If it's Davie Provan on Sky then it certainly bias. In favour of whoever Scotland are playing.

Generally speaking your right though. It's just been so long since we have been at a tournament that we have forgotten what it's like. The commentary will be hugely Scotland centric and Scotland bias tomorrow and rightly so

I'd say yes. Repeated fouling that Calvin Phillips has been doing would most likely get a "He's got to be careful" rather than the "that's great" type comment. Sterling smashing it over the bar on his left would most likely get a "He has to do better there" rather than "His best game all season" platitudes.

It's not just positivity. It goes levels beyond it. They rarely say anything negative in commentary until they inevitably get dumped out in a match.

They are broadcasting to a UK audience though whilst acting like it’s an only an English audience. We get the scraps of a Scottish commentary team, broadcasting only to Scotland and only in games involving Scotland.

We spend a whole year watching Scottish football with Scottish commentary teams, love them or hate them, then as soon as a tournament comes along we get Englands coverage. It just wouldn’t be tolerated the other way round.

I thought England played well and thoroughly deserved a win against a pretty toothless Croatia side. To be fair, they know they will get harder tests than that, and they are a relatively young team with some talented players who do seem to work well together unlike some England teams of the past. I think it'll be a really hard game for us down there, but we do need to take the game to them and try and put them on the back foot, I don't think Croatia really did that at all. Easier said than done I suppose, but I just think that sitting in against them just isn't going to work. Just my opinion though.

I’d imagine it’s a case of where there’s a will there’s a way.

Keeping in mind though that players are insured and that he’ll suddenly become a lot more costly to do that with, I’m not sure there will be a will.

Thought it was unnecessarily dismissive of them with no context given to the players not playing they have won well in the best game of the tournament. No doubt De Jong annoyed Keane and Neville in some Manc Derby years ago.

The lassie in the commentary box (was going to guess Alex Scott but don’t think it is) said it a few times and I couldn’t get my head round it either. There is no need for them in my view. Commentators are obviously required for radio broadcasts but when it comes to TV matches, fans can provide plenty of their own talking points without endless pre and post-match analysis. Games should just be broadcast without commentary or analysis, just the same as if you are actually at the game.

I used to lap up all that 'big match build-up' stuff but I've come to realise that the vast majority of it is just unnecessary filler.
