POTY should go to the best individual performance over the season, irrespective of where the players club finishes in the league. Off topic but has a Hibs player ever won POTY up here? Last non old firm POTY?🤔

I can see the logic in what your saying but sometimes you get players who have been unplayable and had fantastic seasons without being in the side which wins the title. I just think it's a bit narrow mindness to rule out any other players who may have been exceptional but unfortunately didn't win the league
Sent from my G3121 using Tapatalk
Absolutely, and you have to remember that players like Fernandes and Son don't have the team around them that Gundogan has. More of the burden falls upon them individually.

That’s fair enough, I recall Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale being outstanding in the past.
I just can’t really think of any player out with City this season who deserves it, Fernandes obviously has a case but he has done zinch against the likes of City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

How much did they pay for Maguire? complete huddy and if it wasn't for De Gea it'd be 2-1

Had a quick look to see how Hecky is getting on and he’s doing alright with Sheffield Utd U23’s. Currently 2nd in the Professional Development League with 9W 2D 2L since he joined.

80 million. Yes, you read that right. Maguire and Lindelof are dog turd. Every team that challenges for trophies has a solid defence; those two are like Laurel and Hardy on the prohibition liquor. They cost United every week.

Inter have slowly been building a decent side for a while now. They were always going to be the side to take advantage when Juve finally ran out of steam after years of dominance.
Milan have overachieved big time this season, even their own fans have been taken aback by how well they've done but over the course of a full season you would expect Inter to pull away from them and Juve also to overtake them too.

Barca a shadow of the team they were. Obviously replacing Xavi and Iniesta would always be a long shot but they looked like they had nothing creative at all.
Relied on Messi for far too long.
Can you replace Xavi or Iniesta? And were they the reason for success... over Messi?

Probably a bit like our midfield of Allan, McGinn and McGeough, the secret to the success was the sum of all the parts. Yes Messi is the stand out but he benefitted largely from the work Xavi and Iniesta did on his behalf.

Keeping Thiago would've helped. It was a team full of top players in their prime, it wasn't just Messi until now.

To be fair he’s been doing it consistently for 4 years now. I think a lot of English sports hacks haven’t noticed because they’ve got an outdated snobbery about ligue 1, (which is the production line for some of the best players in world football), and they’ve had the Norwegian at Dortmund to look at instead. The only thing that can slow down Mbappé was COVID.
