Yeah may have jumped the gun a bit! Still need some picks and failed drives from rivers giving my kicker plenty of chances! Patterson outrushing AP was a bit painful though!

Ray Rice gone, absolute ****bag who should be locked up.

I have four fantasy teams. Two I drafted, two were on auto draft. Guess which two won and which two lost? LOL.
This was a funny week. In general I am happy with the players that I drafted, or were drafted for me, but there were a few pokes in the eye - especially Jamaal Charles.

You wait. You will most likely only get one of the guys because once you make one waiver wire pickup, you go to the end of the list. If nobody else wants your second pick then he's yours.

Can someone elucidate how the draft waiver order works?! I was 16th so my effort to pick up Justin Forsett was unsurprisingly unsuccessful.
I hadn't placed any claims prior to this, so I'm curious as to why I started at the bottom?

Edit: you are top of the overall standings but behind The Revis Islanders in your division... strange.

That was what I had wondered too but surely the waver order was determined before the outcome of week 1's games, as we could submit requests prior to the games being played this weekend?
It doesn't matter and I don't want to be seen to be being pissy - I was simply curious! :greengrin
I think Ayrshire is above me because of the point differential of scored vs conceded.

There were no waivers before the games started last week as free agency was still open, once the games start (Thursday night) you can't change your roster till the waivers are processed on the next Wednesday, once the waiver order is sorted. So because you were top overall after the first games you were last in the waiver order.
I'm not sure on the standings, you have a better points differential than Ayrshire. The only thing I can think of is that wins over divisional rivals are worth more in the divisional standings tie-breakers than points differential (which is worth more in overall)? Ayrshire was the only one in the SOL division to beat a rival so he goes top?

I have a waiver request for him and I am #2 on the list. I can't see who is above me so I don't know if that person even needs a player / RB. I can manage with out him, just hoping that Jamaal is not out for too long but Mathews injury is more likely a multi-week thing. Getting two injuries to starters in the same position is crappy luck in a 16 player league.

It does feel that leagues this big are more about luck than skill in all honesty - acquire a reasonable team and be lucky with injuries and you'll be fine.
You start picking up injuries and it's problematic as so many people in a waiver order means it becomes difficult to pick up replacements.

Yes, that would be bad form... :greengrin
Who are the top receivers sitting on your bench anyway? Terrance Williams is on a par with anyone on your bench I would say.
I don't think it is that bad a deal for Haymaker, two pretty steady fantasy scorers (which he needs right now) for someone who has been poor so far this season but who I can afford to stash and hope he picks up some form. Haymaker can't afford to do that.

It does feel that leagues this big are more about luck than skill in all honesty - acquire a reasonable team and be lucky with injuries and you'll be fine.
You start picking up injuries and it's problematic as so many people in a waiver order means it becomes difficult to pick up replacements.
That'll be why you are at the top of the league this year rather than your usual position near the bottom :greengrin

:agree: He's done very little for me, I need some steady points. His highest was 6 points so far. Shonn Greene has double Lacys points. Now while he isn't as good, he IS scoring and that is something I need.

Has he been awful or should we be looking more toward Brady? I checked ESPN and Amendola has 3 receptions on 8 targets for 16 yards. Compare that to Edelman with 22 receptions from 28 targets for 260 yards. Night and day but he has received almost 4x the number of looks.
That said, I don't think I want any Patriots receivers on my team. I even read recently that Brady is almost of no significance in fantasy land (I'm not dropping him in my other league though since, hopefully, this is just a slow start and maybe calf-related).

Now I'm QBless for the week. The week that my star RB and defense are also missing. And Kyle Rudolph is out of the picture.

Wilson's credentials as a fantasy QB are more than being proven now. Just as well, as him and Lynch are truly carrying my team!

As long as Harvin doesn't score me -15 points tonight, I should be victorious. My season is turning around!
Two chopped off touchdowns. That's almost like negative 15 points!

Historically, Haymakers Patriots are 1-3 against The Revis Islanders, including a 0-1 record last season. :cb

Pah!
Never got my no1 waiver target because the team I'm playing this week picked him up, guaranteed to have a great game.

Who did you have before? Maybe I am being naive but I find it difficult to get excited about D/ST and K because the averages over the season are usually pretty close when compared to other positions. But hey, if you're getting an upgrade for free, you can't turn your back on that!
Cordarelle Paterson is available for trade if anyone is interested :cb

Broncos! I thought they would have been an excellent D/ST this year but they've not managed much! 21 points vs the Packers 46, who seem to generate more INTs/Fumbles than Denver.

You didn't like my offer, NOLA? Booo!
Now in the mood for trades, open to offers for any of my players apart from Brandon Marshall, Brian Quick & Mark Ingram.

My dilemma is at what point I give up on Toby Gerhart. He was supposed to be the Jags main weapon getting loads of carries and I drafted him quite high, third round I think. So far he's got me a pitiful 25 points.
Do trades go through instantly?

No, they need to be approved by the league to safeguard against collusion (cheating).

That is indeed the FF dilemma. It's tough letting go of a player who is either underperforming or injured only to see him bounce back two weeks later and get a ton of points for someone else. The thing is, in our league with 16 players you will be hard-pressed to find a replacement for him...at least a replacement that has a somewhat familiar name.
