The American election is still up in the air as to who will win. I think we might have a better indication after tonight’s debate (21:00 EDT, 02:00 BST). An ex prosecutor debating a moron who spouts lies and conspiracy shouldn’t be a close run thing but this is America, so you never know. It’s officiated by ABC which should make for a better debate than the CNN one which was shockingly bad for all parties. Hoping that swing voters will watch and see Harris dismantle the orange flump.

I think Trump has a ceiling of about 47%. He doesn’t have much chance of increasing his vote either. He is a known quantity and he is not even trying to grow his coalition. He needs to make sure he gets his vote out on the day.
Harris still has room to grow in that she is still relatively unknown even though she has been vice President. The debate will be important for her tonight. If she has a strong run in to the campaign it’s possible she goes above 50% of the vote.
And I still think that there is a majority who just don’t want Trump.

American economy has performed very well but they are mad about the inflation. Blaming global factors doesn’t work over there because they think they are the centre of the universe.
Interest rates will come down this month and inflation is dropping so hopefully that will have people looking to Harris.

2% average isn't booming it's pretty average for the last 50 years. The problem was massive inflation in that time above 8% for a lot of it and now sitting at 2.9%. Because of this wages adjusted for inflation has plummeted, so people feel poorer. Wages adjusted for inflation grew all the way through Trumps presidency and have dropped a dollar an hour under Biden. Biden wasn't to blame for that inflation it was world events but Trump should have used that and immigration instead of people eating cats
