The timing for Hearts could not be worse.

Petrie will be pulling strings as well.

It’s clear they aren’t going to stop Its going to be relentless unless their is a counter media campaign to co yet them and then both parties agree to let the Courts deal with it
But at present Hearts are getting it all their own way so will be interesting to see if they gather other converts or whether the media get fed up with it
But the current vacuum just now is working g in their favour But people will get sick of hearing about it if they have nothing new to say ,and they have done it to death already

Let them get on with it, didn’t work for reconstruction and it won’t work now!

I really hope at the end of all this the Jambos fully understand the real difference between relegation and expulsion... as they would have been through both!

Can you imagine the crowds as Hearts start their comeback in the Sunday leagues!!?

Actually, that's going too far - it would be horrible for any football fan to have their club expelled from the league system.

The shock on Kickback when they lose their case or, more likely, step down from their legal action will be fun enough.

The Jambos being the Jambos they will probably be expecting the EPL to beg them to join them down South. I mean who can afford to miss out on a club that regularly gets 400,000 gates.

I wonder if there’s any precedent for this in world football? I know teams have been demoted, expelled from leagues for financial mismanagement, but expelled for mendacious legal challenges and just overall general ersehole behaviour and being roundly disliked by everyone else? It’s a serious question

You may be joking but over on Brokeback they are discussing that as Bury are now no longer - means "there`s a space available" according to some of them!

You may be joking but over on Brokeback they are discussing that as Bury are now no longer - means "there`s a space available" according to some of them! They don't completely understand the pyramid system in England. If they were supported by sufficient members and the FA wanted a Scottish team that had recently had an administration event in their set up, they'd need to gain entry into the Northern Premier League by election or maybe even qualifying from an even lower level.

They'd be some way off making league two even if they were promoted every year.

Plenty English clubs vying for progression so why would the existing members welcome Hearts and all that entails?

They only need to threaten to expel them. The same as how Hearts are threatening to apply for an interim interdict to stop football from restarting but won't actually do it. Back down or you're expelled.

I'm also sure that the benefactors namely James Anderson won't want anything to do with dragging Scottish football through the courts and in doing so folding many clubs. I've always wanted to see them struggle etc but never out the box completely. I'm now at the stage where I couldn't give a **** if they were no longer here or even in the guise of THE HOMFC.
I've read mostly on here that clubs can't take their association to court and FIFA has the power to force the SFA to take their licence away and stop them from competing in the SPFL and the Scottish Cup. Is there anyone on here who knows for sure if this is fact and has it happened anywhere else?

English has to bear some of the blame for things reaching this point. His unbalanced and irresponsible reporting on a national broadcaster has helped to stir up the Hearts fans into a frezy and left Budge with little option but to go ahead with her misguided legal challenge. He'd do well to stay quiet now before he does any more damage.

What do they say about rats and sinking ships, again? However, I think English is too arrogant and full of self importance to sit back for too long. He’ll make cameo gestures of support on their behalf, probably, but he won’t want to be a media martyr when the crunch comes.

There has been an avalanche of complaints about his bias. Sure the BBC lawyers are looking at current developments and told him to shut ii.

On another note I have lost all patience with Hearts. If we never see them again it will be too soon.

If you get any tomato-soup stained beige-cardigan clad Jambo frothing at you that "everybody voted to relegate 'the Hertz', just politely remind them that a democratic vote was held to call the league. at which point "the Hertz" were bottom of said league, and as a by-product of that vote were relegated.

There was no vote "so do you want to relegate Hearts?".

If their eyes haven't glazed over by that point, tell them that subsequent discussions/votes to reconstruct the top league to 14 teams were roundly rejected by the vast majority of clubs; once again the by-product of that vote meant that "the Hertz" remained (as they had become by that point), a Championship club.

In summary, present them with a few FACTS, and then retreat to a socially acceptable safe distance (about a mile away to be on the safe side), and be sure to be wearing PPE, as you watch them spontaneously combust before your very eyes.

I've been banging that drum for a while now - the proposals were voted down because they were rubbish, Hearts were neither here nor there in the considerations save for a few sympathetic clubs.

The media have had a totally myopic view on the reconstruction debate, all they talked about was Hearts and Partick and never explored the proposed set up in any meaningful way.

It was booted out because it was rubbish. Hearts, believing the world revolves around them, were just too blinkered to see that.

This is interesting: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53220498

"The SPFL has described the strain on fixtures as "enormous", with just one spare week to play any postponed games before the split. In other words, we need to hope for a warm and dry Scottish winter...

How are they fitting them all in?
With some difficulty, is the short answer. Some clubs face playing up to four games in the space of eight days, though if everything goes smoothly then this will be avoided."

I'm pretty sure that Budge's reconstruction document claimed they had run the 14-team structure past Iain Blair and that he'd said it was do-able. Admittedly, the split in that format would be at an earlier stage of the season but I always thought that claim in the document was questionable and probably didn't take into account the European play-off which felt like a hastily-included afterthought. The fact remains that if 38 games is going to put a strain on the system then the 14-team league, which would require the bottom 8 to play 40 games, would clearly be worse. Add in the requirement for a play-off and (depending on what format was used for that - not that Budge even bothered to consider this) the 7th-placed team would be playing between 41 and 46 games.
