And Heckingbottom took Lennon’s bottom 6 side into the top 6. Let that sink in.
Anyway this turning into a Lennon love-in for some reason. Is anyone watching the Rangers game? It’s murder.
Yes, The Rangers have just cleared a Porto shot of the line.

My mistake then, thought we'd made it to 17th, maybe Croatia just overtook us and serbia
Yes, Croatia jumped over us last night, but think based on Celtic alone tonight we will go back over Croatia and certainly above Serbia.
As you said, incredibly close up to about 15th.

His record at Celtic is also totally irrelevant to his collapse at Hibs. Which is all hibs fans care about. Not his results for Celtic against Lazio.

Actually, it seems that quite a few people are interested in his results for Celtic against Lazio.
That's only to be expected given that he was our manager only 9 months ago.

We can’t have it both ways. We can’t root for them in Europe purely to boost the coefficient, which, fair enough, a lot of folk on here want and at the same time despise them and wish them all the bad luck in the world in the domestic scene. Success in Europe is more than likely going to breed even more success in the Premiership making the rest of the clubs like us pale into relative obscurity. Should we wish them success on the meagre chance we pick up a few occasional scraps of European football or should we enjoy their failure, which is more likely to result in happier times for us domestically. I know what I wish for.

Celtc and Rangers could get dumped out of Europe in the first qualifying rounds for the next 10 years and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to the domestic gap. They have a fanbase that dwarves every other club in Scotland, and not only that, two fanbases that will turn up out of ideology as much as a love of club. They've both weaponised the sectarian/political elements of their supports and turned it into their base, cash revenue stream. Even without the European money, it's not a gap the rest of us can bridge, no matter what we (or any other club in Scotland) do.
My remaining hope is that the two of them eventually bugger off out of Scottish football, but then what? Like it or not, those mutants are the main selling point of our game, and a key reason we have a deal of any value with broadcasters. Take the Ugly Sisters out of the SPFL and we'd be a league akin to the Irish or Welsh leagues. Certainly in the eyes of Sky, BT, Premier Sports etc.
Ach, I don't know what the answer is to closing the gap and becoming competitive. I'm nihilistic, and genuinely don't think there is an answer, so may as well console myself with the prospect of an away trip to somewhere sunny next summer (well, A summer...next summer isn't happening...) as we struggle against some European "minnows" that are primed to humiliate us. Results like tonight make that much more of a possibility with extra places and entrance in later qualifying rounds. But I AM conflicted, as I can't stomach seeing either of them win, let alone their parasitic fans enjoying themselves on such evenings.

He was finished at us, had lost it & wasn’t turning it round.
There was nothing wrong with Lennon at Hibs until he lost the plot. He has been open about his mental health issues and I believe that was the issue that affected him. He needed to move on and did do.
No recriminations from me and I suspect from the majority of Hobs fans.

I can understand and accept the pragmatic and logical reasoning of coefficients and all that but at the end of the day I’ve always, maybe selfishly, followed my heart and gut feeling when it comes to supporting football. I only want Hibs to win, couldn’t really care less about other teams, especially the ugly sisters and I’m too old now to start being sensible and broad minded.

Sadly, all you say is correct.
Tonight's positive results for the 2 Scottish teams has today seen Scotland remarkably leap up from 19th to 16th in the UEFA coefficient table.
Not a bad nights work and now less than a draw behind our target of 15th which would see Scotland with 5 European representatives in season 2021/22 instead of the current 4.
At the start of last season Scotland were in a lamentable 26th place! After last seasons performances we had moved up to 20th. Barring mishaps, the next round of European matches will see Scotland in the desirable top 15 places.
In a nutshell Serbia are our only serious challengers for 15th this season. Like us they have 2 representatives (Red Star & Partizan Belgrade) still standing. We are currently more than a win and a draw ahead of them, so advantage Scotland going into the last 2 group stage games.
This season has been a ball breaker for Hibs but a reasonable top 5 league finish next season will likely see us back in Europe for season 2021/22 and hopefully most seasons thereafter. As Sylar said above we are not challenging the big Glasgow teams any time soon whatever happens to them in European competition. Best being positive about it and looking forward to some good and regular European trips following Hibs. Super smashin' great!

Rangers were appalling until they took off Barker who had contributed the square root of **** all.
Within 5 minutes Morelos scored, then they scored a 2nd goal and then they were crap again.
Celtic were all over Lazio in the 2nd half but are lax at the back. Lennon has them very open, scoring and conceding goals in almost equal measure.
Can't say i remember a Scottish team giving an Italian team such a runaround in the last 40 years.

You actually think he's obsessed with you or do you reckon the issue here is you absolutely slating Lennon for weeks, demanding he gets sacked and then smugly starting a thread after Heck won a few games saying "to the people who asked me who I'd replace Lennon with: Paul Heckingbottom is who".

It's even better than it presently looks----Last year we got 6.75 coefficient points, so far this year, 7.5...with the runs those two are on, we MIGHT hit 9. If the next 3 seasons just match LAST season, we'd be around 36 points....which is what Belgium are on right now in 8th. Now I doubt we would realistically hit those heights, but it would leave us securely with 5 European spots, one CL spot guaranteed, and some nice late entries in the qualifiers so we(Hibs) aren't playing in late June against teams half way thru their season, somewhat guaranteed for a few years. Plus regular qualification will invite a better standard of player and, dare I say it, manager. I can tell you the best feeling I have had since May 2016 was John McGinn scoring in Greece, realising we were about to win a testing European tie for the first time in 30 years??

“Cyberstalking is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual”

Started off with the Dundee derby but pretty disappointing to be honest.
Carlisle just gone 2 up at Dulwich, got around 500 Carlisle fans there, pretty impressive for a friday night cup match way down south in Dulwich Hamlet.
Caught a few mins of the Norwich v Watford game that looked quite entertaining, 0-1 Watford at the mo.

Very poor indeed
1 idiot Shouts and then pockets of supporters from both sides show their disgust and/or retaliate
Sadly not the first or the last time this will happen
However, wearing my tinfoil hat, they turn off the pitch mics for minute silences all the time, especially at old firm games, so why wasn’t Dundee given the same treatment
I’m certainly not defending the behaviour of the minority of the fans but these situations can be and are highly edited

For me if he was going to be good enough he would be bursting his way into that team and forcing Stevenson out. He’s not managed that and I can’t see it happening for him. Looks like Shaw and Murray will be the same.
It’s not easy to break through and when you get small chances you have to take them and make it hard for the manager to drop you out again. None of those three have managed that.
They are all now in their 20’s and haven’t broke through yet. It’s likely they will all be playing at a lower level next season. And that will be good for them as well.

Leicester are certs for top four the way they are playing this season. Chelsea have surprised me so far, unsure if they are able to sign players in January but if so it could help them to get top four, they are getting the results against the lower sides but they struggle to take points off the big boys, Man City away for them next.
Arsenal are too weak defensively, Uniteds away form has been horrible and Spurs are needing a total revamp in January.

Yes, you end up with the right result, but there needs to be a time limit on stopping the game for VAR - just as there is in rugby with playing advantage after the ref gives a penalty.
Celebrating great goals are what football is all about and VAR is killing it.

Hands by his side and came off Silvas hand first as well
2-0, never mind
The position of his arm looked as if he was doing star jumps.

not seen the VAR replay of the Salah goal yet, unlike the Sheffield United one yesterday

What about it coming off Silvas hand first? Haven’t seen you mention that as yet

Evidently dear boy
Liverpool hardly touched the ball and are 2-0 up.
This is going to be their year everyone.

Regarding the first goal and the possible penalty to City. Just how farcical would it have been for Liverpool to have the goal chalked off and a penalty awarded at the other end.
I remain a VAR skeptic. For me it just kills the natural flow of the game, VAR decisions are subjective just like the referees on the field.

If Liverpool win this game, they go 9 points ahead of Manchester City. That’s huge!
Couldn’t have asked for anything better and if they don’t go on and win the league this season, then f*** knows if they ever will.
They couldn’t have asked for a better start

However any handball that directly leads to a goal is disallowed. Strange rules

For me VAR is a good thing. It’s in its infancy remember, nothing is ever perfect without being refined.
I personally feel it should be used mostly on an appeals basis and to determine things like the penalty incident we saw earlier.

Two great goals by Liverpool. The game is even, but City's defence isn't good enough here.

I think Neville's overcooking that chat. City's defence isn't that bad, it's the quality of Liverpool. The passing for that second goal is undefendable.

It's was a stonewaller for me, Premier league saying his hands Wernt in an unnatural position..... It defo made his body bigger

I'm not a fan of Stones and Walker. Stones is easily bullied for a big centre back. The City defence is too slow to react; the first goal wasn't closed down at all, and Liverpool look dangerous every time they go forward.

If Liverpool got a penalty in the Champions League final for a handball decision then surely that was also a penalty.
100% but you won’t hear Liverpool or their fans admit that one. That was a penalty no need for VAR ref should have given it instantly.

I think when you lose focus on the beauty of that strike and bang on about closing down for the whole first half you've lost your joy. Just my opinion on Mr Neville.

If they’re not giving a penalty for Deli Ali’s handball last weekend then it was never a penalty.

I agree. Each captain should have 3 challenges per match. Similar to tennis or cricket.
