same league ?

Celtic won’t be much better next season. New CEO can’t take over until end of June, if they’re getting a new manager in it won’t be his choice, what structure does he want in the club? Players don’t want to be there, who’s setting the budgets? Who’s going to buy the players? Huge rebuild and they should’ve been getting it done early, unless they buy him out of his job at the SRU then they’ll be snookered.
