Are there actually folk out there annoyed if we don’t sign someone on deadline day?
We have added Cadden and Irvine and knocked back £4m+ in bids to keep our best players. Surely that is a good window FFS

I don’t understand why it would wind anybody up.
He wants to quadruple his wages and probably felt telling the club he wanted to do that would help push the deal through.
It hasn’t worked but it’s no drama, he’ll be back at training tomorrow and no doubt still getting on with the rest of his team.
He’ll continue to work hard so he can get a big move in the summer.
I really don’t see it as a big deal.

I can't help but feel Hibs have misjudged this one . If 2.4 mill was on the table it should have been accepted this could end up a dear lesson for Ron.
I understand lots of fans think he was worth more but I can't help think we got carried away.
I doubt he will play against St mirren prob start with the same team .
Funny how porteous and Doig just dissapeared from the chat.
Onwards and upwards just keep winning .
Sent from my SM-G975U1 using TapatalkThere's no guarantee that Nisbet's going to rediscover his early season scoring form, but had he been sold and Hibs season collapsed the fans wouldnt look too far for the reason why.
Keeping the fans onside undr the current circumstances is essential as the club will be needing their money in the coming months.

Yes. They're 14 and only allowed to play FIFA 21 until 11pm on a school night.

We should only add if we can bring in a quality player that’s going to enhance the team.

I’d like us to bring in another centre back and striker but only if they improve the squad. I recognise that that’s difficult to do in a January transfer window so won’t be annoyed if we don’t manage to. The fact we have been looking at someone like Liam Lindsay pleases me.
Delighted Nisbet is staying now. Club have played hard ball.
Nisbet handed in transfer request less than 12 hours before window closed so hardly sounds like he has been unhappy for long and he only joined in the summer on a lengthy contract. Time heals and I sure he will be back to scoring goals soon.
We only have 12 games left in the season so don’t get the drama about needing players in. We have already strengthened our midfield, have Scotty back, Daz back in and Boyle looks more effective up front.
Club have had a very strong window again.

We badly need another striker and that’s including Nisbet. Even more so now as we don’t know what sort of player we’re going to have after him not getting his transfer
Overall it’s been a very good window though and I’m delighted with Hibs, their ambitions and how they’ve conducted themselves.

I think that’s us finished this window. Unless anything becomes available I can’t see us bringing anyone in. Hats off to Ron, managed to keep 2 of our biggest assets. The majority of us would agree we need a centre half and a striker but I’d argue that these are potentially the 2 most difficult areas to get bodies in, especially in the January window. Boyler can play centrally and took his goal well at the weekend. Gogic could potentially slot in at CB as well. Don’t think we could be too upset if we don’t bring more players in this window. Rest assured we’ll be all over these positions in the summer.

Neglected to mention the fact we’ve got him on a long term contract, which is the main factor in the whole situation :faf:
That paper is the ****ing pits.
“Jack Ross now has a job to lift Nisbet - who was left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s 2-0 win at Dundee United - for tomorrow night’s crucial clash with in-form St Mirren.”
I interpret that as “Jack Ross now has a job to kick Nisbet up the behooky and get him doing what he gets paid for and signed up to 6 MONTHS AGO.” It’ll be interesting to see how professional he is. The ball’s in his court.

Like I mentioned about Toney. I follow lower league English football and the top wage at Posh is lower than Hibs. Toney moved to a contract worth 22k at Brentford from probably 2kish for a fee of 5 million up front and 10 in add ons. So it really has nothing to do with wages.
And Toney wanted to move to Barnsley last Jan when they came in for him at around 8k a week. His agent told him to carry on as he was at Posh and he’d get a much more lucrative move at the end of the season. And you know what happened.
What was said?
Same as the DR article. Player not happy. Doesn't mean it's true though, it's a better story than player is happy to stay and develop further and try and get into the Euros with Scotland instead of going into a relegation battle and quite feasibly play a lot less football and blow his chances of getting to the Euros.

Yes I know he scored playing there at the weekend but a bit perspective is needed with who we were playing against. That’s not moaning for the sake of it, I’ve praised the team plenty since the weekend but Boyle has rarely played well up front IMO

We think some up here might have jumped the gun with Nisbet's depature?
PRESTON JUMP THE GUN?
In announcing the loan signing of Liam Lindsay from Stoke, Preston looked to have confirmed Ben Davies’ move to Liverpool.
A club statement said the new arrival at Deepdale would “take the No. 6 shirt left vacant after Ben Davies completed his permanent move to Liverpool”.
This statement, however, has since been updated and the mention of Davies’ move to Anfield has been removed.
So, as things stand, we are yet to get official confirmation from either Liverpool or Preston on Davies’ deal, but that now looks like the worst kept secret in football. Surely only a matter of time…

Unless we send Gullan out on loan I don’t see the desperate need to sign another striker. With Cadden pretty much nailed down the RWB role Boyle can, and will, be deployed up front. Appreciate that he’s not a natural striker but hopefully will have more confidence in front of goal after his composed finish at the weekend. Nisbet, Doidge, Boyle and Gullan is surely enough cover for what remains of this season.

Interesting one in the whole Nisbet debate. Look at the decline in Mallan. I used to think he was scoring from every freekick (and he pretty much did). In fact, every time I saw him with space 30 yards out I thought it was a goal. It all seemed to fade.

Your mate was correct, but not any more:
"The ground was once divided by the Birmingham/Smethwick border, but was moved completely into the latter by a minor rationalisation of local government borders in the 1960s and is now entirely in Sandwell. In 1964 the large Handsworth Side terrace was replaced by the Rainbow Stand at a cost of £40,000, reducing capacity to around 50,000.[14] In October 1968, closed-circuit television was installed at the ground, in an attempt to ward off "increasing hooliganism".[15] Over the following decades capacity was further reduced and perimeter fences were built to help tackle hooliganism. The Halfords Lane stand was rebuilt in two separate phases between 1979 and 1982, at a cost of around £2.5 million.[14][16]"

It is a mutual agreement release as he wants to pay regularly.I was a Sunderland Season ticket holder and did not renew as they signed players like him and replaced Jack (stupidly ) with Phil Parkinson .

I love this sort of stuff. To be fair to my mate I think he did say the historic border.

Think they have their eye on 2nd place.
More likely they’re skint and trying desperately to fill some spaces. Losing Cosgrove and Wright are huge losses, apart from 8 goals against Andorra, San Marino and Togo 21s Hornby has done very little in football, Kamberi has been mince for years, and Hendry can’t get a game for St Johnstone. I doubt Celtic will be worried.

Totally agree with your views of Graham. I'm still a season ticket holder and like everyone else we're pleased he's gone but it's one Hibs shouldn't entertain, he's said he want more football in his parting comments so he's off somewhere.

Hibs either play 2 up front, or more recently we have used the 3-4-3 with Boyle and Murphy supporting the forward. Murphy also played up front at Parkhead.
I don’t think we are going to get another player in who is a better option than Doidge, Nisbet, Boyle or Murphy for those 2 or 3 positions.
Another physical striker would’ve been good but we’re hardly short of options.

If Nisbet isn’t happy tonight, Ross will speak to him tomorrow and be fine by Wednesday.
He’ll then suck it up and do his best to score goals so he can get a big move in the summer. He’s not exactly going to down tools and sacrifice any future deals just to spite Hibs.

I can't see us going into the second half of the season with two out-and-out strikers.

If the DR reported the sky was blue and grass was green I’d still look.
They love a dig at Hibs!
I’d love to own Hibs. I’d ban everyone one of them! Especially the DR

Didn’t we welcome them in to show them how we go about our transfer business or something similar? **** the lot of them after their 2016 agenda.

Yip and Traynor into the mix along with Jackson. They would never ever set foot in ER.

Do you think the Turkish clubs make all their signings hold up a portrait of their president? 😂

Yep, looking at it this way has changed my mind about needing more players.
Happy to take more of course but it is not desperate by any means.

There’s still the cup to be played. We didn’t have a winter break this year so maybe we’re further ahead than normal.

If they are, and you specifically Keith Jackson are reading this, I want you to know that it’s not over. I’m not done with you yet. I’m biding my time.
One day, maybe not tomorrow, but one day you will apologise for your crimes against journalism, namely your article in 2016. Fud.

McManus is an odd one on Twitter.
There are undoubtedly times when he knows things but he usually just comes out and say it. When he starts dropping daft hints or making vague comments you can be sure he's either taking a punt or just at it for a laugh.

It’s actually strange he’d pass any comment now considering he’s employed by the club

Aberdeen look to have strengthened quite a bit especially if they get Kamberi. Cosgrove has left but he’s been very poor for them this season.

Hendry loan
Kamberi loan
Hornby loan
Kamberi and Hornby with Hedges in behind will be a handful
