It has been said a million times before but the standard of punditry is abysmal. I’m watching the Sparta Prague game against Rankgers and they had McCoist in the studio. Listening to his prematch comments it seemed clear he hadn’t bothered his arse one little bit to actually do the slightest bit of research or prep, just regurgitating generic cliches about European football and ‘history’ between the clubs.

Sadly his ‘cheeky chappy’ demeanour seems to have infected coverage down South with him being used at the major tourneys now.

My point is not how good or bad Aberdeen are but simply how quickly people used them being a couple of goals up to take sly wee digs at our playing style and, by inference, our new manager.

There is a small but determined group of posters on here who are already laying their "I told you so" groundwork in case the new manager doesn't work out.

It's like a positivity vacuum sucking the life out of anything remotely optimistic.

That’s the problem with VAR it’s just someone’s opinion when it comes to a penalty decision so really no point having it in the first place, just go with the first opinion on the pitch by the ref.

Decisions on the park are always one person’s decision. With VAR you have a second person and it is then up to the ref whether or not he agrees with it. Should help clarify to the ref what he thought he actually saw in play. Seems to have done away with penalties for non existing trips.
