Temporary occupation cert granted, but still outstanding the small matter of a safety certificate. What a ****ing shambles.
Games on as I said a couple of hours back.
Lump on Thistle the morn.

I'm really surprised that the SPFL have agreed to this.
If I was a Thistle player/fan I would be raging.
They are but need the game played too.

What is Hearts hold over Edinburgh Council , can you imagine any building project for whatever reason having safety officers camping in a van next to project ready to sign a safety certificate anywhere in the country. This smacks of corruption at the highest level and is the best joke in the country right now.:na na:

less than 7 hours before kickoff, no one will know if the game will go ahead. Words fail me...
The game kicks off at 3pm... not 5am.

Yeah, this thread is mental. 212 pages for a Hearts stand, and we have people saying they are the ones making a fuss about it. If TPTB here were coming out with the same type of rhetoric as QA we’d probably be lapping it up too. It will be business as usual after they get ****ed tomorrow anyway.

If they'd been low-key and just went about their business quietly and professionally no-one would've bothered - but that's not their way !. To everybody else it's just a bog-standard new-stand - but they talked as if they were building the latest '8th Wonder Of The World' before one single breeze-block had been laid ! It's been one of their best 'Own goals' in their wretched history and it's only natural Hibees have had so much fun with it !

In fact, hundreds of teams managed to play a match yesterday.

If this was a game against Celtic, us, Aberdeen or another team that would likely give them a skelp, I doubt the match would be on. They have just scraped by on a temp certificate to get the game on, against a team they have a good chance of beating.
That way they can claim some sort of positive PR spin with their new world famous park.

I'll begin by saying I hope this doesn't even come close to happening today (in one part)
But imagine for a minute the safety officers had stood firm and called th game off.
The game would have been forfeited by Hearts, due to the unsafe and unsuitable nature of the stand.
Hearts would have lost 3 points and Partick awarded a 3-0 win.
No-one's safety would have been put in danger.
But imagine if, today, someone does get hurt
And Partick still win 3-0
Perish the thought, but I have to say it doesn't look safe to me from the photos that have been shared.
Hope everyone there remains unhurt today (it's just a game of football after all)
But I hope Partick win 3-0 in a glorious turn of Karma

True. However, today’s excercise will have more credibility than people like the View, Rod “I simply have to support Celtic” Stewart and ****ing Coolio swanning around Parkhead. 😂

The lead singer clearly likes Springsteen too much for his own good, however he's a good bloke. A friend of mine put on open mic nights in Arbroath for a while a few years back and got a phone call from him saying a friend was there and asking if he could perform a secret set at one of the nights. Did a fair few FR songs in a tiny pub in Arbroath for the sake of it.

They are a decent band but massive stretch to call them up and coming. They have been on the go for 14 years and have released 5 albums.
I meant up and coming as making a commercial breakthrough and becoming a bit more mainstream.

They’re actually a decent up and coming band. My daughter has followed them for a few years. I didn’t realise the lead singer was one of them though.
 Been on the go for 14 years. have had a top ten album.
Saw them a few years ago in the O2 in Manchester, just round the corner from the famous Hacienda.

It is a sell out tour, anniversary of their first album release. Ticketmaster for Glasgow date was as bad as getting a cup final ticket for us!
That's fair enough - though personally I've never heard of them - my post was more aimed at the Yams and Wilson's history of proclaiming 'Full-house's when they're patently not !

If it's such a momentous occasion, why are Hearts still advertising tickets available for the match as of this morning. I'd have thought this would have sold out 2 weeks ago when they opened the sale. I'm gutted, if I'd known there were tickets left I'd have grabbed one, you know, so I could tell the grandkids about it. I just heard on SSN, PT now asking the SPFL to review the situation tomorrow! They are not happy! Why remain quiet for so long?
Tynecastle statementSunday 19th November, 2017 at 1:05pm While Partick Thistle Football Club is pleased that today’s Ladbrokes Premiership match against Hearts will go ahead, we remain deeply unhappy that the decision was left so late in the day. It is unacceptable that there was uncertainty about whether a top flight game would go ahead less than 18 hour before kick-off.#
It is not right to treat players, staff and, most importantly, the supporters of both clubs in this way. It is a situation that never should have been allowed to develop – and it must not happen to any club in future.
On Monday, we will be asking the SPFL for an extensive review into the circumstances that allowed this situation to arise. Specifically, we will be asking why it was allowed to continue to such a late stage, damaging Scottish football at a time when we are all working hard to attract new fans.
As a club, we would like to apologise to our own fans for the late notice on the decision and any inconvenience it may have caused.

I note that there is a ‘cash gate’ open today for walk ups to the Gorgie Stand? Why would this be the case if they sold too many tickets to play in front of 3 stands??

Paul Mitchell (BBC hearts fan commentating on Hearts) just said his view was obscured by Hearts announcer Scott Wilson - so, as we stated, the press area is crap :thumbsup::thumbsup:
The press area is bizarre - apart from being too low it’s pretty small. From the various pictures I counted 24 seats, compared to the 100+ at Easter Road makes you wonder how the stand can be UEFA compliant.
Also, what are the seats between the dugout and press box used for? Don’t look like they are being used by the supporters?

The evasive answers and nonsensical 'in the region of....' stuff is far more entertaining. It's quite cute that they are so obsessed with this 'big team' stuff that they won't just state what the capacity is and accept it's a marginally smaller stadium than ER.

They could have achieved that with their old stand. What a waste of money.

Yeah just saw that, so depending on the capacity you believe, somewhere between 2500 to 2900 unsold seats. What a triumphant homecoming with thousands locked out.:greengrin

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle
A burst of applause at kick off then an eerie silence takes hold again. I can't be the only one surprised at how flat the atmosphere is.
:faf:
I really don't care what the capacity is and I don't want them to say.
The evasive answers and nonsensical 'in the region of....' stuff is far more entertaining. It's quite cute that they are so obsessed with this 'big team' stuff that they won't just state what the capacity is and accept it's a marginally smaller stadium than ER.
All the funnier for us to keep bringing it up to annoy them. We know it's smaller than ER as do they but they can't bring themselves to admit it.
Their excitement over the new stand seems to have worn off already with the team reminding them how bad they are.

BBC quoting attendance at the worlds most magnificent building as 16,999.
So less than were at ER yesterday.
Some mistake surely...
Paul Mitchell and his employers differ by approx 3000 then? Marvellous. Such fun.

Nobody on here is the least bit surprised. Business as usual at the Library. The most atmospheric library in the world mind you.

It all depends on how many seats are lost through the segregation and how many unsold tickets in the Thistle section?

Can't believe that 400,000 didn't turn up.
Also can't believe they didn't count the ball boys et al in the 16,900 odd. Oh wait........ Maybe they did!!
Circa £15 million spent and they can't attract a capacity crowd.
Oh ma sides!!!

Saw a pic of the main stand and lots of empty seats.
Anyone surprised ? no chance they are getting close to 3500 more into the stadium though so doubt they will ever be over 20,000.

I would be surprised if the derby next month doesn't sell out.

The wee wifie, Craig Levein, Alan Preston, loudmouth stadium announcer (I can't even remember his name) all extremely silent on new ground capacity after £15 Mill + spent.
I think we should be told.

Tynecastle only truly sells out when the Hibs are there. Doesn't even have to involve Hearts much of the time.
