If he has put in a transfer request or aware of it , would you prefer to take a decent offer or play a disgruntled player for the rest of the season.

Did McInnes not say a few weeks ago, don’t ask me about signing players this window, we won’t be signing anyone
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.scotsman.com/sport/football/international/derek-mcinnes-rules-out-aberdeen-moves-january-transfer-window-3090027%3famp
Then they were given 2 million for someone who was barely getting a game. Bit of a change in circumstances. Even at that they’re only getting loans

Just because he’s handed a transfer request in doesn’t mean we lower the asking price. If it doesn’t go thru tonight then he will need to keep scoring goals and playing well to get the move in the summer

That's my point. Why is a League 1 player(when he moved) at the same age at Nisbet worth over 3 times as much? Are Peterborough bigger than Hibs. This isn't a dig at Toney as I'm a Bees fan and rate him. This is all about perception and in Scotland we always go for the we're crap and too small response.
What’s Ivan Toney got to do with Kevin Nisbet?

Not doubting what you’re saying but to me that’s a massive contradiction.
Either Nisbet is happy to stay and not going to force through a move or he isn’t. He can’t says he’s happy and won’t push through a move yet at the same time allow his agent to act like that and put a transfer request in so he gets a move elsewhere - he must know that being in the press will enrage a lot of Hibs fans.
He can’t have both.
Not really, he wants a move and allowed his agent to drum up interest but if an acceptable bid doesn't materialise he is happy to get on with playing for us.
I saw your post earlier r.e. moult, he was a brilliant player at motherwell, if he got to that level again he would be a great signing. Has been injured for 18 months though so no telling how he will come back. Contract up in the summer i think, maybe hibs will be looking then.

I think Hibs will do exactly what Dunfermline did and tell Nisbet to wait until the summer. The player can hand in a note from his mum for all it matters never mind a transfer request, the club has all the power here. He stays unless we receive an offer too good to refuse.

Twitter hence why I haven't linked. Think almost all of it is unreliable. I can see Hibs looking for £3m+ though. Can't see us accepting anything less than £3m with add-ons now. BCFC fans seem to want him, for the sake of an extra 500k down there I suspect they will up the offer (if they haven't already) or another club will come in.

If Nisbet isn’t happy tonight, Ross will speak to him tomorrow and be fine by Wednesday.

Kevin Nisbet going nowhere. Birmingham City have taken offer off the table. A pretty messy episode and relationships have been damaged. Will be interesting to see how it impacts on things going forward
Oh no, how ever will we go about repairing our relationship with Birmingham’s 3rd biggest club. Damn.

So much nonsense on here on total speculation. I doubt Nisbet will be away as we haven’t go a replacement lined up. If we can get a decent loan player then it might be on. All other stuff is just horlicks. Why guys get wound up by speculation beats me. Nisbet will be away in the summer by which time we will have got a decent replacement lined up.

Let him take his frustrations out on St Mirren and earn himself a summer move.
Good one. I would agree with that. He has the ability to do a lot of useful work for Hibs and I don't think he would miss the chance to demonstrate his skills. :agree:

Aberdeen are now also signing Callum Hendry!
Aberdeen are set to add a THIRD striker to their books by signing St Johnstone's Callum Hendry on loan.
SunSport understands the 23-year-old is poised to join the Dons until the summer.
Hendry, who has another eighteen months left on his contract at McDiarmid Park, was also targeted by Hibs.
But the striker will now head for Pittodrie instead and could go straight into their squad to face Livingston tomorrow.
Dons boss Derek McInnes has agreed a loan with Reims for Fraser Hornby, while ex-Hibs and Rangers striker Flo Kamberi is also on the verge of joining.

I think it is good for both parties. Heads down and push on as far up the table as we can. Nisbet makes a reasonable scoring contribution between now and the end of the season and he'll have his pick of a few clubs at the end of the season. If anything it is bad news for Birmingham as they likely wont be the biggest club in for him in the summer.

I’m not impressed by Nisbet/his agent’s conduct today, and I would have him play his way back into the team from the bench, cause I feel our club hasn’t been treated with the respect it deserves, therefore he should have to prove himself again that he deserves to be one of the first names on the team sheet.
A professional however would just pick the best team, which Nisbet would definitely be in 😂.

This is not great PR for KN, his representatives really should have kept quiet in the press as it now puts him in a very awkward position so early into his contract.
I dont think it makes any difference at all, if he left today he'd not get any stick from the supporters as he'd be in Birmingham.

I was a bit concerned about that. Especially after selling them SJM. oops. But I wonder if them seeing SJM at Villa might have contributed to their interest in another Hibs player, thinking they might get a gem on the cheap.
Anyhow, if all this talk of £3million was accurate I would imagine it was the structure that they wanted that would have been the deal killer, not Hibs reluctance to consider £3million and the players wishes.

Kevin needs to put his head down, score a few more goals to make the Scotland squad for the euros then he'll get his move in the summer. Money wise it would have been a great move but Birmingham are down the bottom of the championship and could still be relegated. Hopefully he will get a better and bigger club down there and that will only happen if he scores goals for hibs🤞 a bit disappointed we haven't brought in another striker as cover though.

Transfers are a murky game, whose to say that Hibs weren't onside with and behind any such thing even if it did happen anyway in an attempt to start a bidding war.

Objectively, he was right to want to take it. Does not mean he wont work hard and continue to score goals for Hibs. No damage done with me as long as he shows the same 100% he has since joining.

True but if his form drops due to bad blood, social media etc., that £3m may never reappear and chances of him blossoming and getting to the Euros may be in danger. Hopefully Hibs will issue an announcement that there was no such transfer request and it was all paper talk to put a lid on it.

That was before Cosgrove was sold for 2m+
Would that matter that much? 2 are on loan are they not? Suspect most of that £2m will be used to help club finances.
Would Nisbet saying "can I (my agent) speak to them to see what they're offering" be the same as putting in a transfer request?
If so is it really that bad?
I think it is normal that the agent has been sounded out with a rough idea on what the players wages would be. The agent would then indicate whether or not the player is at all interested before an bid is put in, even though they are officially supposed to ask the club for permission 1st to speak to the player. Tapping up happens a lot. Not saying it has happened here with Nisbet though but I'd be surprised if there had been no contact whatsoever before they put in a bid. Doesn't mean he's desperate to leave though.

Very very quiet on players coming in.
The way Ross was speaking I expected another 1 or 2 in.
Still think Mallan, Wright and possibly Gray could all be away.. Thought Mallan was away on loan to Turkey?

Birmingham were trying to do their bidding via Remote Control but it appears that Hibs were in Complete Control 🙂
Maybe Fulham will bid for him, a case of London Calling

You can bet his agents have been feeding the media throughout trying to make Hibs look like the bad ones.
Bad PR from his media team but well done Hibs For not rolling over!

Thing is Hibs have got a record for ruining young players' big moves, remember how we crushed that poor lad McGinn by knocking back his move to Celtic after they generously offered £1m+......or when we ended the dreams of Thompson & Brown by not taking the massive £3m Spurs offered for the pair.
Birmingham have been very unprofessional and sadly disrespectful in this affair. If this is how they like to behave then the only players they will be able to attract will be the kind that will take them down to league one.
As for Nisbet, he's the lad that knocked back more money at Hearts in the summer......to sign for us.
Moira Gordon seems remarkably ill informed for a local journalist. Almost as if she is regurgitating one side of the story..I wonder who could be feeding her that.
Sent from my SM-G780F using Tapatalk
I mentioned this in a previous post but she always seems to turn this into a negative Hibs twist. She could have reported that Hibs have rejected the offer but instead Birmingham have withdrawn their offer. Typical Jamboid reporting

If he stays can we ban all posters unable to spell a six letter name?
I think you are overthinking things a tad.
Just as likely the guy will get his head down, get on with working on improving his form (hopefully) and everyone sees what the summer brings. He'll be on the radar regardless but the outside chance of a Scotland place plus this episode might suit everyone (except Brum).

Pages and pages of speculation about Nisbet possibly putting in a transfer request...
Does anyone have proof that he did or that his agent has been stirring things up ?
Could it have all been a fabrication by lazy journos ?
Not that i expect to but If I'm ever charged with an offence that goes to a jury trial ......I hope that most on here aren't in the jury.
Its like the salem witch hunt .....trial is not really a fair description of what went on there ...or here.

So Birmingham did it the correct way and didn’t even speak to the player. That’s correct because they didn’t meet what we thought our contracted player was worth.
Simples it really is.
Non story over sensationalised and its now Hibs fault we didn’t let him go so he could make over £10k a week and ourselves a fortune.

This time last year we are going through the exact same nonsense trying to get Nisbet from Dunfermline.
Ive got to admit the way Nisbet had acted has really wound me up.
If we managed to keep him I would have been delighted but now he’s put in a transfer request and is “down” along with all the other stuff I’d embarrassing and tbh I’m not sure he’ll perform much better over the second half of the season. Sell him for 3 million now and get a decent replacement in, I appreciate this is easier said than done.
When you break his stats down for the first half of the season it’s not as impressive as you think
The only thing that might work in our favour is he try’s harder to get a move and into the Scotland squad, I think his head will be gone though. .

We don’t have any quotes from Nisbet or from Hibs - do we even have anything from Birmingham themselves to go on? Until the facts come out - if they ever do - there’s no point in holding it against a player who has done well for us this season.

I don’t understand why it would wind anybody up.
He wants to quadruple his wages and probably felt telling the club he wanted to do that would help push the deal through.
It hasn’t worked but it’s no drama, he’ll be back at training tomorrow and no doubt still getting on with the rest of his team.
He’ll continue to work hard so he can get a big move in the summer.

I can't help but feel Hibs have misjudged this one . If 2.4 mill was on the table it should have been accepted this could end up a dear lesson for Ron.
I understand lots of fans think he was worth more but I can't help think we got carried away.
I doubt he will play against St mirren prob start with the same team .
