A fair approach :agree:

I was totally undone in fantasy during play today - major injuries to both Dennis Pitta and Alfred Morris have made for a bad day at the office.

Looking forward to the Seahawks vs Broncos game - if Denver could shut them out and amass fumbles and interceptions aplenty, I'll be a happy bunny :greengrin

Great stuff. Chancellors interception was the highlight for me. Carroll knows the game much better than I do, but its time we moved Sherman during the game imo. They were targetting Thurmond and he needed some variety.

or is it half a point for a draw lol im forgetting the old set-up

They each get one possession in OT, unless the team with possession first scores a TD. It is exciting, but I agree that maybe a tie should be recognised.

Just watched the Jets Bears highlights, looks like the Jets were on the wrong end of some bad decisions. And in general the refs are penalising any sort of big hit, (on the Jets TD the Bears corner hits the receiver with the ball hard on the goalline in the chest area, which any good player does to stop a TD. The receiver breaks the goalline anyway and the refs throw a flag). 15 yard penalty for a nothing play. The 49ers game the other night was the same, it must be impossible to coach a defence these days. It's a contact sport FFS:na na:

Good for him - there are some teams it can't be easy supporting in the NFL and I don't grudge any fanbase enjoying seeing their team do well - we follow the sport for those moments after all.

I benched Brady for Bridgewater last week. That was a good move but then Teddy got injured. I still don't like Brady and our O-Line so I picked up the Rams QB. Austin Davis I think his name is. Speaks volumes about how far we've dropped when I'm considering a rookie QB over Brady. I don't know anything about Davis, he might be a 100-year old veteran.

I can understand this, the England team is not attracting fans to the games (friends of mine offered me 9 - yes 9 - free tickets to San Marino. So long as I punched them all through they got their points for the big games, home is now more points than away) 3 NFL games are practically sold out. Add in that it is around 4 hours per game, beer can be sold and consumed in the seats plus extra food...

If an NFL team played all their home games in London and could attract 70k+ per game, it makes sense for the bean counters at Wembley (and believe me from working with/for them that is all they are interested in) to ditch England and accept the NFL.

Could a franchise keep up those numbers? I don't believe so. However I feel it is no co-incidence that the Jags owner bought Fulham and the Rams owner is the majority shareholder in Arsenal. A franchise IS coming, no doubt in my mind, however it remains to be seen if people will back 8+ games a season at 70k+ levels.

key words there are "could" and "if" :greengrin cant see it myself, theres loads of NFL fans in UK/Europe but how many would become "new" franchise fans for the long run if such a franchise came to london? enough to fill wembley 8 times a year every year? doubt it myself, the attraction of NFL teams coming to london is the chance for us fans to see our fancied teams in the UK every so often or to engage and be part of the NFL experience, im a Saints fan with a spot spot for the Browns, im not not gonna support a new team just cos their relative speaking on my doorstep, Germany would be a better bet for a new franchise team seeing as they had if my memory serves me right 3 teams in the euro league, Rhein Fire and frankfurt Galaxy another, maybe because of the number of US armed forces personell present at the time they had the demand, problem for Germany is english isnt the 1st language spoken, interesting all the same.

I agree yet I find it no co-incidence that the Jags bought Fulham. A franchise will fill 30,000 per week in the long run, not 70k+.

It is coming, If they wanted one in Germany then they would be playing games there no?

I think it'll happen but would never change my team. I'd use it like the current games to pick and choose which teams i see. Would love to see the eagles over here for a game.

Don't think it would work. You need to take into account that most fans who go to the games don't live in London. There's 1000s of fans who travel from all over Europe who attend. Are they gonna travel for every home game? Forget the likes of Barcelona and Berlin. How many folks are gonna travel from Glasgow and Edinburgh every game? Also, all these fans already follow a team. If that team is one of the 8 teams coming over then is it not likely that that's the game their gonna plump for and make a weekend off? Reckon any team would be in an eastern division. That would mean playing the likes of either us or the giants, the eagles or the steelers, the fish or the patsies. I know what game I'd be going to and I wouldn't be waving a union jack at it. Which is another thing. Call it english, london anything and you've lost half your target fan base.

Fair comment DH. At the minute, I can freely say I would go and watch the games as a fan of the game and regular NFL is something I would cherish.

However, I say that from the luxury of being 40 miles out of London right now where getting to Wembley is easy. Chances are, future employment will take my back to Scotland and I wouldn't then make the trip for every game down here. I'd be selective and come down when New England visited or a decent, exciting team such as the Seahawks or Packers were here.

I think, however (and this isn't aimed at you) the use of the 'failure of NFL Europe' as a strong argument for why a regular NFL presence wouldn't work is silly. The NFL Europe tried to overexpand in an era when the NFL didn't receive regular, excellent coverage like it does now. The number of fans of the sport across Europe continues to grow and I do think fans of the existing NFL teams combined with those who would love to support a 'home' team would result in the stadium being full or nearly full on a bi-weekly basis. They would perhaps need to revise the pricing right enough as people aren't going to pay NFL season ticket prices for just 8 events - eventually that novelty would wear off and it will become like any other sport where the uniqueness of the event becomes subsumed by its regularity.

:agree: This is why I think the Jags owner bought Fulham, smaller venue and easier to fill in the event of his franchise moving to London.

I agree with Scotts point, I would go every week to the London team however I live 5 miles or so from the boundary of London so it is easy for me to do so, however I completely understand why you may not be able to do the same. This again returns to the smaller stadium argument, in the event of a franchise move the demand will be lower for the 8 games than currently.

However, fans from Barcelona could commute to every game, I read an article about a guy who rented in BCN and flew every day on easy Jet for his 6 month placement in London as it was cheaper! :greengrin

So you guys wouldn't go every week if you were still staying in Dundee or Musselburgh :)
Not to sure about the fulham link either. What does craven cottage hold? Doubt its 30k but even if it is, why would the nfl sanction a team to play there. Its a dump for a start. Wouldn't look good on broadcasts back to the US at all. Then there's the 30k fans angle. Surely the nfl would want a team who can attract way more than that. Plenty of places in the US where they could form a franchise and get way more. Also got to figure that Toronto (maybe the bills won't like that) or mexico city could be in with a shout?

Nope, if I wasn't near I wouldn't go so much. Pick and choose.

Fulham is a dump nowadays but could be an easy option until either the Olympic Park or Wembley were more viable?

Or Khan has it that they would get funding for a new stadium to share between Fulham and the NFL franchise. Personally I see that as being the most likely option - why would a self made billionaire business man buy a football club with a ***** stadium when a club in the same city is getting a state of the art stadium for basically free?

I want to see all 32 teams play but again that'll be hard (after oct game I'll have seen 10) Anyone seen more or even all 32?

I wouldn't, no. Tickets will still be £35 at cheapest per game and then you'd factor in the cost of travelling down to London and back for every other game...financially, for me, it wouldn't be doable.

I do reckon that there's enough interest around the London area and parts of the UK where it's easier/cheaper to get to London who would result in near sell-outs on a weekly basis.

Imagine for example if there were a run of games that included Green Bay, Seattle, New York Jets, New England, New Orleans, Philadelphia...

Fans of all of those teams would scramble for tickets in addition to those who would adopt the new UK team. Maybe becomes a bit harder when fixtures begin to have lesser supported teams such as the Rams, Jaguars, Bucs or Texans...

Only other guy to do it is Jim Brown, possibly the best of all time. He's getting the ball so many times this season already, hopefully his body can take it. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go down with a wear n tear type injury later in the season.

No arguments whatsoever - thought we were lucky in the end and I would have had no complaints had that FG attempt sailed through.

I thought we started very well but in typical Patriot fashion, we slipped into abysmal before too long and your running game ripped us to bits.

No gloating either as I fully understand how hard that must have been to take - relief is an understatement!
