So the Josh saga appears to be finally over. I do think he has been messed about a bit and does sound as if Marseilles was where he wanted to go. No doubt the Evening News will continue to maintain that we are on 27.5% of the whole fee. Wish they were correct but sadly looks as if it’s just the profit.

Indeed. It sounds like we have a guy that can partner Vente and give us options at both left and right midfield.

For me I think we need 4 players - forward (done), CM, CB and LB.

There is still 12 days left in the window and after all the grumbling, it was feels like we've waited to sign a really good player (on paper at least). This isn't some 19 year old that's never tasted first team football.

If we can get even 1 or 2 more guys in before January ends that have the experience and pedigree he does, I'll be delighted.

We've also brought Megwa back and will have hopefully have some of the injured players back soon.

Sometimes it pays to be patient. Let's see where we are by end of month.

I know some people not happy as he hasn't played for 6 months but I think this would be a good signing for us and would slot into our midfield well.

I would be amazed if he's not been training with some teams the last while to keep his sharpness up so hopefully he's not far off making an impact.

He is a very good player. Had an amazing season couple seasons ago in the championship for QPR and if we can get that version with him we will have a very talented player on our hands. MM is a great signing on paper. Hopefully he adapts to Scotland quickly because he's got the pedigree to really storm this league.

This is the kind of signing that should be getting us excited. I've been critical of the transfer activity over the last few years but credit for rolling the dice here.

Obviously things can change quickly in football and if he was still the player he was you'd question why QPR didn't keep hold of him. But if he resembles the player from a few seasons ago then we'd be onto a bit of a gem I think as he's quite an action packed midfielder. At the moment I'd probably have him over Levitt (assuming he's fit and ready).

I also quite like signings like these as I wonder if he'll have ultimate ambitions of being back in the Championship and would burst his gut for 18 months or so to get there before he's 29/30. No issue with that whatsoever if he puts in a shift for us.

A good player but very injury prone and suffered 2 horrendous injuries as a youngster. Another to add to the squad. I genuinely feel we have to walk away from this type of signing. We have a limited wage bill and I would rather we signed players who can actually play most games. We love taking a risk and it backfires more often than not.

He's had two serious knee injuries in last four years, hence poor game time, been training with Tottenham since being released. Hopefully he's now strong enough and doesn't suffer a recurrence of old injuries....

I hope if we offer him a deal that it’s short term. He hasn’t played since serious injury much like Magennis and we can’t afford to do that again.
With a bit of luck, he performs so well we regret giving him a short deal but better that than being stuck with another player who is never available.

Gutted this one hasn't worked out as at the time I was fully on board with the approach of pinching the best youngster from that division and giving them a platform at Hibs to go do a Kevin Nisbet/John McGinn etc. While Mackay perhaps hasn't worked out like we hoped you can tell he has the makings of a career at the very least in the top half of the Championship.

However Tait appears to be on a slope to having next to no career beyond kicking about some greater glasgow club in League 2 at this rate, which is a shame because he was probably the most talented one. But I guess you can't change some players attitudes.

He was out for a while last year after suffering concussion then got injured in his first day back at training.

Bearing in mind Montgomery has mentioned before about his relationship with Postecoglou and I'd imagine they'd have had even a small chat about Amos since he trained at Spurs u23s
