Bottle merchants, as per usual. I say this all the time but if it was Hibs there'd be a media and socials pile on, hibsed it etc, but hearts mostly get away criticism free....

Inverness Caley
Celtic
Rangers/Raith Rovers

Wonder if the draw will be “fixed” to keep the Old Firm apart
What a chance for Caley/Falkirk/Ayr if they were to draw each other

Some observations:-

They kept going on about the new Hearts singing section (like they were the first club to do this). They were very quiet from the 2nd minute onwards 🤣

Attendance FC had to allow a full away support but even with less available tickets for home fans still managed 1800 tickets unsold. Must be an admin error or other important big team games coming up.

Neilson before the game admitted he didn’t want to risk Shankland given league games coming up. Sportsound we’re right to challenge this and ask “is this not the biggest game of the season” but that’s not how Robbie sees it. Cardigan wearers not happy.

They are bang average. They could screw up 3rd. We need to be able to take advantage.

Always liked Leeds. When I was 7 or 8 I had their yellow away strip back in the 70's. Had a white and blue stripe down the side. Loved that kit.

Hearts punted long and wide in the hope they got a break and in fairness they almost had that but for a cracking save from the celtic keeper

Folk on here go on about hearts having more quality than hibs and are way ahead in terms of player v player. I wont argue that hearts are performing better than us but £ for £ on todays performance there is not a hearts player that would jump out at me to suggest replacing a current hibs player, their keeper included

He’s an idiot. Making out every other club was miles away from Hearts (and the bigots). I’ll point out yet again that Hibs and Aberdeen have ONE less win than Hearts this season in the league. One! Everyone agrees Hibs and Aberdeen have had mixed seasons at best, poor seasons at worst. Yet the media seem to keep banging this drum that Hearts are on a different planet to everyone else.

Hearts are miles off the Old Firm. I simply don’t understand why these dullards in the media are lumping them in with the Old Firm or in a separate category all to themselves between the Old Firm and everyone else.

The reason they are lumped in with the old firm by the media is pretty simple. The media is full of ex Hearts players and managers who cannot help themselves with their biased views. Its actually cringeworthy, when listening to them creaming themselves with how wonderful things are down Gorgie way. The good thing for us is that we know they will be in for a fall soon enough, and its a long fall when everything turns against you. The infighting will begin , and the michael stewarts and craig leveins of this world will be left egg faced and turning on each other. Look at Aberdeen for how that pans out , with their splattering of ********s amongst the Scottish football media.

For John Hartsons opinion to mean anything to anyone is a mystery to me. He showed how horrendously ill informed he was during his world cup co commentarys. The amount of basic facts he constantly got wrong was ridiculous, his co commentator constantly taking the piss out of him for it , add in the fact that he sounds like a total bellend at the best of times anyway and you have a slavering ex footballer without any real knowledge trying to scrape a career out of football punditry. Only 16000 at Tiny for an SC Quarter Final? Canny be right. Where have their 1000000000000 supporters gone?

They knew they were getting pumped. I'm guessing plenty decided to save themselves the admission price and watch it on TV.

Liverpool still a total enigma. Beat United 7-0 one week (let's not talk about that) and then lose at Bournemouth. Weird season they are having; they must have destroyed loads of football coupons yesterday.

You’d think that the thousands supposedly on the waiting list for ST’s would have jumped at the chance of a day out at Tynecastle for a big Scottish Cup tie at home.

Probably just something else they’ve made up to maintain the bigness theme.

Watched most of the second half they were hanging on and just punting it long can't imagine Everton fans will warm to that style over time. In saying that they knew what they were getting with Dyche

Dyche will keep them up, he's used to the industrial football and keeping Burnley just above the drop zone over the years until their luck run out last season due to flogging their best striker to Newcastle, that's what cost them imo, will be interesting what he can do with expensive transfers coming in to Everton

In France, 30 year old Will Still is now an amazing 16 games unbeaten in ligue 1 with Stade de Reims, after a 1-0 away win over Monaco today, a team with a vastly bigger payroll. The only other manager to go unbeaten in their first 16 games in French football history? Thomas Tuchel at PSG.

Crazy thing is, it’s his first ever job, after being an assistant in Belgium, after deciding to get into coaching academically at the Uni of Lancashire, after learning his trade as a kid getting really good at Football Manager on the PC!!

Ridiculous story and Reims are now 8th, with on loan Arsenal striker Balogun scoring ridiculous goals for fun.

I think they are paying a fine for every game he manages as he doesn’t have his coaching badges yet.

I don’t know how long it takes most people to get the pro licence, but Reims were in the relegation places when he took over in September, and they’re now 8th which gets you 10million euros more than 18th place, so they probably think the fine is worth paying!

It would be some kind of consolation prize for them.

I don’t know much about Portuguese football, but in the last couple of seasons Benfica,Sporting and Porto have all dominated games that I’ve watched against supposed bigger teams from bigger leagues across Europe. Benfica in particular looked fantastic last season. Just like ligue 1, it would be great if the league could hang onto their best players but unfortunately English clubs will be circling and if they don’t work out there, so what? They’ll just join 20 or 30 other punts that didn’t work out, on loan somewhere else to one of the other European top twenty clubs.

While I do agree with you. Are the likes of Porto and Benfica just as guilty in hoovering up talent from South America, which they sell for big profit? The fans in Argentina, Brazil etc probably feel the same about being raided by clubs higher up the food chain in Portugal.

I do agree with you though, always enjoyable seeing teams from the lesser lights give the big clubs a bloody nose. Like the Ajax team of a couple of years ago, wish those teams could get a season or two more before the team is broken up to see what they could achieve.

If you'd given them the choice at the start of the season they'd would have taken the league.

It’s a good point about South America.

Forest scored with first chance, error by Newcastle.

Shouldn't be in premiership after the corrupt ref in the play off final. Still can't believe that was never investigated.

How the hell is that offside?

HH81
17-03-2023, 08:27 PM
That can't be offside as the forest player played the ball onto the Newcastle guy.

Ref had a shocker surely?

Tyler Durden
17-03-2023, 08:28 PM
Poor decision there surely. At the point that the Forest player plays the ball Longstaff is back onside - he made no attempt prior to that, to get involved.

Bizarre

James McFadden's usually got a pretty low bar for things he thinks are brilliant, but he's right for one - Arbroath's keeper and clearance at the penalty were incredible.
