I hope you're being funny and not incredibly dense :greengrin
Last year, the cheapest season ticket at Foxborough would have cost $890, with an extra supplement paid up front if you want that to include any potential playoff games. Most expensive tickets for the best seats are around $1700.
As an aside, I notice there's a 90 year waiting list to become a ST holder in Green Bay - the longest in the NFL!

So the cheapest ticket at Lambeau field would be $690 dollars this year, as opposed to $670 last year, assuming a $2 increase.
The figures in the article are used as a "per game" to calculate the overall season ticket, based on 10 regular home games per season.
I think I misread your post and the article first time around, so you're not missing anything :greengrin

Might as well keep this thread going for another year as it's looking ever more likely that we'll be getting a lockout. Fighting over a measly $9 billion :dummytit:
Players Union has "decertified" - basically the players can individually sue the owners if they enforce a lockout next season. As it stands you should all look forward to enjoying watching your college teams come the start of next season!

Was reading about this earlier, having watched something about it briefly on Sky Sports News over the weekend.
I can't see the league letting it get to the point of there being no NFL next year. It's worth FAR too much money to not only the league, but the American economy as a whole!
I was a bit disappointed to note that Tom Brady appears to be spearheading the legal drive against the league and the Patriots under this "anticompetitive" argument, stating that they can't maximise their personal revenue.
Robert Kraft gave Brady a contract worth $48.5 million and I personally wish he wasn't taking a lead in this.
Very disappointing indeed.

The NFL was nowhere near as profitable in the early 80's though.
It's worth too much money to the owners and NFL commission to let the season be shortened/cancelled.
The players greed will be appeased to benefit the greater good and the owners/league will just have to suffer. Sadly, I can't see any other outcome.

Found this pretty funny...
“Due to the NFL lockout, I’m excited to be able to follow my childhood dream of playing for a Major League Soccer team,” Ochocinco said.
Brooks Peck of the Yahoo Sports soccer blog Dirty Tackle (http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle/post/Ochocinho-will-have-a-real-trial-with-Sporting?urn=sow-wp94) did a little math: “Keep in mind that MLS is just 16 years old and Ochocinco is 33,” so Ochocinco couldn’t have had that “dream” until he was 17"

Unless they are a very bright young talent, they must have played 75% of their countries last competitive qualifiers/tournament game IIRC. Of course a superstar player may be let in when his career is on the slide but not a 33yr old making his first season!

Sanchez doesn't utilise big passes or quick sharp passes in the same way Moss was used to with Brady - it might sound a little arrogant, but I reckon Brady him the player he was.

Randy Moss has had all the chances I think he deserves. I have no doubt in my mind that when he puts his mind to it, he's one of the best out there. The way he can pull a ball down with one hand while soaring a few feet off the ground......and then retain possession is amazing. I loved the guy when he played for the Pats. I secretly hoped that after "that" news conference that he would maybe come back to the Pats but it never happened. Wish things could have been different but alas.
We might have broken records with him in the team but we didn't win any rings.

Have any of you been taking part in the vote for the new cover? It's been quite intresting to see which player each team put forward and whos been picking up the votes. They've got it down from 32 to 4. The 4 being;
Aaron Rodgers

Who ever came up with that has done us no favours. Them last 3 games are a bit of a nightmare as well. Wouldn't like to see any of them as must win games.

This season looks like it will be a cracker for all involved, really interested in the upcoming draft to see what the Patriots do with all the picks they have (6 from the first 90, that's 2 each in the first 3 rounds) with 17th and 33rd overall picks looking like good ones.
As for Moss going to the Jets, Moss did so well at New England as he was working with arguably one of the best Quarterbacks in the NFL and their style of play suited him, don't think the way the Jets work is what would fit Moss best. Moss has said that he'd love to work with Belichick and Brady again, as for whether the Patriots would take him back given the season they had last year without him, I'm not so sure, the New England offence was one of the best last year, and statistically their defence was one of the worst, which was off-set by the offence doing so well.

The NFL are saying that you can't put an injunction on a labour dispute - not too clued up on US law but seems they have a pretty solid basis to appeal this injunction. Besides how can the NFL operate if there is still no CBA? Agents are telling their players to report tomorrow in order to start picking up workout bonuses. Very interested to see how this plays out if the injunction is upheld.

Article by the NFL commissioner in the Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704132204576285090526726626.html).
If he's being remotely fair in his analysis, it sounds like the NFL will become a lot more like European football - a complete free for all. No draft, no restrictions on free agency, no collective agreements at all. The obvious consequence of that is a system more like English football, where about 4 or 5 teams have a realistic chance of winning each year and everyone else is fighting over the scraps and/or developing players for those richer teams.
I don't think many Americans will have much sympathy for the already very well-paid players like Brady or Peyton Manning trying to squeeze a few more million bucks out of them at the expense of their fellow players. At present the NFL is very fair towards marginal and/or injured players in terms of minimum salary and protective benefits. Without a CBA those guys would obviously get squeezed, because the small market teams could just take other players from college, Arena football or Canada.

Alot of the arguement comes down to the fact that the owners want a longer regular season for which the players want more money for... The majority of players get so smashed to **** that they want either bigger rosters (and therefore more money to pay for the extra needed players) or keeping the same rosters (and therefore more money to pay for the bigger risks they will have to take). At the end of the day American Football is not like Association Football - these players run the risk of serious, life threatening injuries whenever they enter the arena. Association football is, in theory, non contact and while serious injuries occur in it NFL players run the risk of disablities, brain damage and even death when they head for a tackle... Just look at the Ellis Hobbs injury this season where everyone was on the pitch and the fear of the worst was evident in the eyes...
The biggest players earn huge bucks, sure, but then alot of players who arent "top" players yet are instrumental in the team earn little... and some of their time as pros is very limited.
The big players also earn the big money because they are the best at what they do, they sell the team the biggest number of shirts, bring the best money from deals...
The players hold all the chips here and I would imagine the public will be with them

The big players also earn the big money because they are the best at what they do, they sell the team the biggest number of shirts, bring the best money from deals...
The players hold all the chips here and I would imagine the public will be with them
That's not what previous strikes / lockouts in pro sports would suggest.

I found a few of the picks a bit strange. If I'm a Pats fan I'm not sure I'd agree with the Solder move. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent player but a num 17 pick? Also what is it with them and acquiring draft picks. Again if I was a Pat fan it's about time Belichick bit the bullet and went for it. I did hear that they now have 3 first round picks for next year, anyone know if that's true.
Did anyone else think it was funny that Locker went before Gabbert and what about the Falcons, they gave a hell of a lot up to trade up to get Jones.
As for the Jets, Our first pick was always going to be on the D and while I'm gutted that we let Heyward pass bye I reckon Wilkerson is a good sound pick.

We do indeed have three for next season yes.
Solder I think has some serious talent although I would have prefered Castano (sp?) who went to the Colts. Bill always drafts strangely and seems to be a bit of a wheeler dealer with players... The first round is also a bit dangerous for some teams as the contracts are usually alot of cash just because they are a 1st rounder and some gems will be found lower down and therefore getting another 2nd round pick from the saints is brilliant.

Yeh, but would you not like to see him push the boat out and actually go for it. What they going to do next season with 3 first round picks? They can't trade down anymore or can they. My thought's are that next season could be the year when they look to draft Brady's replacement.
Back to this years draft and who else would draft Kenrick Ellis but us. Don't get me wrong, I think he has great potential and has a shot at making it but this guy has some serious off the field issues. Never mind the drugs and the women. The guys looking at some serious jail time for assault.

Cam Newton looks to be a risky choice at number one. Can see why Carolina felt the need to do it though as he had that great year at Auburn and they need a franchise quarterback. Highlight of the night was AJ Greens face when chosen by the Bengals, he must of thought he was going to Atlanta.
Wilkerson and Ellis give our ageing D a bit of youth and size which was badly needed. Both look good value for where they were picked.
From what I've read Ellis broke the face of a
man with a punch after said man came after
him and his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

It has worked so far? We have taken some players recently in the draft who have been stars like Mayo and last seasons choices were brilliant... We also look like we have drafted Bradys replacement with the guy from Akansas who looked dangerous in college but fell down the order due to off field issues.
Brought in two running backs, a 3 and short type of back and a running back for through the middle... time to replace some of those older legs on our run game that worked quite well last season.

New York has two teams, the Jets (spit) and the Giants (spit) who are both actually in New Jersey  but if you want to see a great team take the four hour ride up the I 95 to see the New England Patriots.

Tampa Bay and Jacksonville aren't a huge haul from Orlando. The other Florida based team are the Dolphins, but is about a 4 hour drive.
If the NFL isn't an option, get yourself to watch one of the Florida (or New York) collegiate teams:
University of Florida play about 2 hours up the road in Gainesville and the University of Central Florida Knights play in Orlando (Oviedo, at the Bright House Network Stadium).
There are also the Florida State Seminoles (Tallahassee), Miami Hurricanes (Miami) but again, these are very long drives (5 and 4 hours respectively).
AyrshireHibs will probably be able to better advise on the NY College teams - I've been to see Rutgers before mind you, which is a good place to watch football.

Lots of NFL football in New York (or New Jersery should I say) during the month of October. Giants take on the Seattle Seahawks (9th) and Buffalo Bills (16th) while
The Jets have the Miami Dolphins (17th) and San Diego Chargers (23th).
Jets - Dolphins game should be a cracking match, would imagine the atmosphere will be electric as it's two big rivals and we will have thumped New England the week before
College Football isn't such a big draw in NY as in the South (St Johns ditched their
football team in order to put more money into their basketball programme - basketball is king) but there are a couple of smaller colleges who play locally (Fordham and Hofstra spring to mind) Rutgers in New Jersey are the biggest football playing college and then you're looking at Syracuse which is too far to really count.

Not sure about now a days as their crowds are up but a few years ago it was really easy to get to Jaguars games from Orlando. Loads of tour operators have tickets and run coaches up for the games. If your doing the driving then head to Tampa for a Buccaneers game. Only an hour from Orlando, their crowds are down and I think the've just dropped their prices.

Sadly, those scores might just be for ****s and giggles unless this lockout is resolved. I'm trying to avoid any puns relating to "Brady whipping balls" as it's just too easy.
In NCAA news, it's amazing to note that Eric Legrand (Rutgers University, who was paralyzed from the neck down after a collision in the game vs Army last season) was in the commentary booth today for a Spring game in Rutgers. His doctors told him that he would be paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life. It's since been announced that he has motion back in his shoulders again and can feel through his body, which is unbelievable.
The guy and his family are extremely religious and pray on a daily basis and appears to be making a recovery, in spite of the medical advice given to him by his doctors. I'm not necessarily convinced in the reasons for his recovery, but it does make you wonder at times.

It's about ex Eagles player Vince Papale who at the age of 30 and being a partime bartender became the oldest rookie who had never played college ball to play in the NFL. Moss and his oversized ego would be well suited to the Jets - as he's proven time and time again, he's absolutely nothing without a quality QB, which is something you don't have.

DH: I bet as an OSU fan, you must be absolutely s***ing it right about now.
Not only has your best coach in a seriously long period been forced to resign, the NCAA sanctions the school faces are likely to absolutely cripple you.
An almost guaranteed losing record as a result of suspensions next season, a loss of scholarships going forward, the likely allowance of free transfer allocations from OSU, the vacation of all wins from last year (thus nulling the Bowl win), a loss of recruiting appeal (which will benefit us no-end), a more than likely Bowl ban and the extreme liklihood of an NCAA Compliance Officer taking up full time residence in Columbus with any further breaches likely to see OSU go the same way as Southern Methodist, back in the late 80's.
If the NCAA are forced to such actions (unlikely, unless the more serious allegations of merch for drugs/prostitutes are somehow validated), OSU and the programme will undoubtedly crumble.
And at the end of all of this, the people I feel for are the fans and players who haven't been caught up in this, but will be left to deal with it for years to come. It certainly can't be worth it.
However, let the North MidWest power swing begin

Yeh them Spartans aren't a bad team .
Honestly though, with Nebraska coming in and things being the way they are I can't see anything but them dominating the division for the foreseeable future.
It's not looking good for us at all, most of our team is suspended for next season and I doubt we will Pryor play for us again. We will survive though and although theres no doubt this will damage us short term, we will be back in the long term. As usual you make valid points and I agree with most of them but can't see us ending up like the Mustangs, even if they hit us with the same punishment. Like it or not we're to big an institute to let it happen. And lets be fair, it might have taken a while but it's not as if the Mustangs are the worst team in the world. We will just have to make do with beating your lot every year. Remind me, whats your record against Tressel again:greengrin? You got to be happy he's gone.
Wonder who they will investigate next. Not makeing excuses or anything but you know as well as I do this kinda thing is rife throughout (although probably not to the extent we were involved).

I'm definitely glad to see the back of Tressel but it makes you question the legitimacy of his record (overall) and what he was doing to recruit players.
I think "long-term" is open to interpretation - I reckon it'll sting OSU for the next 10-15 years at least, as it takes a while to get a good reputation in terms of recruitment, and you're not going to be as attractive an option.

I think Pryor is going to find himself without the long list of suitors he seems to imagine he'll get. I bet most Buckeye fans will be glad to see that Fickell isn't pandering to Pryor, desperate to get him to return to Columbus. I'm aware Pryor's on-field record is impressive, but the disrespect he's shown to his school, his coaches, his fellow players (who have behaved honestly) and the fans of OSU, and the level of **** which is about to rain down upon them as a result of his actions should be enough to ensure most Buckeyes will be glad to be shot of him.
As for the USC story, I think that should be setting alarm bells off in Columbus right now - BIG time. Make no mistake about it, the NCAA will come down on Ohio State. USC have had their BCS Bowl removed for ONE player violating the school/league rules. Ohio State not only have somewhere in the region of 15 players who have supposedly violated these laws (9 which can be confirmed), but they also tried to cover it up! Not only should the 2002 BCS be revoked, but I'd imagine all of the Big Ten conference wins under Tressel should also be voided. I wouldn't expect it to stop there either...
To be honest, I don't want to see Ohio State slammed too much, and with all of such stories, I think it's a shame that the College are the ones who are tarnished. These guys sign up to play football and receive a scholarship to pay their fees for the most part. They sign contracts which outline these specific rules and are expected to abide by them. They gain no athletic benefit from what they've done, but achieve in damaging the reputation and prospect of their college for years to come. In my eyes, forcing the offending athletes to repay their scholarship in full and punishing the individual who has violated these rules, rather than his institution. The individuals are ultimately responsible for these violations but the college will suffer - it's not right.

So you just create an account saying you live in the US? even though my net connection is UK it still works?
YIP. Basically all you have to do is create a new user on your PS3 and then sign up for Playstation Network with a new ID. When it asks your country of residence you just put the United states instead of the UK. Then when you need to put your address in you just find one of google. The only thing is you might need to make a new email address as don't think you can have two ID's on the one email. Use a google one cause they end .com not .co.uk
Once you get your account you can play anything you download on your UK account for as long as you keep your US account.
Hope that makes sence. If not PM me and I'll make you an account.

You could but I think you'd need a US bank account. Their straight forward enough to buy though from the UK. The thing is you need a US account register the games, but once you've done that you can use your UK account. Either way you need a US account and like I said before the plus thing is you can download loads of demos, add-ons that you can't get here. At the moment as well as NCAA12 you can download the demos for MLB 11 the show, NBA 2K11 and MLB 2K11 to name but a few.
It only takes 5 mins to create the account and you'll e playing NCAA12 in no time.
Just noticed they got the new Pro Evo demo on there. Can you get it in the UK?

I'm a little apprehensive about our trade today, swapping a 2013 5th round draft pick for Redskins DL Albert Haynesworth.
He's renowned for his troublesome demeanor in the clubhouse and there's no real surprise that the Redskins wanted him out. Having said that, Randy Moss and Corey Dillon were both in similar positions before they arrived in Foxborough and Belichick got them to perform out of their skin!
Assuming he does come with the right attitude, he gives us some SUPERB goal line options and also allows us to try some 4-3 defensive packages, which isn't a typical approach for us.
I sincerely hope the rumours of Ochocinco are unfounded though...

If it's a question of money then it's Houston. If it's a question of everything else then it has to be us. The positive is, it looks like it's a question of everything else and he's already said he'd like to live in New York, play under Rex and along side Revis. He will come to us for $12 million a year but anyone else has to stump up $15+ million . Sanchez is offering to restructure his contract to get the deal done and we've already got rid of Clemens, Weatherford and Brad Smith with Cro and Edwards likely to be next out the door. When you consider we are $10 million under the cap just now, it really makes for some intresting times ahead.
As for the Jets league, PM me your email and I'll get an invite sent out to you. (It wont be from me) Our draft is August 25th around about 9pm and we're using ESPN.

RI is beautiful - make sure you get into visit Newport (my hometown :greengrin) - they usually have a Chowder festival down on the harbour on various days in the summer and it's well worth it!

I was at a conference in Maine recently, where we ended up staying just on the outskirts of Boston and being bussed up to the conference venue on a daily basis (about 2 hours away). Sessions all finished at 8pm, then an official dinner, so little time to see anything!

Was stunned when I read that earlier on - great acquisition for us and hopefully he's as effective as Danny Woodhead was last year.
We've been quite busy of late actually - Logan Mankins has been secured on a long term deal and we've also signed DE Andre Carter, also from the Redkskins and according to Robert Kraft, Ochocinco and Haynesworth have been outstanding in our practice sessions and have been great locker room additions. We've added a lot of seasoned veterans in the off-season, which should balance the wealth of prospects we've had coming through in recent years.
I found it quite funny to note that Chad is staying with a fan for the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season to get acclimatised to the club and the area.

The pre-season power rankings for the NCAA are gradually being released. Interesting to note that Ohio State are no.18, behind both Michigan State and Notre Dame!!
I can't see why the Irish are entering into the top 15 - they finished last year 8-5 (granted, without a lot of their regular starters), but it's a very presumptuous statement.

Already started mate. ESPN have been showing Pre-season games live. Jets game was on last night, we lost. No big thing but Turner broke his leg and will be out at least 10 weeks :brickwall. The Giants game is on next week. Have a look on line when the Packers are playing cause there's always links somewhere. NFL season kicks off the weekend of the 9th Sept. Think the packers kick it all off the Thursday night/ Friday morning on Sky against the Saints. We're at home to the Cowboys, think it's the live SNF game on Channel 4. Hope they show all the build up as should be something special/emotional with it being the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The other mob kick off against the phins on the Monday night game on ESPN. All in all should be a cracking weekend when you throw in the other Sky games and the NCAA games. NCAA season kicks of the weekend starting Sept 2. ESPN showing something like 10 games over the weekend including the Buckeyes game live :aok:.

Channel 4 show 1 live game a week. Sky Normally show 2 live games a week but can show more depending on what stage of the season we are at. ESPN also show a live game on a Monday night/ Tuesday morning. Both Sky and ESPN have highlight shows/packages that run throughout the week. Don't know if they have picked it up this year but BBC radio 5 have a live game on a Sunday night either at 6/9pm depending on the game. BBC also pick up the play-offs and run highlight shows on BBC3 and then they show the Superbowl live along with SKY. Then there's the internet. You can just about pick up every game on there and if you look hard enough will probably be able to watch the Vikings live every week. I only missed out on 1 Jets game the whole of last season.
And that's just NFL. Start taking NCAA into account and it's a different world. ESPN show anywhere between 5-10 games a week. Word to the wise though, once you get into it there's no going back. NFL has nothing on it.

Ouch! That's quite a loss for you guys.
Do you know if our opening match vs Western is being shown DH? Can't find a decent online guide as to what games are being covered for opening weekend.
I'm going to be in the USA for opening weekend of the NFL and looking forward to it. It should indeed be a very emotional opener in the Meadowlands and I have to admit, my thoughts won't exactly be on the games going on that day - I was in New York that day and every year it comes around, I can't think of much else.
Not caught any of our pre-season games yet, but we battered Jacksonville last Thursday.
Was also a little worried/excited to note that Brady Hoke said on Monday "If we're not winning the Big Ten, we're failing these kids as coaches". Better start the apologies early then, as there's no way we can compete with the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nebraska and OSU quite yet. Will be nice to see us reverting to an old-school Michigan football approach this season though!

Tell me about it. Turner is a massive loss for us. We will have to pull something out the bag as we don't have good enough cover at the moment.
Think your opner is on ABC in the States. Shouldn't have a problam getting a link. Remind me nearer the time if you can't get anything and we'll have a look. Only really struggle when it's a big10 network game. Your game against the Irish is on ESPN the week after but if your gonna be in the States anyway. Don't know what to say about 9/11 but hopefully it's a fitting tribute when America's team come to town (I'm sure it will).

ESPN showing something like 10 games over the weekend including the Buckeyes game live :aok:.
.
I didnt know ESPN were showing the pre season games :aok: i will keep an eye out
2 Weeks to the NCAA season

Not sure about the Jetsies picking up Maybin after he was cut by the Bills! Worth the risk for such a once promising player - it's something the Islanders do well in the NHL so here's hoping it works for my NFL team.

My first reaction when I read the story was instinctively to laugh - I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.
Incidentally, another decent win for us last night vs the Bucs. We ripped them to shreds in the first quarter and then took our foot of the gas in the end, winning out 31-14.
Everyone seems to be jumping all over the eagles hype train just dont see it vick to me is still an athlete more than a qb and lacks the decision making acumen to win a superbowl. looking forward to see oregon go in week one v lsu i believe its being played in texas so lsu will have more fans there, lets see if their #1 ranking is justified

Nah, I'm talking about the supplemental draft. I'm sure it's this weekend. He was knocked back from entering but met up with Roger Goodell and now he's in . He's a very, very lucky boy if you ask me. Rumor is the Bengals could be keen if the deal is right.

Fair enough, but I'm on vacation from the 10th-25th of September and won't be going near a computer, so as to avoid checking any incoming emails, so If needed, I'll change when I get back (which hopefully would coincide with the Irish playing either State or OSU anyway).

The Jets are the only NJ based team I really follow. Mets (Queens) and Islanders (Nassau) are both NY. Ended up following St Johns through the New York connection - they get a lot of coverage through NY media outlets towards the end of the year so it becomes quite easy to follow them.

No official pre-season schedule per se, but a lot of the colleges will face up against local colleges in the equivalent of "behind closed doors" games.
I attended a few of these in Connecticut, but they were never great, as players didn't want to get injured for a meaningless friendly.

Didn't realize he fell so low. Had problems logging in and missed the start of the draft. Only got on after my first 3 picks had been auto picked and they were all WR's :grr:. Kolb was the best of what was left so had to go for him. I have my doubts but hopefully he comes good. He has a point to prove and with Fitzgerald as his go to guy who knows. Giving that I got on late I thought my team was crap until I had a look at everyone else's and to be fair it's not the worst. Did you vote on who drafted best? I voted Leeds Jets. I'm not sure if there's a legitimate one to be honest - nearly all the NFL games are either covered by Sky, ESPN and Channel 4 and those that aren't, are available online, though not through legitimate means obviously. The best website to get the games is usually atdhe.tv - they also stream every college game being shown, so long as it's on one of the big networks in the USA.
I've found http://www.live-footballstreaming.com/, with a $10 annual fee, but I'd wager it's far from legitimate...

For NCAA check out ESPN player. Was £12.99 a month last year but think it's went up to £17.99. You can pick from a load of live games and if you miss any they archive them for 4 weeks. For NFL check out gamepass. Not sure of the price but they show every NFL game live that isn't on TV (in the UK), so as long as the Patsies aren't on the tele here you can watch them live. The problem with that though is that Sky have the rights to the play-offs so you don't get em.
Like TSSF said though, you can get the games for free if you know where to look. Only missed one Jets game all season and unless their on Big 10 the Buckeyes games are always on. Didn't think you could post links on here so if your ever struggling give me a shout cause I've loads of places to look .

I just want to say i have been addicted to NCAA Football 12 since it arrived through my door, I like the dynasty mode where you start of as a head coach of a programme and get new recruits etc. I started off as Michigan (i dont really support a college team so, i didnt know really who to go) and i am 6-0 with @ Mich St. as my next game.
The other one i like is Road to Glory when you start of in High School and you have to get into a college programme and become a star player
Another think i liked is that it has live sports center updates when on the Menu, i was getting updated from all the American Sports when checking my roster and schedule etc.
Way better than Madden IMO
The BIG game of the week is Oregon v LSU. Huge, huge game. 3 v 4, whoever wins will probably go to number one in the polls and the loser will probably drop out of national title consideration. I love these type of non conference matchups!

Their defense look solid - a lot more blitzes being used than last season - also quite surprised to see there that Tressel has going to the Colts as a gameday advisor. I thought for sure that he'd take another coaching role somewhere.
I'm avoiding the Michigan vs Western score, so I can watch it tomorrow "as live", so please say nothing!

Yeh, I knew they'd be poor but Jesus. We can run against these guy's all day and it's already looking like a cricket score in the making. Think we will see Braxton Miller in the 2nd half though.
That ball was in bounds:agree:

It's 105 degrees in Columbus the now. We are 28 points up and the reserves are out. This games more than over.
Utah are still winning though .

Just saw Auburn's schedule . They just scored 2 TD's in 59secs to take the lead with 30 secs to go. You got to feel for the Aggies, thought the shock was on.

How poor were Akron :faf:. Great to be back and was good to see the best team in Big10 strut their stuff once again. Thought our rookies looked good and was really surprised with Miller (after his bad start). Really looking forward to seeing what the D can do in a competitive game and with the nice easy start to the season we can only continue to improve and remember we've still to get our suspended players back .

It was a shocking display from Akron!
Mon the Irish, down 16-7, costly turnovers in this game thus far but we are on the march inside the 20!
And that missed fg ultimately cost us the game, well that and a slew of other errors. Michigan next week is gonna be a tough nut to crack if we play the same way, looking like another false dawn in south bend (sigh)

What a disappointment in the end - game called with 1.27 to go in the 3rd on account of inclement weather.
We looked good from what WAS played. Defense were solid when they finally got it going after giving up a TD in the first and we scored 2 of our TD's from defensive plays forcing turnovers.
I thought our defense was perhaps our "weak point" last year and it looks like Brady Hoke has concentrated on that since coming in.
Hard to gauge how we are generally, having only seen a small amount of play, against a pretty dismal Western team.
UConn also blew out Fordham, 35-3, so a good day all around yesterday:
No.18 Ohio State 42-0 Akron
No.21 Missouri 17-6 Miami (OH)
No.23 Auburn 42-38 Utah State (was a superb game)
UConn 35-3 Fordham
Penn State 41-7 Indiana State
No.2 Alabama 48-7 Kent State
No 13. Virginia Tech 66-13 Appalachian State
No.6 Florida State 34-0 Louisiana-Monroe
No.25 USC 19-17 Minnesota
Michigan 34-10 Western Michigan (after 3 quarters)
North Carolina 42-10 James Maddison
South Florida 23-20 No.16 Notre Dame
No.9 Oklahoma State 61-34 Louisiana Lafayette
No.12 South Carolina 56-37 East Carolina
No.15 Arkansas 51-7 Missouri State
No.22 Florida 41-3 Florida Atlantic
No.1 Oklahoma 47-14 Tulsa
No.4 LSU 40-27 No.3 Oregon
No.5 Boise State 35-21 No.19 Georgia
Cincinnati 77-10 Austin Peay

Did you watch the game last night? First quarter flew in and both teams only had 1 possession. Thought for a moment the Broncos were gonna make a game of it but you guy's stepped up. To be fair thought your D looked good. Like you said it's hard to tell because of the opposition (same story with us) but you can't argue with Herron's contribution.
What was that weather all about  and I still can't get over that cheerleader. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen :love ya!:

Patriots add right guard, Brian Waters - superb addition to the roster and in an area where we desperately needed an addition.
Surprised to note we've cut Brandon Meriweather - I thought he was one of our stand-outs last season and made some crucial interceptions for us. Good acquisition for Chicago though.
