I saw Vela playing against Reading at the start of last season and he was a standout - involved in all Bolton's attacks and made the only goal of the game with a cracking ball over the Reading defence. If we can get that Vela playing we have a real star on our hands.

The only other player I remember seeing was Newell and I was also impressed with him as a counter-attacking midfielder - making himself availabe and moving the ball on quickly. Not a winger though. I might also have seen Jackson, but can't be sure.

That's interesting because I too have witnessed Vela linking up well on occasion - in a Hibs shirt that is - when we've been in possession. Unfortunately where he has been as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike is in breaking up play and tracking back when NOT in possession - ie exactly what we all somehow expected him to be good at and what the team needed following the departures of Bartley and Milligan. Ultimately I suspect that, like Doidge and Newell, Vela is not nearly as useless as we have made him out to be but, similar to Newell, is a completely different player to the one we somehow expected him to be. We are already replete with creative talent in that area and Vela is at the back of the queue at the moment - not necessarily a bad player but a bad signing - time for him to move on if at all possible.

I’m not wanting to be a creepy guy here but looking at the photo he is on a Ryanair plane flying over the Swiss alps. A Ryanair plane took off from Milan at 6am our time and landed at Edinburgh at 8.10 am..

According to Instagram he added the photo to his story approximately 5 hours ago, now assuming he took the photo and added it to his story while in the air it would not actually upload until the plane had landed and he received 4g signal.

Now if the plane landed at about 8am that is... 5 hours ago......

Therefore with my detective hat on I can 100% confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that Omeonga was on a plane from Milan to Edinburgh today.


EDIT: To add further you can see the reflection of the sun in the wingtip of the plane, the sun is rising on the opposite side of the plane to him, ergo the plane is flying north over the Swiss alps and not south.

Omeonga has plenty of dig. Good positional sense, can tackle, excellent at reading the game and making interceptions.

As a bonus he then starts us off playing football at pace too.

Some much needed energy to the midfield. Perhaps we will go old school and have midfielders with mobility all over the park rather than attacking and holding players. Boyle, Hallberg and Steph can cover plenty yards. You don't necessarily need a destroyer like Marv but there does have to be protection for teh back 4.

I’m not wanting to be a creepy guy here but looking at the photo he is on a Ryanair plane flying over the Swiss alps. A Ryanair plane took off from Milan at 6am our time and landed at Edinburgh at 8.10 am..

According to Instagram he added the photo to his story approximately 5 hours ago, now assuming he took the photo and added it to his story while in the air it would not actually upload until the plane had landed and he received 4g signal.

Now if the plane landed at about 8am that is... 5 hours ago......

Therefore with my detective hat on I can 100% confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that Omeonga was on a plane from Milan to Edinburgh today.


EDIT: To add further you can see the reflection of the sun in the wingtip of the plane, the sun is rising on the opposite side of the plane to him, ergo the plane is flying north over the Swiss alps and not south.

I must say, though, i think because omeonga is an energetic player and a likeable character he is remembered as being better than he is.

I'm not disappointed he has signed as he gives us a different option but i'll be very, very disappointed if he is the only midfielder we bring in. We really need a leader and some power in the middle of the park so hopefully more to come.

I'm sure I read that Brentford had him watched at some point, could be them.
I'd like to think we'd hold out for somewhere in the region of a couple of million for Flo. I know he splits opinion but I think we're a better team when he's playing. His decision making sometimes leaves a bit to be desired but when he's on form he can be unplayable.
Bit of a risk if we sell him this month without having a replacement lined up - although admittedly I have absolutely no clue whether we're close to bringing in a striker or not.

I realise that's an average and depending on finishing position that might change but the difference is only about 500k a year per team.
Throw into the mix the lower attendances there and I don't think there's much between the 2 countries.

At first look a 50% better TV deal but there is far more to it than that.

How much cash each team receives depends on how the TV money is split up.
They have 16 teams in their top league compared to our 12 which dilutes the money.

Average attendances in Polands top league are 9,000 compared to 15,000 in Scotland.
Additionally I suspect the gate and season ticket prices are drastically different in the 2 countries.

All 296 top division in Poland matches are televised whereas in Scotland only 48 matches (plus play off matches) are televised live.
That equates to 6 times as many matches being televised in Poland but only receiving 50% more money so their TV deal is much poorer than it at first appears.

Can you add any other detail to further clarify?

That’s no longer the case now. The other clubs changed that when old Rangers died.
Aberdeen refuses to change the voting system but they did manage to change the tv distribution.
