**** off you silly hun twat

Why is this idiot allowed on the tv?

Commons just as bad talking about how the ref acted. The Christie challenge would have not only looked but would have sounded horrific as he caught him square on the shinpad. I don't even think the livi one should have been a red as his tackling foot is on the ground. Sounded like a paranoid celtic supporter

If you're going to take Holt, you'd have to take Martindale. He's been there throughout the success. Would we accept an ex gangster?

I would, by the way.

He also picks the team.

Probably because the whole Newco/new club chat, while being factually correct, is more an internet thing or something to wind your mates up about. Don’t think anyone in the real world really pays it much attention anymore, IMO.

It was an out of control two footed lunge on Hayes. What were you and Collum watching?

Quite willing to accept that Liverpool are a cracking side under Klopp, they play some brilliant football but just genuinely didn't think that was a penalty yesterday.

If I was a ref these days, I'd never give a penalty unless it was absolutely stick-on. You can see the forwards are play-acting nine times out of ten on the replay.

They're all at it!

Yeah think it was eight, they had a game in hand, won that to take it five points then beat us to take it to three. It’s nowhere near over, Liverpool will drop points I just hope City continue to do so also. Liverpool now have the experience of winning the CL again that could make a huge difference.

Me too. They chose Lennon once they stumbled to the cup win, he then ****ed them out the champions league - not only did that lose them £millions but it also gives Rangers a massive boost in the league that they aren’t playing Sunday catch up football.

The fixture list was out well before Celtic bottled it again Cluj too so they can’t even use that as an excuse. If they made the champions league it would have been early Saturday matches, pressure on the huns every Sunday, now they have to come into Sunday games puffed out from Europe mainly away.

Lennon was the cheap option and it will come back to haunt them the same way as it did Rangers when Walter Smith said he was leaving at the end of the season, they sold Gazza in Jan and Laudrup signed a pca with Chelsea. Both clubs will throw away the ten.

Our 6-1 doing at Ibrox is starting to look par for the course for teams going there this season.

I said earlier this season that we wouldn’t be the only team to get absolutely ****ged at Ibrox and had a good few posters repeatedly bring it up when they didn’t pump anyone in their next couple of home games.

5 home games in and they’ve won 3 of them by 5 goals. Like 90+2 said, doesn’t make our result any less embarrassing, but they’ll do that many more times over the course of this season.

I’m certain they’ll win something this season, whether it’s the league or not I’m not sure. But no way will Celtic win another treble imo.

They’ve done that numerous times in the past and look where it has got them. It’s made them actually worse than better. Plus what world class player out there would want to come? I can’t think of one tbh that would be very appealed to join.

They have a £50M Brazilian in Fred that makes Josh Vela look good and an English Christian Doidge up front in Marcus Rashford.

Won’t make a difference who they bring in next. It’ll be the same s***, different manager. We’ve sacked managers before, nothing will change with a new man at the helm.

The guy that needs punted out instantly is Ed Woodward along with the Glazers. They are taking it down.

Whilst they continue to pay wages of around £200-300,000 per week then they'll continue to attract players. Maybe not players of the calibre of Messi or Mbappe but players that will get them well away from relegation if that happened to be a remote possibility by January.

Didn’t West Ham get relegated with a team including Di Canio, Defoe, Joe Cole, Carrick, David James, Les Ferdinand, Bowyer, Kanoute, Lomas and Trevor Sinclair ? A squad packed with international players and some among the best in the league got relegated so it can definitely happen.

You take out Pogba and Martial and we don’t look good enough to even score let alone win games, I don’t think we can keep blaming injuries anymore. With Wan-Bisakka and Maguire both in the team we look far better defensively than we have in years but we’re woeful in midfield and worse up top.

Our upcoming league games are Liverpool who are flying next then that’s followed by two away games so we could very realistically lose all three games and end up second bottom (don’t see Watford overtaking us over that period) which then kills all (if any is left) confidence the club has and the rot will set in.

Young, Jones, Rojo, Bailly, Fred, Matic, Pereira, Lingard and Mata are all players that need to be gotten rid of and then all need to be replaced on top of the replacements we needed to bring in for Sanchez and Lukaku and then we need to put a proper structure in place

Part of me hopes we do get relegated just so the ****ing Glazer’s are run out of the club and closely followed by Woodward as they’ve overseen the destruction of the club and done it in record time, we were league champions only SEVEN ******g years ago.

Arsenal had no choice, they definitely didn't let him go. He also wasn't anywhere near this good and probably wouldn't have been.

Arsenal had Sanchez, Chamberlain and Walcott at the time, he didn't look like he was going to offer more than any of them so was loaned out. They tried to renew his contract for years but Bayern apparently had their claws into him and his agent.

Maybe it's just me, but that looks like a garbage team on paper.

I don't have a problem with that, as I believe Steve Clarke needs to experiment to find some sort of a blend for the playoffs. I'd rather he was starting with players like Porteous than 28 year olds like Fleck but Clarke needs freedom to experiment.

The right side of that defence looks woeful though, and I have no idea where a goal is going to come from. We'll probably manage to make excellent players like Robertson, Fraser and McGinn look poor to average as usual, which they are not.

Paterson moved to central midfield about 20 months ago but still played right back (& striker) from time to time when needed. I didn't mean they all play in the same position but the 3 players you mention & McGregor are all left footed, means they're all going to be turning into the same space.

I've been one of those that said that England will win a major tournament in the next 10 years. Whilst last night was a poor display, I still believe they will.

Whilst I obviously hope they don't, at least they have a FA that sets far reaching goals and reaching a Semi Final is proof that they are going in the right direction.

That said, last night was the first time I've actually sat and watched a full England game. Gosh, they were poor.

I think the BBC sums it up nicely with the summary below.

Any hope the defensive uncertainty that characterised England's victory against Kosovo had been successfully addressed was banished inside the first 10 minutes in Prague.

Pickford saved brilliantly from Coufal as the Czech Republic responded to England's early salvo but there was the trademark confusion at the resulting corner which ended with Brabec stabbing home from close range.

England lived dangerously throughout and it was not a shock when they finally conceded late on.

Everton's Michael Keane struggles desperately at this level while full-backs Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier hardly covered themselves in glory either.

Harry Maguire looks the one staple in defence but he does not exude confidence either.

In other words, quality sides will relish facing this England defence and Southgate is running out of time to apply the fix.

Looking at the remaining fixtures for that group and the standings, Norway have a very good shout of qualifying automatically from that group. Next game is against Romania but their final two matches are against Malta & Faroe Islands. Both Romania and Sweden still have to play each other and Spain. If they do qualify automatically, don’t know who will take their place in the playoffs? They are in the same section as us.

Finland also look a good shout as well but it’s been confirmed Bulgaria will take their place if Finland qualify automatically.

If Finland and Norway both qualify through their groups, Bulgaria and Israel would be the teams who would go into the play offs along with us and Serbia.

Serbia have an outside chance of qualifying automatically but i'd say it's unlikely.

It's exactly the same country they had to change their name as Greece complained about them being called Macedonia as there's a Greek region called Macedonia that they wanted to be known separately from the country.

It's the old FYR Macedonia but under a new name. Greece has a region called Macedonia and the two countries have been in dispute over the name for decades.

Every day is a school day. Chees for the info.

We're helping them by constantly kicking away possession.

Nah, at least they’ve got a bit of character about them.

I'm not a great rugby fan, but that was a fantastic watch for me. Both teams gave their all, and some of the rugby looked to the untrained eye very very good.

Irrelevant though. Its a football thread on the football part of the board. Discussion around grown adults chasing an egg and hugging each other for 80 minutes should be posted about in a relevant part.

4 games on the telly in a row today, btw.

I thought it would give some a lift, watching a Scotland team with a bit of heart and fight about them.

It’s the World Cup ffs, gies peace.

Oh and it’s over now anyway 😂
