Dessers finished that well.. but then quite strangely seemed to be doing a sarcastic smile at being flagged offside, followed by a gesture and headshake when VAR confirmed it was offside.

As if he doesn’t realise it’s just been proven he definitely was offside and still thinks he’s been judged wrongly.

Unless he is just anti-VAR in general of course, in which case I’m in total agreement with the laddie.

What a mess. Actually played well in the first half and good chance would have won the game if Sterling hadn’t been greedy and laid on a certain goal.

They’re in a bad way though. Connor Gallagher (for one) doesn’t look like a player good enough to be leading their midfield/captaining the team.

Same here, no idea what they see in Gallacher. I'm sure I read Villa wanted him but I hope that was just paper talk nonsense.

Seemed to go down well at Palace, but every time I see him play for Chelsea I’m never very impressed at all.

Maybe a victim somewhat of playing in a team toiling for form and results, but didn’t appear to be very competent at tackling or shooting, and nothing special passing-wise either today.

He’s not a player I’d be overly keen to go after if I was a villa man!

Meslier is a bit of an imbecile at times, deserved for lifting his hand but it's a long time since i saw a player fall down on the ground then do several rolls, even worse it was him that shoved meslier to start with.

Leeds can beat Ipswich x2 & Leicester but turn in very poor performances against the likes of Sunderland/Coventry/Rotherham

Agree re the multiple rolls but if the keeper just catches it and moves on, nothing happens. He starts it by bumping the player who barely challenged and then the other guy came in to it.

I hate when they use the years quote. There will have been dozens of them where they were in different leagues so it’s actually a meaningless number used for effect to big up the dominance and superiority. I’ll bet Hibs have never ever beaten Arniston Rangers. Like I said meaningless.

Huge credit, they didn't start off that badly but were undone by 2 set pieces and some bad defending. The heads could have went down but they kept going and have made lots of chances.

TBF did anyone see that 2nd half display coming, unfortunately one half of football isn't enough, they need to play like that all the time, also think Villa dropped their level too.Patrice Evra did. They didn't play that badly in the first half. They got hit by two (poor) goals from their point of view.

People just love to load onto united when it's against them. They were excellent against a very good side in the second half.

Man U are my English team, my lad used to have a ST there and I've been down a few times for games but not for a while since he got married and kids etc. They've over spent on bang average players like Anthony, Martial, Maguire etc and the situation with Sancho has been a farce, curious to see what Ratcliffe is going to bring to the club, he talks a good game.

I agree with what you've said. They've signed very poorly bar Varane, Casemiro and Martinez. They've got some genuine young talent coming through I hope they can nurture.

I just wish ETH got some slack. Howe all season has had "poor Newcastle with injuries" yet utd have been as bad.

They're not where they need to be or want to be but there's an opportunity to kick on. Fingers crossed.

And genuinely can't believe that VAR studio discussion comes down to solely football discussions. If it does, it comes up way short of the nit-picking that the rest of us are subject to.

So it was offside before penalty.

Another example of fans in stadium and at home having no idea what’s going on.

The sooner they broadcast decisions the better.

But in that case the ref was ask3d to review var and when he said pen the. Was told it was offside.True.

Kinda all lends itself to VAR having to be more mindful around these decisions when it's these two.

Some real ***** in there for periods to be fair mate. Typical scrappy derby.

Strange, don't see that. Being played at twice the pace of Hibs/Hearts match and much more competitive tackling/chasing etc. On a different level altogether.

Maybe missed it previously that it’s the norm, but they just said on commentary they get to hear what Collum is saying on VAR. Why isn’t it played for us watching on SKY ?

I don't believe for a second they checked the offside as quick as it appeared at the time

Look how long our one at livi took
