Brock Osweiler released by Browns and signed by Denver. Joe Webb (who?) Signed by the Bills as backup QB. Colin Kaepernick still unsigned...
I know that Osweiler is a cheap option (Browns have to pay over £15m of his £16m salary this season, but seriously with the D Denver has and players like Thomas and Sanders they'd have a serious shot at the Superbowl this year with Kaepernick. Peyton Manning managed to take them to a superbowl while not being able to throw a pass over 10 yards accurately...
I think that elway believes that Lynch is just as good as kap. Similar style of qb. Simien actually looked good at times last year when the o line performed. We've invested in the o line this year so fully expect us to be better. Lynch is injured hence the signing of osweiler. He will get cut when lynch is up to speed. He's being paid the league minimum so very cheap.

Yeah I get that, he's not costing them much at all and will likely be cut again. But Elway would sign Osweiler before Kaepernick even if he needed a starter or a longer term backup, let's not pretend otherwise.

I honestly have no idea how it will go, for me it will all be down to how the Green Bay defence holds up. It can either be solid or non-existent on any given day.

Game has been moved to week 11 when both teams, coincidentally, were due to have their bye week. No other realistic option IMO much as I'm gutted we now go all season without a bye. At least we don't lose another home game by playing at a neutral venue, but this also means that we don't have 1st home game until October 12th vs Tennessee.
Dolphins can't catch a break this off season.

I wore a Chargers powder blue jersey with LA Galaxy 5 on it to the last Galaxy game at the Stubhub. No disrespect to Cardel Jones but they are first to five MLS Cups. Melvyn Gordon signed my 28 shirt and Nigel Harris knocked a wee dram back the other night with us. He looks promising and made the 53 as an undrafted.
The worst blunder I made was to obtain EMMY's tickets (which are not on sale to public) for my wife the day after her birthday forgetting Chargers play the Dolphins. No drinking at that game and a made rush to Microsoft Theatre for 5pm start on the EMMY's. It would be much easier to live in a fantasy.

5 times we've won it without going undefeated so that's not the biggest concern...
...what IS the biggest concern (for everyone else) is how BB and The GOAT react to the defeat.
It's not a sprint, it's a marathon. A brutal one at that.
And one BB is good at being getting in the mix when it comes to the end.

Well, if you're going to get pumped at home at some point in the season, I suppose Game 1 is the time to do it.
Problems all over the field, that, left unaddressed, will see us struggle a lot more than anyone expected. At the same time, it's probably not a bad thing, because I was getting a little fed up with some of the crowing on social media about us going undefeated!
Even without Ware, Kansas look a very good unit, though our defense would have made anyone look good last night. Onto the next!

Having AP and not using him is really starting to annoy me. Just hand him the ball 20 times a game and see what happens. When we only run him 5-6 times a game we are basically sign posting that every time hes in is a run up the middle.
As for the defence giving away 1025 yards in 2 games is some kind of video game numbers. Thats also with the pats with the foot off the gas for a whole half.

I'm wary about dragging politics into this thread.
However the content of the entire speech was interesting. He acknowledged his healtcare reforms were doomed to fail, admitted he will have to compromise and do deals with Democrats to move other legislation along and proposed tax cuts for the establishment he supposedly hates. Who's talling about all that though? A 'patriotic' tirade against wealthy black athletes is a near perfect snokescreen and he sent the crowd home in a frenzy whilst throwing the spotlight on the league and the teams.

I agree that we should keep politics off here, but it's hard when it's so obviously part of the story. I agree with pretty boy that Trump is using it as a diversion from how he's failing as president. And it just confirms what I've been thinking, that things that were unacceptable a few years ago are now considered acceptable, like putting limits on the supposedly 'inalienable' rights of free speech and freedom of expression! The league and the players union have responded exactly right in telling him to gtf, and I'm proud of the Seahawks' statements which talk about supporting the players 'battle for equality' in society.
The Seahawks social media feeds are full of posts demanding Michael Bennett is fired from the team, people saying they're not going back to clink until players 'respect the flag and the military' this is the majority of posts. Even assuming most of them are trolls, it's still weird.

Protests, abuse and derision all around the league today.
Seahawks and Titans stay in the locker room, before entering the field to a loud chorus of boos from the Tennessee how crowd. Pittsburgh stay in the locker room too, and many more players than normal take a knee.
Like the rest of you, I don't want to delve into the politics, but good on these players, the league, the team owners etc for all standing together in the face of the most odious creature to ever hold office. It seems the fans are split down the middle, calling for boycotts etc - good - **** off, and don't come back. Your hardcore "patriotism", ignorance and racist apologism are cancerous :agree:

I'm getting REALLY hacked off with the NFL's social media pages just now (either the NFL, NFL Memes, teams/players).
They're absolutely swamped by morons incessantly barking on about kneeling, disrespect, boycotts etc.
It's the efforts to disguise their objections as 'disrespect' that's bothering me. That's not the reason at all, because otherwise you'd be bothered that the flag is strewn out horizontally across the pitch in the first place.
Let's stop pretending your objections are based on anything other than race, wave cheerio to you as you 'stop following' the league/your old team (good for you, you can light a fire), and good riddance!

Same here. It seems like there's an orchestrated campaign of online deluge going on. Literally thousands of rightwing tweets, Facebook comments etc. It's fascinating in a way; this is the way that politics gets done these days. But of course it's about race, that's what CK was doing when all this started, drawing attention to police brutality, racism and poverty, but now everyone's talking about 'anthem protests' like people are anti anthem or anti military, when that has the square root of f all to do with the issues being protested against.
Seahawks net doesn't allow any political talk now because of the inability of people in the US these days to disagree amicably. You can understand why.

I'm 1-2 with Miami at Wembley and have yet to see a good game. The Giants games was one of the worst football games I have ever seen in our 1-15 season, we beat a poor Raiders side and were utterly abysmal against a pretty poor Jets team a couple of years ago. Hopefully me missing out will be the spark for both a decent game and a decent Dolphins performance.

Watching the Bears vs Packers highlights: if that Bears defender (Trevathan?) doesn't get a lengthy ban for his ludicrous helmet hit , the Bears should severely hammer him. Absolutely disgraceful hit. Packers receiver was KO'd on impact.

I've no idea what Trevathan was thinking with that one. Devante was wrapped up by 1 or 2 other Bears and was going absolutely nowhere. Helmet to helmet on a defenceless player. Player and team should be hammered to discourage these type of hits as much as possible.

Actually shocked by just how bad we are. Our secondary was always going to be an issue but when they spend almost the entire second half on the field then you can't expect them to keep making plays. Limiting a Saints offence to 20 points should give you half a chance of winning the game but that brings me to our offence.
We have a talented running back and a talented receiving unit but the O line is once again an issue. The quarterback situation is farcical. We have a guy who looks both disinterested and woefully short of match practice. Some of those passing attempts in the last drive would have been laughed at on a high school field. You can argue the Saints defence has been good but we were almost shut out by the Jets last week Ffs.
I'd be tempted to stick Matt Moore in. He's unspectacular but usually a steady Eddie and no way can he be worse than a shot Jay Cutler.

We're downright garbage. At this rate, I genuinely would not be surprised if Buffalo find a way to win the AFC East. Our defense is as bad as I can remember for a long time now, both on the ground and through the air.
I say that, not as a simple knee-jerk reaction to today's loss, but on the cumulative evidence of our first 4 games where we've been cut open time, and time again.
I remember the Bledsoe days, and the period where we consistently were one of the worst teams in the league, and I'm quite sure THAT team would give this season's team a game.

You can buy any cheap ticket and just waltz in and sit in our premium seats. Thats what all the opposition fans have been doing. The Eagles absolutely owned our stadium and I had to respect their passion. LA fans are fickle and tend to follow winning teams.
Paolo Alto is very close to the 49ers and also San Jose Earthquakes but a long drive to LA. Better to catch a cheap flight from SFO to LAX and you are almost there. Tickets are easy for me to get.

I’m not ordinarily the type to take the piss regardless (I haven’t even been nippy about the Jets despite the widespread derision I’m the preseason), but part of the reason I wasn’t ripping into you is because we’ve looked poor despite finding ways to win. If I had to spend three hours watching crap like the colts and the whiners play I'd probably walk out in disgust as well.
I can't even watch the media coverage of the racism protests anymore. It's nothing to do with the military or the flag you ****ing morons. Every single time the players say it's nothing to do with the flag or the military it makes the dead of thinking ignore the players even more.

I've reached peak bull**** with it too. I avoid all comment sections on NFL social media now, as you can predict the top comments.

That 4th quarter between Green Bay and Dallas was fantastic to watch. I didn't think the Packers could come back from that drive but Rodgers showed everyone how it's done.

I’m not ordinarily the type to take the piss regardless (I haven’t even been nippy about the Jets despite the widespread derision I’m the preseason), but part of the reason I wasn’t ripping into you is because we’ve looked poor despite finding ways to win. Something serious needs to give, as it’s becoming the norm. Both Speight and O’Korn will never be NFL QBs. They’re poor!
You’ll slaughter us if we play how we played last night.
You can take the P all you want. Jets have already won 3 games this year and to be fair, its 3 games more than I thought they would. We've got an easy game next week as well so batter in :flag:

Trubiskys mechanics are excellent, although I suppose the fumble and interception sort of cost them the game. They won't be troubling the playoffs teams anytime soon.

I saw nothing in their roster at the start of the season. To be honest, I still don't. Credit where it's due though, they've obviously used the gloom and doom punditry to fire up the players.

If we had any sort of defence and running game I would say we had an outside shot at the play offs but we have neither. It's all down to the QB play.

Another week with an absolutely lacklustre performance.
With no disrespect to them (because they played a great first half), against a better team than the Jets, we'd have been ripped to shreds today. Our pass defense is as bad as I can ever remember (including the pre BB/TB era), and our offense can't get going.
And when I look at the schedule coming up, I see no 'easy' games: Denver, Oakland, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and then our divisionals.

It certainly does.
And because I can't multi quote, I agree Scott. I thought with 10 days to prepare we'd be much better today.
