Ukrainian military strategy seems to have been very smart and targeted these last few months. Even the best army in the world (which Russia is far from) would be ineffective if you cripple their supply chains.

BBC reported earlier that Russia were sourcing arms from North Korea and Iran. Desperate times. I’d be surprised if China weren’t sending much more than we are aware of.

Was watching a few videos by Ukrainians on what’s happening, obviously Ukraine are radio silence about it but they’re picking up info from the Russians about towns/villages they’ve lost and the severe amount of casualties they’re taking .
Ukraine have put the hammer down on Russia all along the front line . They’ve broken through 3 different locations on Kherson front lines , they’ve hit them in Kharkiv and now have a fair number of Russian Elite special forces completely surrounded .
They’ve also captured a bridgehead and a few towns near Izyum and are quite close to the main road Russia use for supplying the area .
They’ve hit them quite hard in a couple of parts of the Donbass .
It looks like 1 of the counter attacks is pretty close to Kherson city from the video , maybe 10 miles .

Nonsense. There was a good long thread on him at the start of the war and many had the same opinion, who knows but it would hardly be surprising a dodgy politician.

He's not a saint he's a war time leader, not a pretend one like boris. Boris hid in a fridge. When Zelensky was told his country was going to fold and he would likely be assassinated, when offered an evacuation he said they needed guns not an escape.

All politicians and punters can play the hero, but if the chances are you were going to die would you still say it.

His country is getting invaded and genocide dealt out to its people and children. You can back the **** that is doing it or the opposition who some say avoided tax.

How many troops do Ukraine have on the ground that are making those advances ?

Whilst Im loving the push back I cant help but feel that the maniac Putin will have some brutal revenge planned. He is a nutter and wont give up, he wont want failure. We need his own people to turn against him and that doesnt appear to be happening

Ukraine has the numerical advantage on soldiers around 200,000. The problem was Russia had a massive artillery advantage, HIMARS, British, German and Polish artillery in particular has changed that, as its far more advanced.

We've been hearing you don't want to anger Putin for 6 months. He's thrown everything he has bar nuclear and mass population mobilisation. He knows its the end if he does either

This offensive is incredible to witness in real time - clearly they have momentum, who knows what could happen in the coming days and weeks. Already on the borders of severodonetsk. Vovchans'k city has fallen Russians have admitted soldiers based there have retreated over the border to Belgorod, they will now have to travel a long way round to get back in the battle

- In Luhansk oblast, AFU entered Lysychans'k and are entering Severodonetsk. Those are 120 km (75 miles) to the east from Izium that was retaken just this morning

DNR/DPR "leader" Denis Pushilin has left Donetsk few hours ago. Possible reason is panic rumors in russian TG channels about AFU paratroopers landed in.. Donetsk airport.
Not yet confirmed. But, this night will bring more news than anyone expected

I wouldn’t be so sure. It’s not a planned withdrawal or they wouldn’t have left all the tanks etc. These guys are running for their life.

Russians are pretty much on foot and Ukrainians are going dozens of miles per day. There won't be regrouping. Unfortunately for the young men it will be a massacre, mixed with hopefully huge amount of prisoners. Its as mad a rush as you can get, leaving all their ammo food and vehicles. If Putin could do anything he would have months ago. He can only hold but that is looking less likely.

It's been said for months that every week Russias army is getting weaker, whilst Ukraine is getting more and more advanced weapons day by day. Add in the have just acquired equipment for thousands of troops

I think twitter is hard to understand from people that are still used to papers. Newspapers nowadays report what twitter has said the day before. It's all about the sources and who you follow. All the journalists you like are on there and they will be reporting in real time before they write up.

The good twitter osint groups make the journalists look victorian when it comes to live reporting. They use nasa firms data which is satellite imagery of all the major fires in the world with a small delay. With this they know exactly where all the artillery has landed in the last 24 hours, it gives a good idea on fighting.

They use satellite imagery itself which with about a 12 hour delay shows destroyed buildings and aircraft.

They geolocate all videos and pictures of troop movements. All good sources will wait for geolocation. If a video shows Ukrainians going through a town in takes them a few hours to completely locate it without doubt.

All decent sources will say I'm waiting for confirmation before posting.

Lastly the Russian sources are confirming what they are seeing, even reluctantly the military are saying they are strategically reversing.

This is moving faster than people could have imagined though so there will be a delay, but it's clear and obvious what's happening.

I wouldn't look at the paper news as they are busy on the queen and don't have the resources to do the job if they wanted to

They were ripping through Russian held territory so fast that every report was out of date before it had even been written . They were apparently running out of fuel because the supply trucks couldn’t keep up with the pace they were advancing. Russians were said to be fleeing on push bikes leaving all their armory and weapons behind for Ukraines army

Russian mod say they have retreated from over 8000km of Ukraine this week. What is amazing as some of the towns liberated have been Russian controlled since 2014!

It's great seeing Ukraine having the Russians on the run, hopefully this ends sooner rather than later. I personally think the Russians will be trying to regroup somewhere to try and hold on to Crimea and maybe some other key areas. I have no knowledge or expertise but that would make sense to me.

When it’s this chaotic though, the political and military objectives will diverging quite a bit. The way things are now, although the area the Russians control has got smaller, the front line they have to defend has actually got longer. And they have less people and weapons to do it.

Doesn't help that there's no news here at the moment, but mainstream isn't reflecting this?

A lot of the tweets I’ve seen are from accounts that I’ve followed throughout the whole war - and they’ve always been spot on. I signed up to Twitter the day Russia invaded because I wanted to keep up with things happening. A lot of them are geolocated too - I think it’s where the use landmarks and Google maps to verify locations.

23 Russian tanks and around 30 IFVs have been visually confirmed to have been captured by the Ukrainian Army during the Kharkiv Offensive.

At least 102 vehicles have been confirmed as captured or destroyed.
