Good win for Seattle but it should have been the 49ers, had the refs called a consistent game. Not seen any interview with Harbaugh yet but I can imagine he's livid at some of those 'calls'.
Having said that, I wanted the Seahawks to win so I wasn't hugely upset.
With nothing against them going forward though, I hope the Broncos win the Superbowl and piss all over Sherman in the process.

It'll be interesting to see how he matches up against Demariyus Thomas (I assume that's who he'll be covering) with Manning throwing in his direction. With no disrespect to Crabtree or Kaepernick, last night was hardly a demanding test for him.
I've no arguments Sherman is a great CB but 'the best there ever was'? That's some level of arrogance, on a par with Randy Moss declaring himself to be the best WR in NFL history

Did he actually say he was the best EVER? I cant find any link to that. He said postmatch that he was the best corner in the league, and thats a pretty unanimous opinion amongst all the pundits. His stats (qb rating of <45 passing to his side, league leader in interceptions) back it up. Best ever is a bit steep, he needs to prove it over a longer career.
It all depends if you like him I guess. And if youre a A Seattle fan helps :greengrin And you also have to factor in he has history with Crabtree, who is a bellend by all accounts) and being an intelligent Stanford graduate (straight outta Compton as well) has issues with not getting drafted by his ex coach Harbaugh.

I think his interview has a lot to do with the fact that the 49ers are a bunch of gob*****s they were probably winding up the Seattle D all game and he just so happened to make a huge play about a minute before being interviewed. See how they were winding up Carolina and to some extent the packers D's as well.

Some interesting MVP odds;
Manning unbackable at 6/5
Sherman unbackable at 25/1(for a corner?!)
Welker 20/1 could be the toughest receiver for Seattles big DBS to cover.
Harvin 20/1 bound to see a lot of the ball, will be a factor on kick returns too.
Michael Bennett 100/1 wow this looks generous. Could get a few sacks and on fire in the postseason.
Byron Maxwell, our cornerback who isn't Richard Sherman :greengrin could have a big day if he's targeted by Manning.
On the other hand the last ten MVPs have all gone to offensive players :dunno:

Who cares. What goods a London franchise to me? Am I gonna travel to see them play every second week, NO. Might as well be a Berlin, Barcelona or any other European city as far as I'm concerned. Money it would cost to follow a London team would always be better spent on a week in NYC following the gang green. Now, can we please put the myth of Manning being 'the best ever' to bed?
:agree: The Manning 'best ever' debate was ludicrous and he wouldnt have been the best ever even if they'd won last night. It's all about how you perform in the big games and he's come up short again and again. That first play last night with the botched snap safety set the tone for the whole game. What went on there? Surely the snap count routine with your center is just basics? Every down he looked almost scared, looking desperately at our defense movement and responding to our tempo. His % completion stats and total yards will always be impressive but I have a feeling he'll be remembered as 'nearly great'.
As good as we were, (and we were very good :greengrin ) the Broncos let themselves down last night, especially with some of their tackling. For a 13-3 team to be so poor was a bit disappointing. Beating the 49ers two weeks ago felt like the real superbowl, really.

played badly, Manning 'targetted him' (nonsense) and even seems to intimate that he exaggerated his injury
If they don't take the trouble to understand the sport they shouldnt even bother covering it.

Despite all the denials and character assassination, it sounds like the Dolphins were right to suspend Incognito and there was a culture of extreme bullying in Miami. It'd be great to see another team pick up Johnathon Martin.
Combine starts in 2 days, interested to see how Manziel ( is it manzeal, manzeaell or manzil :greengrin ) gets on, from all the chat last year he wasnt seen as a good fit for the NFL game but he has progressed nicely, Blake Bortles seems to have rocketed to the forefront of scouts attention mainly down to his "size" as a prototypical QB, which is surely a load of pish nowadays seeing as how both Brees and Wilson are able to extend plays, while Teddy Bridgewater is being downed on for seeming too frail to make it in the rough and tumble, considering hes still young im sure he can add a few pounds of weight :agree: the QB im more interested in seeing is Derek Carr, he's my dark horse to be the 1st QB taken by either Jacksonville or Cleveland.

The best thing about the draft is checking out some of the ridiculous names. The superbly monikered safety from Alabama, Haha Clinton Dix (well he wasnt going to be Ivy League, was he?) is predicted to go in the first round.

harder for a pats fan as you generally draft late in the 1st round so dont get 1 of the marquee draft picks, doesnt seem to harm your team every year though

Whenever I saw you guys play, Vaccaro looked outstanding for a rookie, so you've got a potentially dominant pair of safeties now, maybe almost as good as Seattles? Quite some money getting shelled out for defensive backs; just shows how important they are in the modern game. Which makes the Patriots move even more surprising. Revis to the Patriots?

Sadly, it doesn't. We've had this irritating habit for years now of moving our best players on for very little return. Moss, Maroney, Green-Ellis, Welker, Talib are the ones that instantly spring to mind.
Just as well Gronkowski's been injured for so long or undoubtedly he'd be playing elsewhere right now too.

I was actually fairly happy with this. Is he really that bad? Austin Howard was demanding silly money to stay and the general consensus is that this is one of Izdik's shrewder moves this off season.
I'm not really that happy with Vick. I'd rather have had someone like Fitzpatrick as a back up to Geno, one poor game and our fans will be calling for Vick to start - a bit like the Sanchez/Tebow situation. Decker is a great pick up though, we still need another quality wideout, hopefully through the draft rather than DeSean Jackson. An expereinced cornerback is a must too, I like Milliner but he's not proven enough to be the teams top option in the backfield.

I'm afraid Giacomini is honking, sorry :greengrin Russell Wilson actually seems to play better when he's facing a heavy rush, which is lucky, but Giacomini never seemed to stand up to his rusher. Pats wise I reckon we are going for some DBs first, maybe a WR.
the player id love the Saints to draft is Odell Beckam Jr  but i reckon he will be long gone by the time we're on the clock, the inside chatter is we are taking Marcus Martin a Centre seeing as we dont have any right now and hes the no.1 rated centre, we also need a CB so Stanley Jean-Baptiste or Keith McGill could be in play + we could do with another DE - maybe Dee Ford from auburn who reckons he will be a better player long term than Clowney

I reckon they have a fair idea. Especially the top picks.
Manziel wont drop to Dallas. He'll be taken by 7.

That was an anti climax; we traded away our pick! Packers did well to get the Haha man as low down as 21.

Surprised Manziel went so low but I suppose there are question marks over his ability to step up.

Slightly disappointed with the Giants pick, Ebron would have been good as a redzone target which is more of what we need, still Reese and Coughlin both seemed high on Beckham so we'll see how he is!

49ers get WR Steve Johnson from Buffalo. Very good player.
happy with our 2nd pick too, i wanted Jean-Baptiste or McGill at Cornerback we got Baptiste, a big rangy corner to team up up with Keenan Lewis and Champ Bailey to help teach him the pro game, just need a Centre now, hopefully Marcus Martin or Travis Swanson from Arkansas

Our second pick...a QB???
Starting to think of the future by the looks of it. We've drafted QBs before but never this high.

On paper our draft picks don't look that special, certainly the pundits don't rate them.
On the other hand, I remember year before last we were graded as one of the worst teams in the draft. The first three players we drafted that the pundits hated? Two of our current best players on defence Bruce Irvin in round one, Bobby Wagner in round two and ... Russell Wilson in round three:greengrin
Its all guesswork really.

Like the scouting report on this Dakota Dozier - "Likes to throw players and knock them down"
Interestingly enough these are the two things I enjoy seeing happen to Tom Brady - pity he's a guard.

The LSU QB is still there. I'm surprised they haven't mentioned Michael Sam yet, possibly the first openly gay player in the NFL.

Jeremy Gallon is a good acquisition for us. Again, another small, 'slot' type receiver but his numbers last year at Michigan were quite scary (particularly given how poor we were at times).
Can't claim to know much about any of the rest of our picks...

I've been reading some comments regarding the draft and a few are saying the Rams are a bad fit due to the amount of competition for places and some seem to think he might get cut.

Ive heard this chat 'the Rams have the best front four in the league' but dont see the evidence for it. Robert Quinn gets a lot of sacks but they have a below avg D against the run and pass and finished bottom of the division, so I think theyre a bit overrated. Sam could break in to that team IMO.

I don't know enough about him to form an opinion, a lot of people have been quoting his combine stats saying he's small and slow for a pass rusher. He might go on to do well but there seems to be a bit of scepticism about his ability.

Its a good watch :agree: it shows his approach as a gambler as opposed to a shutdown type corner like Revis. I wonder if Hibs players show the same dedication to studying game film of the opposition all day

That part when he's talking about making the Receiver look open so the QB throws to him, that takes balls. I always thought it was good awareness that makes a player follow one player then change after the ball is thrown but to think it was pre planned to make the QB do that blew my mind how much effort these guys put into their position.
