They looked good doing it too!

We had a very comfortable win against a very poor UMass team, which was completely expected. Hardly worth getting excited about mind you...

Thoroughly enjoyed the California @ Ohio State game. Having been to 2 or 3 symposiums at Berkeley, I like to see them doing well but expected them to get destroyed yesterday. Thought they played very well indeed and were it not for the 3 missed FGs or their interception at the end, could have walked out with the most surprising of results! Was surprised by how poor the Buckeye defense looked. Was also quite surprised by how poor the QB looked, in spite of all of the praise he's been getting both on here and beyond.

Looking forward to the 2 games tonight. As for us, I expect a comfortable win in Foxborough which inevitably means it'll be tight or we'll lose :greengrin

No protection from our offensive line for Brady tonight and an inability to switch it up from the same plays.

Awful lot of punch-ups occurring this week.

The replacement officials are struggling to keep control a little.

As an aside, I'm struggling to believe that Kansas City were being tipped to win their division. They're AWFUL.

I'm more concerned about the replacements not knowing the rules than whether there is pushing and shoving. Watched my Eagles against the Ravens and the officials were very poor with the game being held up on several occasions whilst they worked out what they should be doing. There is no excuse for basic errors such as not knowing where to enforce a penalty from.

The crew we had last week against the Browns did OK though.

Pats missed FG at the end was a surprise but we can thank Gronk for -15 yards at the end (and the chopped off td even though I think the holding call was BS). We had plenty of time to make a couple of plays and get the ball closer but royally f'ed up when it counted.

That said, I think the reception that was chopped off for the cards looked ok, not sure what they saw in the review booth that made them uphold it. We received a get out of jail card but shouldn't have needed it.

James.

Same Old Jets Tonight. Offence has been awful since that first drive - any time we seem to be at a pivotal play to try and get some sort of momentum we pass it off to Shonn Greene for a gain of 2 or 3 yards, really frustrating stuff. We should really be using Tebow and John Connor more if that's our game plan.

The only real consolation is that this was a game we weren't really expected to win.

Steve Young was teeing off on the NFL last night. He blames them and wants this whole thing resolved. His stance is the NFL doesn't care because nomatter what happens, the fans will still turn up and the NFL will get their pound of flesh. Sure, the fans will be pissed. The teams will be pissed but the NFL still earns...therefore they don't care. That was his opinion at least.

That has to go down as one of the worst ever decisions by a referee in history (probably in any sport). Absolute Joke. The refs have ruined about 4 games this week and are the only reason that Green Bay lost last night.

This season is a farce. Roger Goodell is responsible and the sooner he goes the better.

Had a quick glance on StubHub but they're $135 there too.

Get yourself down to the Meadowlands for the Patriots game in November - only $29!

No chance their $29. That must be for the parking or someone at the fiddle. In saying that, they'll be giving them away (tickets) if this **** keeps up :fuming:

What happened to the Jets lol?

Been predicting this since before pre-season. We are a team going no where and fast. Anyone who thinks we will even come close to a winning record this year is dreaming.

The worst offensive performance I've ever seen by an NFL team - horrific stuff, ended up switching over to red zone.

Horrific isn't even the word. Can't even lay the blame on Sanchez or even Tebow. Having Greene as our starting RB is always going to hurt us and our WR's SUCK. The 49ers are good but to be shut out at home is a ducking joke :brickwall.

Yeah, I think that's accurate. It's a shame they can't stream them live via the Iplayer actually. I was in bed and couldn't get to sleep last night owing to death by cold/cough and resorted to the laptop for a few hours but didn't find it in the end.

They stream the games live through their website so don't know how you couldn't find it . If you've got a PS3 you can also watch it through the BBC sports app. For one reason or another, the catch up is only available at certain times and you can be half way through watching the game and they just pull the plug on it.

We tried out damndest to throw that away tonight but a good win against a quietly impressive Denver side.

Brady and Welker connected well tonight (fantasy bonus!) and I thought Ridley, Woodhead and Vereen were outstanding on the ground (with the exception of Ridley's fumble which thankfully wasn't as costly as it might have been!).

Converted some huge 3rd and longs tonight with Welker and Woodhead deserving major plaudits there. Still some areas of concern in our defense for me but we look like we're improving week on week.

Stunned that the Colts beat Green Bay!

To be fair, Tebow looked quite good when he was on the field. There was a few times when I expected him to be out there but he wasn't. We aren't going anywhere this season so would like to see what he could do with even just a few full sets of downs.

Addition by subtraction i.e., the subtraction of Sanchez made everyone look better. Seriously, I know what you mean. It would be nice, for a Jets fan, to see Tebow get a shot rather than just running in for one play. As a Pats fan I hope that the QB problems persist. :-)

Bit of an unpredictable start to the season. Packers lose to the Colts, then go on to whoop the Texans. Colts beat the Packers, then get destroyed by the Jets, who, erm, lost to the Texans (who'll probably beat the Colts) :faint:

It's Brilliant Isn't it

I'd wondered if it might be an error owing to the fact that I have the Pats set as one of my favourite teams on my profile, therefore it highlights them, but a quick glance at the NCAA standings shows it doesn't do the same with Michigan.

That does make more sense. Maybe I should start using the NFL website when I update this then!

I reckon it'll be very tight right down to the wire in all honesty. A lot of the divisions are a lot tighter and highly competitive. The NFC West is particularly exciting as I personally thought the 49ers would have stormed away with their division!

Probably just a slight oversight from ESPN to be honest. Yeah it's changed days for the NFC West, it's only a couple of years back when a team with a losing record was getting into the playoffs from that division. I'm still liking my Giants predicition for the NFC though, that was an impressive win against SF.

What to make of today's games so far?

The two best teams in the AFC, in my opinion, currently playing and it's the Texans that are absolutely destroying the Ravens! Would like to see them running the ball with Foster a bit more as I need the fantasy points! Ravens just lost the ball again - can't get anything going on offense! That guy J.J Watt looks some player for Houston.

Good comeback from the Saints in Tampa too.

What an ending to the Saints game as well!

Was the correct call. Glad we are now 2-4. Big game this week against the Broncos. A win there and we can maybe salvage this season.

It wont get any easier for him now Burlesons broken his leg. Megatron was being constantly double teamed as it was and now Stafford (who was rotten again) is running out of targets. Who who have thunk it, Vikings contenders, Lions potential first draft pick in 2013?

My peseason prediction Bears looking very decent so far. Cutler is a proper tough QB.

UNC and Duke? Clearly these guys are just too excited about college hoops starting back up next week

As am I! Give me NCAA basketball over its football counterpart any day of week! :aok:
