One of the Hibs experts on Keekback ,who supposedly has an in at The Rangers posted earlier today that he has a friend who is an ex teammate of Jack Ross who was telling him that Jack Ross told him that Hibs are in a very bad way, meat and drink for the obsessed overby i suppose, Dingles R Us would be a better name for Keekback!!That's it then, we're finished, an insider at the other club that went bust has access to all the key information at Hibs, but obviously never seen it coming at his own club the now defunct Glasgow rangers.

Just posted this on the Legal Challenge thread.
This needed to be copied for all to see. This needs to be circulated to all - a perfect summary of where we are at the moment. Scottish Football is in meltdown all because of one person and her incompetence.
That Leckie piece is excellent. I feel a statement coming in response :agree:

Not for the first time that is a fantastic article by Bill Leckie and to me a totally accurate summary of the shambles.

Bill Leckie gets it spot on in his piece in the Sun today.

Hopefully the arbitration panel see it the same way. This is the most sense I’ve read from anyone in the media regarding this whole shamblesLeckie gets it spot on, I'll be using this article when I'm asked down here to explain how Scottish football got into it's latest mess.

i particularly dislike the insinuation that their sacrifice was greater than others. They demean they battalion, their club and themselves when they do so
There was a shinty club from up North that was decemated BBC Scotland featured a play that was written about them. hearts were not the only ones impacted. And as we know other football teams were impacted. A big part of a generation of Leithers were wiped out in the Gretna rail disaster. All loss of life in such circumstance is tragic.

Yes 10,000 seasons is approximately £4 million in income. We must be in a bad way. Then there is the shirt sales...
It's actually nearer £2.5 million, but your point is still valid.

Craig Gordon?
Tom English and the other maroon sycophants should be challenged to respond on this and the informative article on the BBC website about the huge challenges in scheduling the fixtures this season.
Any hurried reconstruction that increased the number of top flight games was always a nonsense.
So what Hearts wanted was to cancel relegation and promotion. The questions they have to answer are these:
1. If relegation is so unfair, how is it less unfair to deny Dundee Utd promotion?
2. If you cancel relegation and promotion how on earth can you still say that Celtc are champions?
3. Given that the league rules have been implemented as usual, relegated clubs are already compensated with parachute payments, and all clubs have been severely impacted by this crisis, on what grounds can they possibly claim additional compensation?

I'm aware this is an essay, but nevermind!
It’s come to the point where I feel I can’t stand by any more. A reality check needs to kick-in at some point here.
At the time when the league was suspended, Hearts were bottom. They were beaten 1-0 by St Mirren in a game which the vast majority of Hearts supporters, and everyone else, had labelled as “must win”. Hearts didn’t win this game, and were therefore four points adrift at the bottom of the table with eight games to play. Hearts had won four games all season. The performance at St Mirren was described variously as “meek”, “insipid” and “lacking threat”. Hearts nearest rivals for relegation were unbeaten in their last five home matches and had kept clean sheets in four of those.
Hearts supporters shared the view that, from a sporting point of view, they were the worst team in the league. On 14th March, under the title of “At What point Did You Think Our Season Was Doomed?”, various posters on JKB acknowledged how poor Hearts were. Saughton Jambo, who has recently been noticeably vocal around fairness with regards to the Court of Session case, pointed out “This is worse than the 80-81 season [when Hearts were relegated]. We had an excuse back then... we don’t now”. Stan pointed out that “Going 3 down to Killie after the break … was the last chance to turn the corner and finish the season well”. Famous 1874 said that “It’s hard to say when we were doomed as we’ve been s***e all season bar a handful of results”. In a poll on the 14th March on JKB, 12.8% of Hearts own fans acknowledged that they deserved to be relegated.
From a sporting perspective, Hearts were the worst football team in the league. In the match thread following the St Mirren defeat, the overall mood was disappointment and acknowledgment of how poor a team they were. In that match thread, Fozzyonthefence noted prior to the defeat “Lose on Wednesday and we’re down. I think you’re the only person on here that doesn’t think that” in response to a poster suggesting they could stay up. JimmyCant pointed out that “We’ve got 5 key games left … We’ll need to win 4 out of those 5. That’s becoming a big ask the more you look at it.” Bear in mind, this is a Hearts team that had won four times all season.
On sporting merit, Hearts deserved to be relegated.
There is also the worrying trend emerging around Hearts supporters expressly hoping for negative outcomes for other clubs whilst at the same time becoming noticeably vocal around the concept of fairness. There is the startling example of the post on the aforementioned St Mirren matchday thread of a poster highlighting how funny it would be to beat St Mirren, sending them bottom, and then for the season to be called due to COVID19. I’m fairly certain the poster in question has had this particular post copy/pasted several times, and so I’ll spare them the reminder of it. This schadenfreude has now been replaced by hoping that other clubs go into administration, seemingly based on the assumption that they “voted against Hearts” in order to relegate them.
Throughout various threads, numerous assertions have been made as to which clubs people would like to go into administration. The thread titled “Administration” from 26th June notes that some fans believe that “quite a few” will suffer this fate and that Hearts should “Get that interdict served ASAP”. Amongst others, Dundee, Hibs, St Mirren, Ross County, Hamilton and Albion Rovers are all named as clubs that posters hope enter administration, a process which results in numerous job losses and can end in financial hardship for ordinary employees. It’s noteworthy that several of these clubs were Hearts rivals within the bottom six of the league.Thank goodness for the few comments of common sense on such matters, notably Sassenach, who said “I've suffered admin events … It's horrible, and I wouldn't wish it on any fellow football fans”. Some things surely transcend sport.
The matter of finance also comes into play in issue. Hearts suffered a previous administration event, ultimately leading to their relegation in the 2010s. This was caused largely by financial mismanagement. Within their list of creditors, Hearts included fellow football clubs Ayr United, Livingston, Musselburgh Athletic, Stenhousemuir and Rangers. They also owed monies to a variety of public bodies, including the City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Water and Scottish Police Authority. There are no winners in administration events. Supporter boycotts of all clubs who voted against Hearts league reconstruction proposals have been widely mentioned online.
To a significant extent, supporters of other clubs (the Pie & Bovril forum is a marker of this) do sympathise with the situation in which Hearts currently find themselves, but many have expressed a significant distaste for the sense of entitlement being displayed. Under the JKB thread of “Wigan Go Into Administration”, posters note that there may be “decent freebies to be had” and that this is “karma for Webstergate”. The irony and understanding of the concept of karma and justice for perceived previous wrongdoings is an interesting one.
Similarly, the suggestion that Dundee United are a target of Hearts fans’ dislike appears to be an interesting perspective. Taken from the thread last week on JKB “I Used To Post On Here About Liking Dundee Utd”, Salad Fingers notes that he/she “recently developed a strong hatred of them and their fans”. The supposed crime committed by Dundee United is defending themselves and their promotion in the Court of Session and being asked to pay £50,000 for the privilege.
The thread posted this morning on JKB titled “Merging Clubs” highlights and reinforces the prevailing sense of entitlement amongst posters on the site, perhaps representative of the wider Hearts support. The assertion from Space Pirate that there are “far too many wee diddy clubs” and that clubs should merge underlines the contempt in which other clubs in Scotland are held.
As it stands, the hugely successful Foundation of Hearts brings circa £2M into the club each year from fans and it has been revealed that James Anderson has acted as a benefactor over recent times. During this time, Hearts have spent £17M on a main stand within Tynecastle and this is yet to be fully completed. During the recent Court of Session case, various figures of compensation have been raised and noted, both on JKB and within the Scottish media. It has been suggested that Hearts are seeking compensation and damages in the region of £8M.
Following on from the Court of Session hearing, Hearts supporters are seemingly painting the club, and Ann Budge in particular, as champions of justice, noting that there is a crucial role to be played in fighting corruption. Indeed, it has been suggested that Ann Budge previously stepped down from her role on the SPFL Board as she wanted to challenge the corruption that she saw. Reporting of the matter would seem to indicate otherwise - https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts-chairwoman-ann-budge-voted-spfl-board-583624
Throughout this process since March, there has been much play with regards to revisionism. The term relegated has been replaced with expelled, for instance. Interestingly, manager Daniel Stendal’s contract reputably had a clause allowing it’s termination in the event of relegation, as confirmed by both Ann Budge and Daniel Stendal. This clause was enacted. The tone and portrayal of Ann Budge has shifted too. Compare the descriptions with regards to her perceived leadership skills that were expressed on JKB during January and February to now.
Before Hearts continue to fall further down the rabbit hole of blaming other people, clubs and institutions, perhaps the blame needs to lie closer to home.

The problem here is that someone is trying to talk some sense into the maroon balloons. A truly thankless and pointless task.
The only response to Hearts is to stick your fingers in your ears and say LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU over and over until the sound of their bleating fades away. It will eventually - the top flight will kick off again soon, we will be back to talking about football, and no one will miss Hearts very much.
The noise will increase again when it’s semi final time, but all we can do is beat them and send them away with new grievances to complain about.
In short: f*** Hearts, I’m bored of them.

I thought this part of Bill Leckie's article really sums it up...
--
"As if this wasn’t heavy-handed enough, Budge then nicked Robbie Neilson from Tannadice as her new manager — a hefty investment which, along with the deal to bring Gordon in from Celtic, is an almighty boot in the stones for every employee forced into a drop in wages when Budge pleaded poverty."
"I know Jambos fans will be sick of reading this, maybe even as sick as I am of writing it, but it has to be put on record that, despite dominating the headlines for pretty much all of these 115 locked-down days, their club have produced not one positive, winning idea."
"Good God, even when the hugely-generous James Anderson offered a donation of millions to make sure no clubs went down the pan, all Budge had to do was introduce him to Neil Doncaster and let them shake hands, but even then she managed to turn it into a fight."
--
Funnily enough, we've been saying the same things on here for weeks.

This is a really good point. All my jambo mates are hacked off that they couldn’t finish the season, don’t like the way SPFL have gone about it but always counter this with “we only have ourselves to blame”. Kickback is a haven for complete idiots and multiply that by lockdown factor it’s a cesspit.

With the release of the SPL fixture list and still nothing on the championship, it underlines what a desperate situation Hearts are in. The really did pick the very worst time to finish bottom of the league.
Imagine if it was Hibs, not knowing when, who or even if you'll be playing. Not wonder they are confused and angry.
You have to have a laugh and look at the positives though, as difficult as it is. If Championship football doesn't start till October Hearts will have gone (at least) seven months undefeated.

I for one know that there are a large number of Hibs fan members of Kickback, who have been posting quite innocently for a number of years, mostly about transfer talk, in order to get up their post tally to over 400 in order to avoid suspicion before starting the wind up just at the right time. That time is now. I hope no hearts fans are reading this and start to get really suspicious about fans with an approximate post count of 400.

I was thinking about this. Premier league clubs will have matchday costs but no matchday income. Sure, our season ticket money is in and we have that but they will have to provide us, at some cost, with a viewing experience via media of some description.
Championship clubs will be sitting with their season ticket money and no matchday costs until October so ironically will actually save money, won’t they?

Hearts' expenditure is a lot higher than that of Hibs.
We'll have matchday expenses but their monthly outgoings (especially inflated salaries) will probably still be a lot more than ours.
We can also budget based on the income from the new Sky deal, knowing that we'll receive a lot more in TV and prize money over the course of the season.
They'll have to resort, as usual, to donations from fans and benefactors, instead of living within their means.

Hearts will only have 13 home games this season but they have guaranteed their fans 18 with their season ticket and have said that will go into next season if need be. It means their season tickets next season will be discounted big time for existing season ticket holders.

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/hearts-captain-steven-naismith-savages-scottish-football-self-interest-and-spfl-debacle-2908329
Hearts captain Steven Naismith has branded Scottish football a “laughing stock” following the fallout from the termination of the 2019/20 SPFL season.
The Scotland international is set to drop down and play in the Scottish Championship for the first time in his career.
Naismith has been far from impressed with what he has witnessed since March, from the SPFL's resolution and the Dundee vote controversy to failed league reconstruction and a legal challenge.
Hearts and Partick Thistle’s case against relegation set to begin in an independent tribunal as part of the Scottish FA’s arbitration process next week.
The 33-year-old has compared the situation to a “comedy strip” when trying to explain it to people involved in English football, and how it is a “laughing stock down there” .
“It’s been the darkest time since I’ve taken an interest in football," he told the Scottish Sun. “It’s shown up a lot of bad practice.
“The whole thing is ludicrous and a scandal. The mentality of a lot of clubs in Scotland is self-interest. For the last ten years Scottish football has been getting lower and lower in quality.”
He added: "It’s embarrassing and the way things are set up is ridiculous. You’ve got a structure that doesn’t work."
Naismith, who feels there are too many professional clubs in the country, has called on Scottish football to step out of the shadow of England and make changes which set the game on its own path.
"We’re never going to be the same as the English leagues and have the same backing, so stop trying to compare,” he said.
“We need to build something that’s different, generates good quality young players coming through academies, which will give players’ better income and is competitive year on year.
“It was such a good chance to try and build some foundations to project Scottish football in a new light but it was a missed chance again."
The player has little faith significant changes will be made, noting “there are too many people who love where they sit and have this ego of where they are”.
Even more so with relationships between clubs at an all-time low.
“It’s ironic you’ve got clubs saying they need to try to come together to pay for these legal fees," Naismith said.
"A month ago they voted to punish other teams for a competition that wasn’t even finished. Now it’s got so messy and gone to legal arbitration processes which has left club relationships up in smoke.
“Everyone is pointing the finger at each other."

Perhaps Steven Naismith could answer this question: in what way does a 14 team top flight achieve any of the changes he wants to see?
I’d love to know.
Personally, I'm laughing at English yo-yo clubs like Norwich who pay millions of pounds in wages to a player who's not good enough to get in their squad and who then shafts them for an extra £40k at the end of their contract in spite of having a new club to sign for.

Ann Budge has a lot to answer for due to her creating and repeating this line in the media simply to save her own bacon. Hearts fans are blaming everyone apart from her. They want to see other clubs suffer because they've been taken in by her deflection. She is a toxic entity in Scottish football.

I wonder what Naismith’s opinion might be on players being paid £6k per week to make 21 appearances and score 5 goals for a relegated side.
Enhancing Scottish football?
Will similar end product in the championship help or hinder Scottish football?
He’s trying to get the fans back onside with his gob, as his boots have been struggling.

Naismith:plays for the worst team in the Prem over a period of 18 months.
What does that say for the career of the wee runt?
So I take it he’ll be brought before the authorities for his comments??....

Personally, I'm laughing at English yo-yo clubs like Norwich who pay millions of pounds in wages to a player who's not good enough to get in their squad and who then shafts them for an extra £40k at the end of their contract in spite of having a new club to sign for.
To be fair, Norwich aren't really known for that at all. Actually a very well run club and have been for years. Naismith is a rare mistake from them.

I get that they need to protect their relationship and don’t want to make the player look stupid.
If there’s a clear contradiction though, either ask them to explain it further or if they’re too stupid to be able to do that then don’t print the contradiction, leave that part out.
Shouldn’t be as simple as asking players for quotes and just putting it to print without question.

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/hearts-captain-steven-naismith-savages-scottish-football-self-interest-and-spfl-debacle-2908329
HTF an ex Rangers player with an EBT can come out with that complete garbage is quite simply staggering.
“It’s been the darkest time since I’ve taken an interest in football,"
Just get tae you moron

Berra fits the Neilson mould of shelling the ball into the flanks so no surprise there really.
I do think they'll try and do what they did under him last time and bombard teams early, grab a goal and draw them out, having to play more forward than their game plan, giving more space to allow them chances to rack up decent scores.
Tbh our biggest drawback in Championship under Stubbs was not getting defensive teams to come out from their rigid two banks of defense, Neilson does understand that but ultimately its not a long term solution imo.
That said after their parting of the ways leading to poor outcomes for both I'd be surprised to see either of them hastily deciding to do the same again, will be funny to see hoofball struggling for the next 4yrs😁

I think you are exactly right in terms of how Hearts will play in the Championship. They will be quick out of the trap and play high expecting teams will crack and they can be a couple of goals up after twenty minutes. It did work for them last time and defenders have to be strong to combat it but there are tactics that will wrong foot it and one of them is to counter attack with pace on the ground. If they resort to hoofball even a defender like Berra would be comfortable. The other point is that I'm not sure they have the quality to take advantage up front. Everything might depend on the first half dozen games in that league so we will know better in December...or will they be into January by then?

Yes, needs a couple of teams to fight fire with fire and attack them early, with their current squad and Berra back in the centre of defense they'll be weak with the fullbacks high up the pitch.
Tbh they are too strong for that league really and Neilson has won it twice so I don't expect anything else unfortunately. Their true test is the transition to playing the top teams and hoofball is gradually becoming less effective. Albeit on normal sized pitches, its probably what's saving them yet also holding them back
:agree: it is a great point. I saw someone on Twitter say Nisbet wouldn’t have for a game - after all they have Uche, Washington et al. **** me - covid must give you memory loss.

There is a consultation ongoing with staff - Hibs have, correctly, said that there are a number of roles under review and made no further comment.
That doesnt mean that all of those roles will be going (iirc, if the number in the Sun headline were made redundant we would be left with about 8 staff outside the first team !!!) but it is the right way to go about things..............there are legal protections in place for staff.
Once the results of that review are known, Hibs will tell the staff involved and presumably that information will drip feed into the public domain.
We have no reason to defend ourselves from sensationalist headlines.

And I can guarantee you that Hibs wont be the last club removing roles and/or restructuring the non-playing part of the club.
Media just trying to stir up trouble. UK Employment law requires this consultation period which I think ends on 26 July before redundancies are made.

We started the consultation on the 15th June, and the minimum period before any action can be taken is 30 days.
I think we’ll hear what’s happening this coming week.

As fans we are hypocrites, if Hearts were making redundancies and signing players we would be having ago at them, we have over the pay cuts and signing Gordon. None of us want to hear about anyone losing their jobs but as hospitality and development football won’t be taking place anytime soon it’s not hard to see where savings can be made.
Football players are in a different world to the majority of us, our 1st team players will be on £1500-£3500 per week (roughly) asking someone one on £3k a week to take a cut of £300 for a year is not going to grab headlines like making non playing staff redundant even though we paid £250k for Nisbet.
Unfortunately, it’s not just football that’s facing a crisis, we are heading into economic meltdown with effects of Coronavirus followed by Brexit to come this year.
We all like good news stories about our club but Hibs being transparent and open with fans is bringing a level of scrutiny that other clubs don’t get. I don’t want people to lose their jobs but the sad fact about football is the results of the 1st is all that matters at every club.

Agreed. It's what being a football fan is all about.
FWIW I'm disappointed we're making people redundant. The thing is, if it's people that literally have no job to do for the next year or so (like youth team coaches), I'm not sure what else the club could do... other than pay them to sit on their hands for 12 months
I honestly think that the club have decided to re-assess a lot of operations, football or non-football, and are basically starting from scratch.
We still have a lot of back office, ticketing and shop staff but I'm not sure you can justify employing people to do things like catering when we don't even know when there'll be any fans at games.

I'd think that most of the youth coaches will be part time anyway, so those redundancies aren't as drastic as the term implies since they'll still have their main jobs elsewhere.

Not being all triumphalist - that's the Jambo way, and I add the caveat of those uncertain times - but the gap between the two clubs is looking very substantial now.
All credit to Hearts fans, they have bought into their own deluded sense of superiority, and put their money where their rabid mouths are. The post-Romanov regime has cynically gamed them to an unprecedented level and they've kept supporting it through the least encouraging of times. I have to admit that I was wrong, I thought they were just waiting to halt the direct debits but they've doubled down since the siege mentality efforts of the board, with this victim playing nonsense. They really have bought into this rubbish.
However, I think in the major recession that we're headed for, its going to be increasingly difficult for fans of any club to continue to back a side the way Hearts fans have, and for so little reward. I think when direct debit cancellations start to occur in numbers, we could see an avalanche.
Nothing against them personally, just saying.

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/hearts-captain-steven-naismith-savages-scottish-football-self-interest-and-spfl-debacle-2908329

Naismith's international career is as good as over. He's well past his best, he's lost any pace/stamina, his injuries have piled up, he's not going to be back in action for a while and when he is it will be in a poor Championship and he'll be 34. Griffiths, Fletcher, McBurnie will all be ahead if him. Shankland, Nisbet and Hornby probably will be as well.

No doubt that will be blamed on the scandalous self interest of clubs which in no way were hertz doing when they try to stop Utd from being rightfully promoted, something they voted for. Her success in business and accumulation of vast wealth increasingly look like a fluke. Instead of counting her lucky stars and enjoying her retirement, she seems to have mistaken it as proof of her talent and acumen.

Relegation is probably the best thing for Hearts but their fans can't see it. Sometimes you just need to knock it down and start again, it would be hard to argue against relegation being the catalyst for our recent successes.
I think the only difference with Hearts though is money, they spent alot the past season or two without a contingency plan, obviously delaying the league won't help matters for them.
They will survive though, they just don't have the humility to admit defeat and would rather waste their time and money on something that is clearly not working, rather than use the opportunity try to build something better. Their short sightedness has made the whole saga quite entertaining and I'm looking forward to the TV show.
Honestly though, I think they'll come back stronger, just like we did.

I actually think that TE stance on this has given Budge false hope in the Hearts legal case.
His "its outrageous" "affront to natural justice" "SPFL are entirely in the wrong" style utterances over the last 3 months have basically given her the confidence to assume that these statements are true and not just his opinion.
He sounds to me like the kind of guy that will never actually admit he is wrong - even when they lose arbitration, have to pay costs and play out the season in the Championship, he will keep on it, keep speaking to Budge etc.
What is unknown, obviously, is - When the penny will drop for Ann B?

Why do Hearts always look back the way?

Will take a lot of pressure off Ann as well while she is occupied fighting the court case. What court case? They’re a bit slow on the uptake.

Interesting that the hearts have appointed Jumbo Jim instead of a sporting director and they state that one of the reasons is due to the ongoing costs of their legal challenge ! maybe the cash is drying up again and they need the compo rapidly ?

What role is he in if not Director of football?
Actually think a decent appointment.

Given his recent ill-health, I’d’ve thought this was the last thing he needs!

It’s a nice appointment.
Jim & Anne can go a few walks a week to Saughton Park. Maybe a wee run in the car every now and again down the coast.

I don’t think she is a successful business woman. I think she’s done well with the business she has but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s good at business. Being in the right place at the right time can make a huge difference.
On the evidence of the job she’s done at Hearts, she’s an awful business woman.
She said when she took over that most clubs aren’t run properly and she was going to sort that out. Oops. She’s been so bad and made so many mistakes that it’s almost a case of better the devil you know with them. To them she’s a Jambo though I suspect if she never had Benny factor Anderson smoothing over her mistakes with his cash injections then she might have been viewed differently. In fact because he is there to keep the club afloat they think they are untouchable. If he wasn’t there then she would be gone and they would have to live within in their means. I know that’s impossible for them to understand but they would have had to face actual reality.
Now Potter's gone she needs a new toyboy[emoji6]
She’s played another blinder here imho. Another ex Jambo but one who actually won something. Will appease the hordes and take their mind away from relegation etc

Indeed. You can just see it. She’ll come out with “we’ve spent weeks/months looking for one that fits the image of the club and all along he’s already at the club”

Can't be a bad thing for them bringing him in. I've got a lot of time for Jefferies. One of footballs good guys.
Ann 'Contradiction' Budge does it again. We're going to put the appointment of a Sporting Director on hold for now and then appoints an "advisor" who role description sounds awfy like a Sporting Director's.
Why bother making the announcement a few days ago when you could have just waited and said Jeffries is coming in as a temporary Sporting Director? As far as Budge is concerned it's why do it in 1 statement when you can do it in 2?

Jumbo Jeffries back at Fartz... Who next? Billy 'I've got a Raith Rovers jacket' Brown?
They'll be digging up graves next. That's an old team they've got going on there. Starting to think they won't come straight back up. Strange times at Fartz FC.

I've nothing against Jim Jefferies but I have to wonder what the thinking is with this? It's a strange policy of trying to move forward by continually reaching for the past......
Surely Jeffries will be stuck somewhere in the past?

Yeah it’s a weird one, obviously a very knowledgable guy about Scottish football but how much of that knowledge will still be relevant to modern day football, and the likes of modern scouting methods or sports science. What exactly is he advising the board on? I doubt he’ll be doing much advising and more likely there as a conduit who can translate the pish the board come up with into managerial patter for Robbie.

This has got to be a wind-up, surely.
Budge seems to have no imagination whatsoever when it comes to making appointments at that club.

Given the time pressures and escalating costs of the ongoing challenge to our relegation we have decided to put our recruitment process on hold for now," the club said. "Such an important appointment deserves our full focus and uninterrupted attention, which, right now, is simply not possible."
They seem blind to the fact that they are solely responsible for the "escalating cots" of legal action and that they'd have plenty of time to give this appointment their full focus if they hadn't embarked on such action.

At 69 and post heart attack I very much doubt he has the time, energy or desire to be a full time Sporting Director.
I do see him being able to talk some sense to the Board though and act as an occasional conduit between the mentalist Budge and her ‘football department’
Let’s be honest she needs as much help as she can get and clearly there are zero people interested in taking any perm Sporting Director role at her car crash club (despite her alleged huge pile of CV’s that months and months and months later she still has not got the time to look at!) so sticking plaster time it is....

Director Of Football Advice has a nice ring to it. Its very different to Director Of Football & you only need tippex the 'Advice" part off his office door sign when he gets the gig full time.

When you look at Budge’s history of appointments and who she’s been rumoured to be looking at... generally speaking it’s from a list of people she’s already met.
Levein repeatedly in different roles, and other coaches that were there when she arrived being shuffled around or linked to the DoF role. Hell she was linked with approaching Dempster, as presumably they’ve met...
The only one that doesn’t fit that mould is Stendel, but I think that came about because the media and fans mentioned him enough to make it seem the ‘smart choice’ otherwise, who has she hired for a significant role that she wouldn’t have already met in her capacity at Hearts?

Poor Neilson, desperate to be his own man. I’d be saying wtf, why is this guy needed as a middle man. Expect more note passing along the home benches at Tynecastle.
Ann hasn’t got a clue on recruitment, you need only look at the length of time to both sack and then replace Levein to know that. Yet another act of distraction and playing to the crowd that runs through everything they are as a club.
No doubt the eventual appointment will be a promised ‘big name’
