Barcelona 0 Cadiz 1 full time . Real Madrid`s league but real chance Barca won`t make Champions League - Atletico , Real Sociedad , Barca and 2 Seville clubs fighting for 3 places . Not sure how Villareal winning CL would affect situation if at all .

i didn't watch the first half but Warnock is absolutely spot on wtf did that referee give a throw-in to forest when the linesman has his flag up to indicate it was a throw-in to WBA, absolutely ridiculous refereeing

linesman said 4th official told referee to give it to forest, what a grade A plum of an official, the referee should trust the linesman who was 10 yards away, that 4th official should face some questions

Derby county get their well deserved relegation to league one
cheats don't prosper after all
Reading drawing 4-4 with Swansea after being 1-4 down sealed their fate
Hecky's wheel got stuck at Bristol city 1-1
looks like boring Bournemouth with that 8,000(whatever it is) capacity stadium might grab that runner-up spot
Good, deserved relegation.

This Liverpool team have reminded me of the Guardiola era Barcelona teams tonight - the passing and movement is unreal, and Thiago is a genius in the middle of that park - his football brain is so quick - he's found a 40 yard no-look pass instantly after the ball arrives at his feet. And that ball from Mane into Salah...yeesh!
I don't have any love for either side, but Liverpool have looked sublime tonight.

What a stunning side Liverpool are. From Alisson at the back playing passes top midfielders would be proud of (now THAT’S a World Class goalie  ), Robertson being so committed and electric, Thiago is a Rolls Royce of a player and that’s before you even think about the obvious ability of Mane, Salah and Diaz. Not a single passenger in that side. Cost way less than both Manchester sides - Klopp’s recruitment and management is exceptional. Whether they win 1, 2, 3 or 4 trophies they are undoubtedly a brilliant outfit.

Watching Liverpool does make you wonder about getting a Hibs team like that. I don’t mean in the best in the world sense, I mean the intensity.
Every Hibs fan will accept defeats, passes not coming off etc but if we had a squad who worked and pressed like that the fans would get right behind them.
I think that’s where our lack of pace effects us badly, we’re slow closing down and we’re slow on the counter and offer little threat.
Teams in our league like Livi and Ross county play with a direct and intense style, a club like ours with a bigger budget should be able to combine the two to a certain degree.
Easier said than done though.

The biggest telling numbers are possibly the total spend at both clubs since Klopp arrived.
Man U spent over 800 million on players
Liverpool spent over 400 million on players
Man U net spend on players in that time 600 million
Liverpool net spend on players in that time just over 100 million
That's a stark contrast. The recruitment and business model clearly far better at Anfield. It's dependent on Klopp but it shows what can happen when the recruitment process is right at every level.
Comparing City spend to Liverpool...they're almost as bad net spend as Man U but obviously with a far better return. Its mental money though 💰

Yes and they haven’t spent huge in net terms. Selling Courtinho for 100m plus was good business. Salah cost around 35m, Thiago around 20m and they’ve just bought that lad from Fulham for 5m. Their back room system is very impressive in targeting and acquiring players. Compared with Everton who have spent a fortune on dross with no discernible system

I know you are massively anti-United, but that's just nonsense. The treble team of 1999 and the United team of 2007-10 was much better, IMO. The latter squad of Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra etc was sensational. Was it thirteen titles in about twenty years? They were absolutely not much better. They were good, but they did not beat teams like this Liverpool side do.
United won the title in 99 with 79 points. Liverpool have 76 with 6 games to go. If Liverpool win all their games they'll have a higher tally than United ever got. 79 wouldn't get you near a title now.
United scored 80 goals that season. Liverpool have already scored 83. - 83 is also more than United ever scored in their 3 title wins 07/08/09.
United conceded 37 goals. Liverpool have only lost 22.
There is every chance Liverpool are gonna be sitting on as many CL wins in 3 years as United managed in Fergies entire era.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I totally disagree. This Liverpool team is excellent and Klopp is a tremendous manager, but you have to do it over the long term, which they are yet to do. Let's see if they can keep doing it year after year. Ryan Giggs won thirteen titles at United, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes eleven each; these Liverpool players have one. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE. Maybe not. Probably on some surfaces though - Nadal on clay has been without peer. The points tallies though for Liverpool and City in recent times demonstrate a consistency and quality that in unprecedented in a way trophy haul cant illustrate alone. Whoever finishes second again this season will still have done more than enough to win it most years. That's the point being made, these are exceptional teams and exceptional times. City and Liverpool, excellent as they are just now, are nowhere near that great Barca side. They were something else and the best I've ever seen.

Come on now :greengrin
The Barcelona team of that period was the best club side in living memory, just amazing. How many Champion Leagues has Pep won since, and how much money has he spent in that time?
The current Liverpool and City teams would never get the ball off that Barca team.
Most of the evidence suggests that this Liverpool team would beat the best united teams of the 90s and 00s.
fergie’s best united teams of the 90s and 00s would probably have beaten the best Liverpool teams of the 70s and 80s.
the best Liverpool teams of the 70s and 80s would probably have beaten busbys best united teams of the 50s and 60s.
and so it goes. Time goes on and standards improve. In another decade and a half these Liverpool and city teams will be eclipsed by something else. There’s nothing more certain.

They don't. I recall United winning the league by miles. I think it was something like twenty points in 2000, for example.

What evidence? There is none. It's just hypothetical debate, the type we all have down the pub. Here's evidence: Ryan Giggs thirteen league titles. When a player from City or Liverpool can show those medals then we'll talk evidence about great teams
As Graeme Souness regularly says, "show us your medals and I'll show you what I won". He won quite a few.

91 points. So less than Liverpool and City have each managed in recent years. Liverpool finished runners up with 97. Its just easily better.
City with multiple streaks of 15 wins in a row. Liverpool this season have had 10 wins in a row. They had 18 wins in a row, and 26 wins from 27 games in their title winning season. United never achieved anything like that.

But they do. 90 plus points each looks on the cards for both again for the third time. City won the league with a record 100 points in a season Liverpool had 99 points. 99 points would have won the league any other season in history.
Its not about the gap its about the tally. And the tally from both of them at the same time. Man U are currently sitting with the 6th highest tally ever on 92. You can guess it will be the 8th highest tally ever in a month's time. With 6 of the 7 highest scores above it from Liverpool and City.

Bingo, which is because the wealth disparity between the richest and the rest is wider than ever: petro-clubs such as City and Chelsea. City were nothing before the UAE government bought them. Liverpool, on the other hand, are an historic club with a history of building great sides. They are true historic rivals to Manchester United, which is why all United fans want City to win the league.

I think there's something to be said for this. The last couple of seasons in the EPL has been akin to La Liga down the years, with two clubs miles clear of the rest. They are excellent, but I don't see much quality beyond them now. Chelsea, United, Spurs, Arsenal all look average at best. I don't think it's the best EPL ever in terms of strength in depth.

It does. Man City had to amass 100 points to win the league because the 2nd side amassed 99 points. That's unbearable competition levels of the highest standard. Chelsea weren't far behind.
The SPL had a couple of points between 4th and 10th the week before the split. Technically very "competitive" if its just about the spread of points. But look at us, hinging around the top 6 like a drifting vessel until the last minute because everyone else was as poor.
This is quality of competition being spoken about. The standards being set because it is essential to be almost perfect to prevail.

Nothing against Burnley but you do feel they are operating at their absolute limit. Clubs like Everton and Leeds, you feel there is potential for real growth and therefore the potential to add something to the league in the future. Look at Leicester, who were a yo yo club fir years and are now an established top half of the table side.
Could Burnley ever be a club like that? Maybe slightly elitist but that's the truth.

The old too big to go down argument is being banded about regarding Everton but by goodness they are the architects of their own downfall. The money they have spent is remarkable. They continue to get their recruitment badly wrong on a number of levels. Burnley may be at their limit but if they end up surviving they do so on merit and without of the crazy spending of Everton.

Think Killie fans might hate Beaton more than us.
Do Hearts still owe Arbroath some money for Andy Webster? did they agree a payment plan that's still got time to run😀

This is one of the worst refereeing displays I've seen in a long time.
How did the Arbroath player escape a booking a few minutes ago?

Beaton has been diabolical.
Fraser Murray is the only Killie player who's turned up. Hopefully those who still want McInnes for Hibs will have changed their mind after watching that!

It looks like they're installing a new wheelchair platform for home supporters.
The away end still has the disgraceful dugout set up so it remains to be seen if away disabled fans will be treated equally to the home disabled fans.

Not much a game in terms of football, but decent high stakes drama all the same.

Decent enough watch but both teams are pretty poor. Killie probably have the money to improve if they go up but Arbroath would be straight back down. Fantastic achievement for them if they do it though.
No words for another look at me performance from John Beaton.

Yeh, they seem to have portacabins where the top tier used to be. Roof looks like it's been lowered as well. Used to be a mirror image of the away end, but that's not the case now.

The commentator said that, if Arbroath win tonight, they have won the league. As it stands it’s 65 to 63 points. There’s another game to go, so these positions can be reversed. Am I missing something? Probably, I suppose. :greengrin

That is my thoughts too. Beaton is horrendous but often there is clear favouritism for a team thoughout a game. I'd be checking betting patterns for every game he officiates

A win for Arbroath tonight puts them two points ahead with one game left, they definitely can't win the league tonight they can only lose it.
