If people are serious about making trades we should try and use the Trading Block. That way people know who is up for grabs and what others want in exchange. That saves going through the messageboard and making trades that don't interest the other party.

Good news for me, although judging by the way my team is performing the winner will be whichever one of us is the least worst....
Had 2 players last night who combined scored less than Luck. finding the most frustrating thing is who to pick, had the choice of Reggie Wayne or Brian Quick and have made the wrong choice.

That is indeed the FF dilemma. It's tough letting go of a player who is either underperforming or injured only to see him bounce back two weeks later and get a ton of points for someone else. The thing is, in our league with 16 players you will be hard-pressed to find a replacement for him...at least a replacement that has a somewhat familiar name.
Well that's the decision made for me, Gerhart out injured. In desperation I thought I'd roll the dice on his unknown backup, Storm Johnson, but someone's already taken him!
No chance this week, at least I'm high on the waiver wire!
Great start by Flacco unfortunately 2 of his 3 TDs have went to Torrey Smith who is on my opponents team haha!

Gutted as I had Antonio Holmes (Oakland) and dropped him as he hadn't been doing much and he went and put up huge numbers at the weekend that might have made it a competition! :rolleyes:

First Jamaal Charles then Ryan Mathews and now Stevan Ridley. I know other people have injuries, etc. but three starting RBs is a tough pill to swallow in a 16-man league. At least Charles is back and Mathews is on his way...week 8 maybe. Nobody on the waiver wire really worth picking up beyond them having a boom week.

I've always liked the idea of a keeper/dynasty league but you would surely do it with 5 or 6 keepers. I wouldn't be keen to use this year's teams as a starting point though - we would need to do a complete redraft next year for fairness really as the values of players differ in that type of league. It does keep interest levels up for teams not doing well and it adds a bit more value to trades as players like Beckham, Manziel have the potential to be stars in the future.
Usually you forfeit the round you drafted your keepers in the following year - using this year's players as examples - if I kept Forte then I wouldn't draft in the first round but if I decided to keep Julius Thomas I would keep my first round pick and miss out in the third round. So it rewards good drafting in the later rounds too.
If there's not enough interest then possibly even 8/10 of us could have a second league with the dynasty or keeper element.
It's certainly something to consider going forward but please no expansion above 16 teams whatever we do!

That would be me, the matchups have been incredibly harsh to me :brickwall seem to catch every team on their best weeks!

Going to be a close one in my match I'm almost 13 ahead with just Andre Johnson to play for the other team. Should have knew when our 2 teams were separated by 0.02 points over 6 weeks.

Thanks, I saw that. It seems that Harvin and Nicks are about as useless as each other but with Harvin starting with the Jets this week, I think I will hold on and see what happens. Perhaps Harvin's poor performances are related to the locker room incidents.

The only other thing I'd be willing to do is trade Shorts and Wright together for Brandon Marshall - I know he's been a bit inconsistent (because Forté is getting all his snaps :greengrin) but I'd happily take the risk. Could even throw in a RB like Carlos Hyde in the mix.

Luckily I had a couple of spare bench spots so I was able to pick up Harry Douglas and Greg Jennings. That doesn't set my hair on fire but I don't think I can get any better without making a trade that weakens me elsewhere.

I have Gordon stashed away in two other leagues but I'm doing OK with one less spot in the roster to use. Of course I will be plenty pissed if he comes back and doesn't do anything - I'm hoping he can jump right back in the saddle in time for the playoffs.
17 points up with Jordan Reed to play. That's the good news. Ragin' has Demarco Murray to go and we all know what he can do.
ive a feeling this is the week Murray comes unstuck, good to still have something to play for though :agree:

I managed to pick up DeAngelo Williams on free agency this morning due to 3 of my 4 RB's being on bye's this week. He's been injured most of the season but is in line to start as Carolina's RB1 this week, so hopefully he'll get me some points. Can't say I'm too optimistic looking at my team this week, but at least I'm up against someone with the same sort of bye week issues.

Antonio Brown is an absolute star, as you can see from his numbers so far. I do have a bit of depth at WR with Watkins and John Brown starting to put up some good numbers, but I'd be looking at getting a similar calibre player for him. I think he's in the same bracket as Forte, so I'd do a straight swap.

When i look at my team and despite being 4-4 i can't honestly remember who my 1st round pick would have been. So many under achievers. Mark Ingram was a great pick up in the later rounds.

Doubt that'll happen. I had him last year and his numbers just went up and up. Never really appreciated how good he was because I had McCoy and Charles putting up ridiculous numbers. Changed days now with this 16 teamer - looks like I'm starting Tre Mason and some scrub off the P******s practice squad :boo hoo:

Chiefs: RB and TE (Flex is W/R/T)
and it's working out pretty well for me so far (at least now that the Pats seem to have put their O-Line issues behind them).

I'm not scrambling to get him but he would have been a great plug-in for me for this week. It seems absurd that a player dropped from one squad can't be picked up by another player before he has even played. That's an ESPN league, not sure if NFL is the same.

Here (from ESPN Analysis of Andre Ellington) is why you should take most advice with a pinch of diarrhea:
From Wednesday: "The sledding may be tough in Week 10 against the Rams, though, who have allowed 3.1 YPC to running backs over the last four outings."
(my interpretation: might not be a great week for Ellington since the Rams D is tough against the run)
From Today: "He's a potential RB1 against a St. Louis defense allowing 4.6 yards per carry as well as a league-worst 10 runs of 20 or more yards.'
(my interpretation: might be a good week for Ellington since the Rams D is not as tough against the run as implied two days ago)
So which is it? Is it going to be a tough week or is he a potential RB1? I use stats to a certain degree but there are so many intangibles that make this little more than guesswork. Any team / individual can make a costly mistake or a subliminal play, something that goes against the grain for that particular team or player...but that never shows up in the stats as a meaningful metric.

I have AP in one league. I think that if the NFLPA can exert enough pressure they have a chance to get AP reinstated. He has done everything asked of him yet the NFL are still dragging their heels. He's worth a roster spot assuming it's not at the expense of someone that you really need right now.

In my division I'm in 4th place (joint 2nd) but underneath my 4 is another 4, does this mean I'm 4th in the overall league? :confused:

I can't check the site right now since I am at work but there should be a link to click on "Playoff Schedule" which will show you who would be in the playoffs if the league ended right now. Still a few weeks to go, a lot could change (hopefully).

I really screwed the pooch on that trade but didn't realise until after you had accepted it which meant it was too late to cancel. I left myself short at RB and, as everyone knows, there is nothing out there on the waiver wire.
