That's how I read it, Son looks like he's gonna try and pull McTominay back, McTominay tried to swat his arm away, misses, and in doing so Son gets savagely attached by his fingertip 😳

Ref should be booking Son for his over reaction. Only way to stop them trying to buy nonsensical fouls.

I agree with you on that one but the dramatics from some of the spurs players is shocking. No surprise though that the referees don't have the balls to deal with it.

VAR is encouraging diving and overreacting. Players are hitting the deck when dispossessed, in the hope of getting any subsequent goal overturned. It's changing results.

Not for the first time I stopped watching a game because of VAR. There is no point watching a sport where results are being changed because of crazy reviews. I fully go along with what Micah Richards said at half time yesterday: football is becoming unrecognisable.

They’ll tell you it isn’t the technology and is the rules though. Even though without it the ref doesn’t get summoned to the monitor and shown enough replays at slow enough speeds to ensure he doesn’t see anything other than a foul.

Another outrageous VAR decision. WBA "score" but ruled out as offside by linesman.
Go to VAR and you can see the lines being drawn and the WBA player looks well onside. However, he is sandwiched between a Southampton player and a WBA player who is offside. But because VAR can't draw a lie from the goal-scorers shoulder, they can say if he was definitley on/offside so go with the assistant referee - VAR is ruining football

I'm no fan of VAR but how can the cock-up today be blamed on it?
The linesman flagged and the referee ruled out the goal.
The VAR review was uncertain because of the camera angles. Therefore the decision was not overturned. Had the linesman not flagged the referee would have given the goal.
Without VAR, it would have been no goal. With VAR, it was no goal.

Benefit of the doubt goes to the striker and linesmen have been asked not to flag if it's close. If conducted properly, linesman keeps his flag down, VAR can't find conclusive evidence of offside = goal?

But that advice only came in with VAR. Without VAR, it would be down to the linesman's flag and the referee's whistle.
Logic suggests what you are saying but that is not how VAR works. Having said that the interpretations seem to be changing sometimes week by week. It is a complete shambles. I suppose that eventually ot will be sorted out.
Scotland have done well to avoid using it until the issues are sorted out.

Tell you what, as much as it wasn't intended by Marv in that way, he comes across as a bit of a prick on the interview with him on YouTube. I think it’s more fundamental than that. Rugby is a more stop start game and can cope with video referees, partly because all agree that deciding whether the ball has touched the ground for a try for example is very difficult.
Football’s flow and atmosphere is ruined by VAR and I don’t think tweaks can save it.
FIFA love it sadly. I almost want an absolute wonder goal at the World Cup ruled out by a marginal VAR call, to make clear their folly.

That's surprising, i thought the first half was very good. Liverpool could have won the tie had they had their shooting boots on.
I found the first half exciting, and wouldnt have called it anything else other than exciting.
That’s a basic error that really should not happen at that level. I’d expect the kit man to be facing the sack this morning.

Aye you’re right, some of the best players on the planet, be rubbish watching them play right enough.
I don’t know why people have to be so dramatic about things? The way Real Madrid went forward in that first leg against Liverpool was unreal, great to watch. PSG have an unbelievable attack with 2 players who’d walk into any team. Man City are a brilliant side, with talent in every part of the pitch, and Chelsea have been really good under Tuchel.
Don’t watch if you don’t want to, but let’s not pretend we don’t have the potential for some great football.

Falkirk in pole position, same points as Cove, +1 goal difference in their favour, Partick a point behind but better goal difference
Last fixtures on Tuesday are
Dumbarton v Partick
Montrose v Cove
Peterhead v Falkirk
Looking at the Championship, only things decided are Hearts are up, and Alloa are down
Some have 3 and others 4 fixtures to go, so any one from QOS, Arbroath, Morton or Ayr could end up 2nd bottom
In the play off places, Caley just outside, but have a game in hand. Raith favourites for 2nd, but have 2 tough matches to play, away to Dundee and home to Hearts
