Agree they have been exceptional. Switzerland are a decent international team and we're completely outplayed.

Ukraine miss penalty (SAVED)

This is the bit I'm not sure about with VAR. The referee missed the handball in realtime, the game continues and then he gets word in his earpiece 30 seconds later. Goes and reviews it at the side and awards the penalty.


I think VAR should be used where the referee is unsure, not when he misses something. Had he seen what he thought was handball but wasn't sure then I think he should be able to get confirmation, a bit like rugby.

For me it's not just his ability. It's the way he is able to raise the standard of everyone around him. Barely ever calls off for his country and really seems to inspire lesser players to perform beyond the top of their ability.

Obviously waiting on the England Scotland game but worse case scenario for Scotland and they lose against England tonight then a win against Croatia will mean Scotland will finish third. Whether third will be enough with 3 points is a bit of a toss of a coin. Last time round two 3rd place teams qualified and two went out. You'd need a GD approaching 0.

The Euros is usually a good tournament IMO, the quality of football is usually good and the teams tend to go for it. The World Cup tends to have too many teams sitting in.

Well done Hungary, really brave performance against a good team. France certainly didn't look unbeatable on that performance.They are quite reliant on Mbappe and his pace. He started out on the wing and got flattened a couple of times so moved into a more central role. Great player with great skill as well but I thought Hungary deserve a lot of credit for this, it was a good goal they scored too. France are quite an arrogant bunch so not bothered about them losing points. They'll still go through anyway.

I thought they looked disjointed. There's no doubt that if they fire on all cylinders they can beat anyone but I felt they were well short of that today. They played within themselves against Germany too. Unless they are saving thselves for the knockouts, I think this competition is going to be beyond them.

No, with 4 points they would still almost certainly qualify as one of the best 3rd place finishers. You’d need a combination of 5 or 6 unlikely results in the final week and some big scoreslines as well for that not to happen.

The starting 11 were fantastic,after the Germans made their subs the game was more even. I don't think they have the depth to win the tournament, but they'll be there or there about.

Just meant that in the game this afternoon he walked away with a goal and an assist but thought he was anonymous for the rest of the game bar those two moments. Arguably he was a big factor in why Germany dominated the game so easily, IMO, although Germany did also play very well and Silva and Fernandez were also anonymous.
