Please sign a striker Hibs. More fit goalkeepers than strikers is criminal.
Or if you can't sign a striker, break Macey's leg.

Jack Ross isn't remote from the the recruitment process, he's a big part of it. There could well have been strikers available that he didn't want.
As long as the board didn't shift the goalposts in terms of budget, I don't think Ross will be angry. Probably just frustrated like the rest of us.
I'd like to be a fly on the wall there when someone mentions that Will Grigg is out of the picture at Sunderland though.

Well Dundee drew with us and Livi were awful.
We have only played 2 games with a limited strike force. Relying on Nisbet and Scott won’t get us 3rd.

The comment I responded to was quite specific though. "stop Boyle and Nisbet and you will probably beat us". We're unbeaten. I was merely asking, if it's that simple, why none of the managers who have come up against us so far have done that?

I think Jack prefers to go with one of two. We seem to have been going 4-2-3-1 recently with one central striker (Nisbet), Boyle and Murphy wide and Magennis as attacking mid. That leaves Scott, Gullan and, potentially, Dan MacKay

We have to hope we can get to Xmas and still in the hunt for top 6 and then Mueller and Doidge .
I was slated for this approx 12 hours ago. My only amend would be we should be fine for top 6 but we will be very fortunate not to be playing catch up with Aberdeen and Hearts. 2 strikers for 20 + games = Russian roulette.

When did we last sign someone from the free agent market after the window has slammed shut?
In other non related matters I know the Brighton deal isn’t a player exchange one but unless there was an element of that then I think it’s a waste of time and I doubt we will ever see the benefit of it.
If anything we are helping them so they can send players out to our rivals, I’d rather we didn’t have any connection with them if they’re going to do that.
Think Malonga was signed as a free agent after El Alagui did his Achilles after the window shut, can’t think of too many since then

Also can't just dismiss how good it has been to hold onto our best players. They'd have taken a bit of replacing had we lost them.

Agreed. I think JDH is a fantastic signing and, from what I've seen so far, is a big factor in the way we play. Last season we all had a wee moan about the style of play-I think the style has improved with him in the middle. I also think he has helped in the form of Kyle Magennis.

I’m sorry, time may prove me wrong but I just don’t believe we will ever see the direct benefits of this arrangements in the first team.
I know this isn’t a player exchange programme, I really get that but surely when we’re after players for specific positions on deadline day, if we are struggling elsewhere we could go to a club we’ve got a working relationship with?
If its a relationship where we work with them to share best practices sk they can send their young players on loan to our rivals then I think it’s an even worse deal.

They've obviously felt like it was in their best interests to send the players on loan to the clubs they've sent them on loan to. We couldn't have accommodated them all.

Find it odd no credible source has linked us to McGrath.

Why are people upset.
Nisbet, Boyle and Gullan for cover - plenty attacking midfield options to play off the front if we go 1 up top. Doidge back in 3 months, with also Mueller joining in January also.
More importantly we’ve kept Nisbet and Doig.
Boyle signed new deal. (New deals on table for porteous and nisbet also)
Good window if you ask me!

Can we still make signings up until 1am? Or can I go to bed?

Mind you, social media admin is new to the job. Maybe doesn’t realise people stay up until they confirm we’re done

Think folk were just guessing. BBC journalist who knows his St Mirren stuff said there was late interest in McGrath and it was after the English window had closed.

Last couple of windows the round up has came very late.
Each occasion I stayed up late hoping for something.
I’m doing the same again tonight.

I didn't think we'd come out of this window with Doig, Porteous, Boyle and Nisbet.
On reflection it hasn't been the worst window.

McGrath uploaded a photo on Instagram 48 minutes ago of him training with Ireland.
Surely if he signed he would have been too busy to post a photo.

Up to SFA to decide if done in time

I think another option upfront and more people would’ve been a lot happier.
It’s been a decent window but I’d have preferred a permanent CB to come in as it leaves us in the same position next summer. Would’ve also liked to have seen another attacking player come in, even until January

Exactly. Maybe another striker would have been ideal, but I think we have enough quality in attacking areas to survive til Xmas / jan when we should have doidge and mueller back.
January might see then a new arrival depending on Nisbet again. But overall keeping all our best players and potentially having all of them sign improved contracts that benefit them and hibs is cracking business
