Forest are a revelation.

If Liverpool had fallen away a bit after klopp left like most people expected them to then Forest really would be in a title race, with the stars aligning similarly to how they did for Leicester (Man City cut adrift, Arsenal less consistent than they were).

I’d settle for a draw in the Killie - Motherwell game but a Killie win wouldn’t be too bad. It would keep us in closer touch with Motherwell. Although it would put Killie above us, we could then leapfrog them in our next game.

Didn’t realise there are 2 games in the Premiership tonight

Kilmarnock v Motherwell

Dundee Utd are predictably and correctly putting out a weakened team (5 changes including Dalby) against Celtic tonight to save their energy for a winnable game on Saturday.
Hopefully Celtic can score a barrowload to destroy their goal difference.

In the other game Kyle Magennis starts for the 1st time in 15 months. Hopefully he can avoid injury for a while this time especially as he is OOC at the end of the season.
If Kilmarnock win they knock Hibs down to 7th and if Motherwell win they will head us by 7 points after 22 games. So a draw is the desired result for us and the worst case scenario a Motherwell win

DUFC 1-0 down, don't know how many of the 5 are just being rested but doing that at Parkhead is risking a pumping which could be a big confidence blow (particularly right after losing at home to the 2nd worst team in the league) and be more detrimental than the benefit gained by having a few fresher players. Here's hoping that's what happens.

Why can't referees get players and physios off the park at the closest point. Yellow card them right away if they dick about like that Liverpool player there who was almost off the pitch, but sat on his arse for as long as he could and then slowly wandered to the halfway line.

It's just plain irritating.

Both results went in our favour tonight and all other Premiership fixtures between now and the Clydebank game look really good from our perspective.

Dundee should take 0 points from their 2 games which includes their game in hand.

Draws in Hearts vs Aberdeen and Dundee United vs St Mirren, old firm winning all games and Hibs win would be absolutely perfect, seeing us up to 6th and really closing in on 3rd - 5th (all games in hand over us also gone) going into the Scottish cup weekend.

Yeah, in more ways than one.
Killie were easily the better team tonight and I reckon there is far more chance of them catching up with us than Motherwell staying ahead of us.
Tonights result leaves Motherwell 5 points ahead of us and Killie 1 point behind us but having played an extra game.

Hibs should beat a tired Motherwell on Saturday. Liam Gordon was injured in the first half and was subbed at half time and Lennon Miller will be out until March.
Kuharevych should return on Saturday and hopefully Newell but Youan will probably still be out with his"injury"

Being a Gooner and living in South Islington, love the pre-match atmosphere. Food in bar/cafe locally then a 20 minute walk to the stadium taking in the anticipation of the fans. Drinks in the stadium before the game then at half time. Spacious seats even in the cheap ones and fantastic views from anywhere in the stadium. North London forever.

the league - Celtic & St J apart is bonkers in terms of how close it is. After last night Aberdeen are only 7 points behind Rangers having played same amount of games... and yet the Dons have not won in the last 9 games. Only 4 points separating the 6 teams 6th to 11th.

we have done remarkable and are the form team in the league but the next 3 or 4 games are going to be crucial as to how things shape up towards the split

Social media has gone bonkers! The BBC had quotes on it from Fergie as a main story this morning.

Even more galling is the fact it’s all armchair fans doing the moaning - they moved our absolute blockbuster of an FA Cup tie to a Thursday night so these wallpapers could watch it. There would have been 6,000+ Posh fans there on a Saturday with loads of families and kids able to experience Goodson Park for probably the first and last time.

Mind you, at least they still got a full house for the game. Sheff Utd vs Cardiff had 6,000 there.

Let’s keep in mind the laddie is 17 and hasn’t been in the last 14 match day squads. It’s not even like he’s a regular sub, he’s made 1 appearance. Ferguson done him a favour having him in the squad incase the opportunity arose for them to make history. It didn’t. If anything they should be thankful he was willing to do that, he could have just killed the idea completely by not including him at all as he’s done the last 14 matches.

:agree:

He shouldn't need to answer to anybody on this, it's ridiculous.

Even if it was 3-0, it's professional football not WWE, Ferguson is there to manage the football club, not make a happy news story.

The laddie got a run out in October for them in the EFL trophy at the start of the season, since then he's not made an appearance and only been on the bench for 3 games before last night.

Hopefully Ashley Young has enough sense to talk to his son and make sure he understands his manager hasn't done him wrong here, cos letting this affect his relationship with the manager or the club will only be detrimental to his career at this point.

Didn't take him long to realise Huns are just angry at the world. Probably secretly angry at their dad's for making them Huns. They don't know why they're forced to like Roy Orbison or the Monarchy. They're angry, confused and inwardly crying out for help. They're scared and confused at having to call each other "Bears". They don't know what a Fenian is but feel they have to say it anyway.

I think it's shocking that Ferguson didn't sign the entire Young family on a short term deal just so they could all have a special moment together on the pitch in a FA cup tie. Really poor from him.

I like Villas all black shirts with no sponsors or names on back. Wearing them to mark 150th Anniversary.

I’m hoping we do something similar

Does anyone know if Hibs have plans to wear the original jersey as the away kit on our 150th anniversary?

Penalty for me, every day of the week. The defender clearly stamps on Murray’s foot ( maybe unintentional but that’s no defence). What really surprised me at the time was someone here said it was never a penalty and that Murray was at it. :bitchy:

Some of the replays didn’t even show the feet, focussing on the coming together with upper body - which absolutely wasn’t enough to give a penalty.

On the replays that showed the feet, I thought it looked obvious that there was a stamp on the foot. It wasn’t deliberate but it was clumsy and a foul, therefore a penalty.

Watched the first half of Middlesbrough - Blackburn and I'm not exaggerating, it was easily one of the worst halfs of football I've watched in a very long time. Dreadful standard. Slow, boring build up, no one really taking a chance and misplaced passes all over the place.

Penalty to Ross county

If a free header from 6 yards out isn't a goal scoring opportunity what is?

If fouling a player with that opportunity isn't denying that opportunity? What is.

Suppose you’re right but on the other hand it’s good to see Celtic not getting all their own way. As it stands, the draw puts RC on the same points as us, I think we can cope with RC over the whole season and don’t mind seeing Celtic brought down a peg.

Going to be tough up Dingwall in a few weeks. Hopefully we have a few back from injury and new signings.
