I find it interesting that you say 'the success that Spurs had in recent years' - I personally don't think Spurs have been all that successful over the last few years. A run of top 4 finishes and a CL final is obviously a decent return but no trophies to show for their efforts is pretty poor IMO.
Finishing above Arsenal is their sole incentive. To be fair they endured about a half-life avoiding this achievement, so maybe understandable they see this as success.

Liverpool had enough to win it. I'd be raging if I was a Spurs fan , Mourinho's tactics were terrible.
He won't last long there.
Fans will turn on the board before they turn on Mourinho. These tactics were deemed as tactical masterclasses by people when Mourinho was winning multiple trophies. Lloris, N'Dombele, Sissoko and Kane all out injured with Eriksen showing no interest (no idea why he is being given game time just now).
The board should have backed Pochettino in the summer by getting rid of the likes of Rose, Dier, Aurier, Wanyama, Eriksen and Vertonghen who are either not good enough anymore or don't want to be at the club. If they did that and replaced those players with better quality (E.g Dybala) then there would never have been a situation where you find it necessary to sack Pochettino.
I highly doubt that Mourinho would have took the job if he felt as if he wouldn't be given the finances to improve the team and move on the dead wood. He's no mug, he knows exactly what the problems are but is not going to come out and blame names to the media to unsettle the team in a season where he has to use what he has got.
I fully expect Spurs to make big changes to the squad in the summer and Mourinho will have his own team playing the way he wants to play challenging at the top end of the table. He doesn't win Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues playing ***** football, that's for sure.

I think Liverpool just want it more this year. City have also had to contend with more injury issues and squad changes. Both extremely talented squads, but I think if you’d asked either of those teams to swap trophies last season they’d have done it in a heartbeat.

Liverpool have had as many injuries but have a stronger more balanced squad. Alisson missed a few games and it didn't matter. Fabinho has missed loads and they have coped. Klopp has assembled a better squad on a fraction of what peps had. That's why they are so far ahead and pep knows this hence he's given up on winning the league.

Doubt it because Liverpool are going to win the league this season and City probably aren't going to win the Champions league (could happen but all the good sides through and they wouldn't beat Liverpool over 2 legs)

I think the goal difference is revealing. Man City are so many points behind now, Liverpool now have the best start in the history of major leagues (Alkmaar and Celtic are the only teams with a better start) but weirdly, City have the GD lead. So many times this season Liverpool have scored second half to edge teams 2-1, 1-0, while you feel like City's 6-1, 8-0 strolls can be followed by stumbles the following week. Liverpool just have more belief. From Klopp through the entire team there's just positivity and belief, you can see it.

I just watched the highlights, fantastique. Neymar an absolute joy to watch. It's all a bit contrived though, PSG are a ridiculously misshapen team playing 4 superstars who refuse to defend. They're only doing it to keep them all happy, and because they know it's good enough to win ligue 1, but it's why they will struggle to win the champions league and why they will continue to be a pretend, plastic club.
Big billion euro TV deal in France looks like it will change the balance, more money to be shared out means more competition and good news for Lyon Marseille etc.

I watched something a few weeks ago where Michael Owen said that he had once been fouled against Argentina but stayed on his feet, he asked Pierluigi Collina why he didn't give a penalty and he told him it was because he didn't go to the ground. 5/10 minutes later Pochettino made some contact and he went to the ground, the ref then gave a penalty. I think that's why a lot of players do it. Similar thing happened recently where an Everton player was being fouled but stayed on his feet and wasnt awarded a penalty.

It's amazing, but they've actually chosen literally THE most boring tie of the entire line-up. Every other game would be more entertaining to watch and there's a few really interesting ones among the 3pm kickoffs - Hearts v Airdrie (Murray causing a potential upset?), St Mirren v Broxburn, Bonnyrigg v Clyde, East Kilbride v Glasgow (all ties involving non-league clubs, which have amazing atmospheres), hell even the all-Championship ties would at least be close games.
But nah. We get to watch Rangers kick the **** out of Stranraer in front of a quarter-full crowd, Morelos being the best thing since sliced bread for scoring 4 goals against a team who probably have a budget 0.0001% of his wage, and Stevie Gee being hailed as the messiah who will definitely bring silverware back to Ibrox, definitely, this time.

finding it hugely difficult to get a proven goal scorer in january, i've said time and again leeds need so many chances because the qulity up front is absolutely dire, he also needs to get shot of the only striker they do have in the summer, who's just missed with a dreadful penalty, what a waste of 7m bamford has been.

When Hibs finally completed their 114-year wait to win the Scottish Cup in 2016, they passed an unwanted baton on to Dundee. Now the fingers point towards the next big club who haven't won the cup since the days of horse-drawn trams.
Not since 1910 have Dundee brought the trophy back to Tayside. City rivals Dundee Hibernian were less than a year old and still 13 years away from changing their name to United. Their 110-year wait has been made more difficult by twice peeking out of the curtains to see the silverware arrive a little further up Sandeman Street decorated in the tangerine and black ribbons of their city rivals.
