I would be amazed if US and UK did not have a small amount of people on the ground in Ukraine.
My parent were in Poland last autumn and you could not move in their hotel for the amount of Americans staying there and there were American military all over the town. The one staying in the hotel were not military.

A bigger barrier to publication is the boringness of most of the info. It isn’t really a smoking gun of any kind? It’s mostly just stuff we already know and most other intelligence agencies already know.
All the info is now out there and when his arrest was on the news my wife had no idea what it was all about.

The information was certainly dangerous to Nixon and the Republican Party, but I don't think even Nixon was able to spin it as being a national security threat to America, although he did try in an effort to limit media coverage of the scandal following the Washington Post leak.

Western troops on the ground in Ukraine would likely have been legally declared as a "national security" interest at the beginning of the operation. If it hadn't been, the individual directly responsible for the leak wouldn't be facing any charges.

I'd be happy with any country that did it. There's no clear proof but his story has been laughed off. The most likely I've seen is the story of 5 Ukrainian nationals and 2 Russians that hired a boat, that was leaked from Germany intelligence.

But pretty much every expert on every part of Hersh story has laughed at it from explosive experts to war criminal Girkin. Hersh hasn't even backtracked on the obvious errors like saying Stoltenberg was working heavily with the US throughout the Vietnam war. The fact Stoltenberg turned 16 a week before the last day shows he's just been fed rubbish got excited and not checked the information he's put out.

I've actually not looked into it in a while, oliver alexander and his team of osint geeks have been tracking satellite images and radar and haven’t found anything conclusive but have shown activity near the site in the days before. An absolute mammoth effort from them but a dry read with huge evidence gathering. Nato and Russian ships with suspicious movements. It will probably come out. The biggest interest would be from the obvious 2 ukr/ru. Ukraine to damage their enemy financially and literally severe ties with the west. Russia had already been putting the pipeline down to a crawl and had closed it for months for "maintenance". They were threatened by the German government with being sued over not providing the gas promised pre explosion. Also they regularly taunted Europe over freezing this winter and are still hoping now that economic troubles will push governments to abandon Ukraine.

I wasn’t do much meaning the short term - just that “never” is a long time and cheap fuel will always be desirable to all sorts of folk.

I agree nations will jump back into bed as soon as possible with Russia, we seen that with crimea.

The big things was diversifying the sources of gas particularly Germany. They have done amazingly to do that so Russia will never have power over them again from being the only source to keep them running.

I think politically it will be a decade at least before eu nations public would accept their governments buying fuel though. Hopefully with renewables taking a bigger proportion each year, countries will soon be free from going cap in hand to bams ie Saudi, Iran, US

Satellite image's shows there's been a decent amount of Russian army collapse around Bakhmut. Unsure whether they will successfully make the pincer, although I'd doubt the main thrust will be in that area

Yes, I think most of the experts seemed to think there will be lots of small probing attacks in different places first befor the big attack takes place.

In the US, where I'm mostly living at the moment, 3rd party candidates are being seen as a serious threat. The worry is that somebody less offensive will draw votes off Biden and that Trump will ultimately triumph. While his base are a minority, they're a sizeable one, and there are a lot of anti-Trump Republican voters who would, it's presumed, welcome the opportunity to not vote for Biden. Of course, it might go the other way, but it's being seen as a dangerous strategy.

Russian MOD confirms the have moved back a few kilometres in Bakhmut, although they say it was a tactical retreat. Prighozin says wagner will be unable to hold all of their positions, blames the army. What a crazy day and the biggest loss off Russian aircraft since march last year. Two Mi-8s transport helicopters, one Su-35 and one Su-34 fighter jets shot down, videos and confirmation from Russian news agencies and bloggers.

The crazy thing all were shot inside Russia this morning. There are 3 leading rumours as to what happened.
1st the Russian said accidents then videos came out showing one jet and another helicopter being hit by missles. The Russians have changed the story and TASS is saying Ukrainian saboteurs struck them from inside Russia

2nd Ukraine changed the targeting system on the Air defenses to shoot them down, seems unlikely

3rd is what most are going with. Russia is panicking due to two storm shadow cruise missle strikes hitting Russia in the last two days. Add in drones have been flying into Russia and Air defense controllers have been to shoot on site.

Not sure what's worse for Russia, Air defense panic or Ukraine having the free reign to repeatedly strike inside Russia.

Patriots are just one part of the (IAMD) system. The US has believes it has the defence to knock out hypersonic ICBMs since the 90s.

The biggest issue with supplying F16’s is the infrastructure. They require much longer, smoother runways that Ukrainian currently have for their MiGs. There would need to be work done to fix up airfield.

It’s already a triumph of Ukrainian resolve that they’ve achieved what they have already.

They’re going on the offensive, they will lose kit and people. They’ve shown Russia up to be a backwards, corrupt, ill-prepared nation. They’realready on the run in their own territory from Russians who have been fighting for Ukraine.

I saw a report of the tactical advantage of blowing the dams. It floods the river and surrounding area. Effectively making the Southern flank impassible. The Ruskies can then move men North to counter the Ukrainian thrust.

If you read this thread from Mike Martin that's being updated. Ukraine has 3 or 4 fronts started, 2 in the south, Kherson was never going to be one as he always said.

If you go further down the thread he talks about interior exterior lines. Ukraine has the interior so when they probe up north and then move down south, they can do it much faster than Russia.

Ukraine moved about 60 miles in some places so far, but the main equipment isn't at the front yet so still probes to see what works

Hmm, most making territory claims have at least some evidence to back them up.

I follow quite a few war OSINT war commentators and none of them are making these kinds of claims.

I've seen they have been verified about 16 miles of the 90 it is from going all the way to the coast. That is hopefully about 3 days old, If the osint groups are sticking to holding off reporting for 3 days.

It can be extremely difficult to separate fact from lies on twitter but if I’m even a fraction of what is being posted tonight is true then things could get very messy very quickly for the Russians. I have always got the impression that if Wagner were to pull out of Ukraine the Russians would be struggling big time.

On a more serious note, it's hard to determine what the true context behind that clip is. An APC would usually role in behind a tank on a typical battle field, but that doesn't appear to be the case in this clip. It may be a very routine thing in Moscow at the moment. If that is the case, then it may explain why there's no breaking news surrounding it on mainstream news channels. Then again, it may well indicate something more serious and they're just slow to pick up on it for some reason.
