Not angry, you seem to be the constantly angry one. Just thought this traitor/quisling chat was poor and quite an extremist view that's all, more often seen in Alba. Just don't think it helps these days, but crack on if that's how you feel. Not seen that from a SNP supporter for a long time.
how so very gallant of you 'allowing' me to crack on james, that's just what i'm going to do james, bless you :not worth use the ignore function

This is exactly the country that the Tories want. P&O is chickens coming home to roost.
Johnson also refused to sign a document last year that would offer workers some protection from events like this, unfortunately the RMT advised their members to vote for Brexit, so many voters fooled by a message on that bus. Genius

wow, both branch parties in Scotland are going all out to attract the dregs
Scottish Tories to investigate Dennistoun council candidate who followed KKK videos | The National (https://www.thenational.scot/news/20004185.scottish-tories-investigate-dennistoun-council-candidate-followed-kkk-videos/)
TORIES will investigate a council candidate who was revealed to have an interest in far-right commentators including former KKK chief David Duke (https://www.thenational.scot/news/19995713.tories-stand-dennistoun-candidate-interest-kkk-commentator-david-duke/), it has emerged.
The former Ukip candidate also follows far-right vlogger Carl Benjamin, whose videos were demonetised after he made jokes about raping Labour (https://www.thenational.scot/politics/labour/) MP Jess Phillips, and an account called DavidDukeRadioClips, which exclusively features clips of the former KKK grand wizard discussing topics such as race and Zionism.
But when The National approached the Scottish Tories about the content, the party told the newspaper that Robertson had subscribed to the accounts by mistake and later unfollowed them.
lol yeah Right

While they walked around Salisbury, he added, the two men “maybe approached Skripal’s house, but we didn’t know where it was located”.
He may as well have said it was a ‘world beating’ spire.

No one ever seems to ask - what do these Russians who give money to the Tories get in exchange for their money? It is an intriguing question. What do they get? What do we get? There is a report somewhere that shows billionaires coming to live here add nothing to economy, quite the opposite they harm the economy. Why do want to be here? Why do they all support the most corrosive divisive political party? Why, up until the invasion of Ukraine, all support Putin's line in everything he did? What benefit to the poorest in the UK gain from them being here? Maybe some of the "patriotic Scots who also like to be British because of their emotions so much so that they also vote Tory" could explain the phenomenon. I personally think it stinks of disruption, interference in our institutions, money laundering and criminality.

you won't get an answer, tories on here have been asked hundreds of times over the years to tell us why we are better of in an unequal union, they won't answer because they can'tThat's not what I'm asking, the "union" question.
I'm talking about the stability and security of the United Kingdom which, we are told, we should all feel patriotic about. I'm not patriotic about the UK or Scotland. I love where I come from. I also love lots of foreign places I've visited and worked in and love some parts of England way more than some parts of Scotland. I'm not really interested in finding ways to hate anywhere else, so I don't.
But what gives with the last 10-15 years? Allied and near neighbour countries have been portrayed as taking something from us in some devious, undemocratic manner whereas Russia is country ruled by a dictator and it has weapons of mass destruction aimed at us. It uses London's financial "advantages" to the point where it has become a global joke. It sent killers to spread poison in a English town and the dictator sort of shrugged it off and had a laugh. Thousands of outlandishly rich people from that country, a enemy in living memory, can buy a passport for £2MIL and give Her Majesty's Sovereign govts ruling party a third of its financial needs since 2010.
This isn't Russophobia BTW, I've a strand of Russian family history which I've always been intrigued by. I've partied with Russian peeps and have found some of them lovely and some of them that's just like everybody else in the world.
None of these business people buying those passports operate independent of Putin, they wouldn't be allowed to take that money out of Russia without his say so and they can't own the source of their wealth without his blessing.
Why do the Oligarchs love the Tory Party so much?
What good does having them in uk benefit our sovereignty?

Because, Sherlock, in a 2 horse race in engerlund there is 1 side or the other. That unfortunately decides that Scotland is ruled by Tories. You constantly take sides AGAINST anyone who doesn’t like what tories are & what they do. Hence, Sherlock, you are a tory by backing the other side in our pretty useless system, as you oppose anything anti-tory. While “claiming” to have voted remain. Mr Holmes.
Getting away from Baker Street for moment there has been some leaked emails showing how Cabinet Ministers blocked purchases of face masks in favour of a company who charged double the price. Middle men in the deal were payed millions for reasons not quite known, unless you factor in sheer criminality.

It was admitted in court today that all of Boris Johnson's pandemic phone messages are unavailable.
The Cabinet Office: ‘In April 2021, in light of a well-publicised security breach, the Prime Minister implemented security advice relating to a mobile device. The effect was that historic messages were no longer available to search and the phone is not active.’
Conveniently the final No.10 party being investigated by police was in April 2021, the cut off date before which messages are “unavailable”.

To re-iterate, Greenginge created an alternative thread along similar lines, I don’t like any party, but while my only politics ATM is totally against the lying farce that is this engerlund elected brexit nonsense govt, & we all know gove/mogg/Cummins/johnson et al, while lying deceitful snake tongued wife cheating (+hancock) while we have to call all aforementioned pieces of slime “our govt” greenginge created a take the heat off, deflection, look elsewhere thread, therefore trying to pin down greenginge for me is proving very problematic! Don’t think he is 007, likewise I don’t think he’s ultimate fool David Cameron. Seems bit masculine for Ruth Davidson? & not clueless enough for the wannabee ref! I mean why should he, he's a ****** billionaire ffs. It's a bit like Starmer and Union Jacks - people can spot a phony a mile away. Better to be yourself, in Sunak's case say "I'm really lucky to be well off enough to be insulated from this, but I understand how hard it is for most".
Sky and LBC posed him the difficult questions, from what I’ve seen the bbc coverage has been compliant and echoed the Sunak narrative that Ukraine is the reason there’s a cost of living crisis.Nobody mentioning the B word either. Brexit is costing the economy twice the damage caused by the pandemic, that cost will go on year on year.

This bit has Boris for the chop. He said there were no parties, or laws broken, at the dispatch box. He lied to parliament. Bring on the next one.
But the Met’s intervention, confirming that laws were broken at the heart of government, could reignite the debate about his leadership.

A CONSERVATIVE councillor is facing a Standards Commission Inquiry into his behaviour a year after being outed as a notorious Twitter troll.
Angus politician Derek Wann was revealed in 2021 to be behind the Lady Whistledown (AngusFreeofSNP) Twitter account.
The account targeted opposition politicians with abuse and was described as “misogynistic and transphobic” by critics.
The Twitter account, which is named after a character from the TV series Bridgerton, also mocked Dundee's drug death record.

Who is RS Archer?
The short answer is, nobody. He doesn’t exist.
The Twitter profile @archer_rs has just shy of 90,000 followers and claims in its bio to belong to the “author of the 'David Saunders' book series”.
“My wife and I are to be found either in the Dordogne or on our travels,” it adds.
Previous versions of the biography ended “or in our GXV Patagonia”. A photograph of this expedition vehicle also previously featured, but has since been replaced with generic images of French countryside.
The “David Saunders” book series does not exist.
What’s the troll’s aim?
It seems the troll’s sole aim is to sow disinformation and harvest likes and retweets.
Regardless of the account’s dubious intentions, it provides a good example of how such falsehoods can rapidly spread on social media. Too often people are taken at their word, especially if that word confirms our own inherent biases or plays to news we’d like to hear
.
Archer's first major hit came on June 29, 2020, after a series of tweets claiming to tell the story of some angry and dense Brexiteers with a home in France went viral. The tweet thread went on for days, only finally concluding on July 2.

No idea, it clearly needs reformed but I think it will always remain "free" at the point of use. I don't see it being like Ireland where you will pay to see a GP or for an Ambulance etc.
A few years ago the NHS was being sold to Donald Trump, I am sure if I looked back on this site from 10 years ago the NHS was about to be privatised then as well.
Any Government that does it would be committing political suicide in my opinion, they would be voted out and the party that promised to restore it would win any election.
But I of course have no idea what's going on behind closed doors.

although utilities are rising now it will probably be september/october when electricity/heating will force a lot of working people into poverty, rising food prices adding to that

I read over the weekend that these lines are actually dandruff which he combs out his hair and collects (it's a stress thing). I have a few issue with this, dandruff is not cocaine white, it is made up of dead skin, if you did collect your dandruff it would not appear like cocaine, if you did collect your dandruff why organise it in lines, like it is cocaine and like you say why on an oven tray. In fact the oven tray is his best excuse because no normal human would chop a line out on the bottom of an oven tray. The photo is of course cocaine, but it is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever seen.

Channel 4 - despite it being profitable - to be sold off.
Just coincidence that the quality of journalism from them is quite high. And that culture secretary Nadine Dorries has also seemingly had run ins with LBC and James O’Brien for his excellent output.
I posted on a You Tube video about Channel 4 privatisation that I believe this government is now indulging in a slash and burn policy. Knowing they are overseeing numerous disasters, and fearing they are going to lose heavily at the next election, they are determined to push through as many hard right policies as they can get away with before then. Another act of national vandalism, privatising Channel 4 (and privatising BBC is the real wet dream of the right) will help shore up the core Tory vote. They won't be happy until they have dismantled and flogged off everything we have to their pals.

It is vandalism. That is the point in a cultural war, knock everything down, second guess anything decent, allow people to believe that it's alright not to care about culture and your halfway there getting them not care about anything.
Look at how powerful a propaganda tool Russian TV is at the moment. That part of their population who are echoing it will swallow any old tripe, even if its bad for them. They are invested in Putin so much they can't or won't abandon their faith in him. Same with Fox, which is registered as an "entertainment" channel rather than news, and Trump.
There isn't really a direct comparison in the UK. Although GB News is the best attempt, financed be Legatum, Christopher Chandler's "think tank".
Billionaire Chandler is currently suspected of being a Russian asset.

The BBC do a decent job of not pressing the Tories too much, see how dogged they have been over the SNP ferry fiasco - whereas they might report the various covid frauds and rank ineptitude but they never persue the culprits. Which is what to takes to bring people to account.
GB News was supposed to be the Pro-Putin organ but the brand didn't gain traction and the talent just isn't there to put it across. Tucker Carlson on Fox is fully on board with Putin's actions.
There was also rumours that the triggering of Article16 was mooted at the start of Putins invasion, nice for EU relations, what's left of them. If our TV was full of bombs and fires in Ireland there wouldn't be too much room for Ukraine.

It looks like the Tory party and their supporters got their way, and made families poorer.
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/apr/06/two-child-policy-hasnt-made-families-smaller-only-poorer-finds-report
It was one of the Conservatives’ most controversial cuts: waging war on the UK’s “benefit culture” by restricting social security payments that supposedly enabled “welfare scroungers” to have large families they could ill-afford.
The two-child policy – which limits benefits payments to the first two children born to the poorest households – would, proponents argued, cut the welfare bill and bring “feckless” parents to heel by – as one minister put it – teaching them “the reality that children cost money.”
New research, however, indicates the behavioural change aspect of the policy has dismally failed. Since its introduction exactly five years ago today, the fertility rate for third and subsequent children born to poorer families has barely fallen. Instead, the main impact of the policy has been to become the biggest single driver of child poverty.
“In the absence of a behavioural fertility response to the policy, the main function of the two-child limit is to deprive families living on a low income of approximately £3,000 a year. This will inevitably lead to dramatic increases in child poverty among larger families,” said Prof Jonathan Portes, co-author of the study.
Analysis of birth records and household survey data for the study, commissioned by the Nuffield Foundation, found the policy’s introduction in 2017 led to a decline in births of third children of just 5,600 a year – fewer than 1% of the total annual births in England and Wales.
The study speculates as to why the policy has had so little behavioural impact. Unpublished research suggests over half of families were unaware of the policy before they were affected. Many large families – Orthodox Jewish and Muslim families are disproportionately affected – may ignore it for religious reasons.
The research comes as fresh estimates suggest that 1.4 million children in more than 400,000 families in the UK are affected by the two-child policy. April’s below-inflation benefits rise means affected families with three children face a £983 a month shortfall in benefits, with larger families facing an even bigger hole in their income.

Sara Ogilvie of Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG), which produced the estimates, said: “The two-child limit is a brutal policy that punishes children simply for having brothers and sisters. It forces families to survive on less than they need, and with soaring living costs the hardship and hunger these families face will only intensify.”
Over 50% of children in families with more than two children will be in poverty by 2027, according to CPAG. Removing the policy would immediately lift 250,000 children out of poverty. Despite ministers’ “feckless claimants” rhetoric, official figures show over half of families affected are working.
The two-child policy was the brainchild of the former chancellor George Osborne, who announced it in 2015 against a backdrop of rightwing media hysteria around large families – “benefits broods” claimed to be having children primarily to exploit what was considered to be an over-generous welfare system.
It immediately ran into problems after critics pointed out that women who gave birth to a third or subsequent child as a result of rape would be penalised under the policy. Exemptions were introduced for this and for instances of multiple births, or where families had adopted children or had kinship care arrangements.
There is evidence the two-child policy has been a key factor in many women’s decisions to have an abortion. Research has suggested it has had a devastating impact on family life, even before the current cost of living crisis, with households forced to cut back on food and heating.
It was recently savaged by Tory former welfare reform minister Lord Freud, who called it “vicious” and an “excrescence” and said it should be scrapped. He claimed the policy was forced on a reluctant Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by the Treasury as the price of introducing universal credit.

As a UK citizen (from Southampton I think) Sunak's not dodging any tax and nor is his wife, who is from Bangalore. I've seen this situation before with a former work colleague (albeit on a far smaller financial scale). She'd have to revoke her Indian nationality to take up a British passport because dual citizenship isn't permitted by India. Instead she pays British tax on all her British earnings but not on income from her stake in her stupendously wealthy dad's company. That is paid according to jurisdiction and hence to India. That will be the case until she's lived in the UK for (I think) 15 years.
It's her wealth that's being held against her here, not any impropriety.

Okay lets go through what is wrong with this statement.
-No one is accusing them of tax dodging, they are accusing a person staying in No11 Downing street of tax avoidance, which is not illegal but pretty immoral, especially when her husband has put the highest tax burden on ordinary working people since the 1050s
-Your Nationality has nothing to do with your tax status in this case, she is a voluntary Non Dom tax status, it costs her £30k a year to have this status and it is specifically so she doesn't pay tax on all her income in the UK
-There is no proof whatsoever that she pays tax in India and that has nothing to do with her non dom tax status, you do not have to pay tax abroad to have non dom status
-You are correct that it is between 15-20 years she will no long be able to claim non dom status, she will pay tax on all her income in 2024
The fact that she is using tax avoidance methods that people in her husbands party called abhorrent when Jimmy Carr was doing similar and while she actually stays in No11 Downing street is the point here. It is not her wealth being held against her it is her unwillingness to pay tax using tax avoidance methods while staying in the chancellor of the exchequers house!! Conflict of interest much?

Her wealth, though, comes from India and as I understand it she can't move that family wealth into a British tax jurisdiction (unless maybe she pays double tax in the UK and India)?
None of this is news (ie in the sense that it's some sort of suppressed scandal that's only now been uncovered). It was well-known in Westminster that his wife is a non-dom, while the couple have hardly made any attempts to conceal their wealth. Sunak, I read today, hosts regular 'Gatsby-esque' parties at his country home. It seems, primarily, to have been pushed up the headlines partly by those within his own party looking to blunt his leadership hopes and, understandably, by those eager to jump on the coat-tails of a Tory-bashing opportunity.
Thank goodness he got caught monstering that bacon sandwich....

This story has nothing to do with her "moving her wealth" anywhere. It's about where she pays tax on her (considerable) overseas earnings. Has nothing to do with double taxation either.

Johnson today denied knowledge that she was claiming non-domicile tax status.

Any chance to bash these self-serving fascists, I'm there.

Must be nice to just have the choice like that. Must have decided that him getting the top job would provide a bigger return in the long run.
