I'm loving Celtic's fans reaction to this.
Not so long ago Kennedy was everything wrong with the club. His continued presence was proof that Lawell lacked the same ambition as Rodgers. He was the common denominator when Lennon ****ed 10 in a row. He was around when Delia huffed and puffed to the easiest league titles they will ever win and failed to ever get a treble.
Now Ange wants to take him to Spurs it's ripping the backroom staff away, denying them continuity and proof Ange is a snake.
Self entitled half wits.
It's the first time Ange has ever taken backroom staff with him somewhere else too apparently.

Not doubting you, just haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere
Wasn’t Kennedy not linked as being Naismith’s assistant
Kennedy was rumoured to be wanted as Hearts next manager, we tried for him a few seasons ago also.

Celtic apparently don't want to lose Kennedy though wither they hang on to him or not is another matter . I will be sorry to see Ange go tbh .

Helps having money though... And in this crappy league, where only two teams have any, I would bet a large amount of it on Since452 leading his team to at least runner's up spot, and probably picking up a cup along the way.
I'd probably spend the whole £50 million on Josh Doig just to give Hibs the sell-on though so maybe not 😉

Aye, a lot of them seem to have taken the hump when I tweeted the club wishing Ange all the best at a bigger and better club. I think the "seethe" is high amongst them, glorious fun

I find it hard to believe any Celtic is genuinely bewildered that he would leave them for Spurs. Celtic are a gigantic overfed fish in a tiny pond. Being better than Rangers is the only serious challenge the job presents. For a good, ambitious manager it's not much more than a useful stepping stone to bigger challenges.

I think they will go for the Man City Assistant coach they was linked with last week and if they do cash in on a few players then I'm sure the will replace them easy enough.
No chance Lennon as after last time and the hassle of would bring, interesting to see who will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

The compensation is a lot higher than I’d have thought, a 12 month-rolling contract would pay
Wonder if he’s taking any of his backroom staff with him
Hope so. I do enjoy seeing either cheek of the old firm decimated.

Yes, he was written off as an unknown who had been appointed out of desperation. He did a superb job re-building their squad. Spurs is a tougher challenge, but he's earned the right to have a crack at it.

TBH it doesn’t really matter which OF wins the league. We will have a better chance of winning one of the two competitions we can win (the Cups) with a weaker Celtic.
Matters not a jot who wins the league.

No idea if I’m correct here and CBA looking it up but I don’t think Ange was as good in Europe as some of their previous managers (possibly due to a lack of pragmatism). It might end up helping us out if they get a more pragmatic manager in terms of keeping the coefficient up.

Again, it's about other teams being able to take points off them. Rangers are losing most of their strikeforce and aren't exactly looking like a stronger side as it stands.
I'm not suggesting we (or any other club) will become title contenders, but weakened OF teams enhances our chances of a trophy or Europe.

Both are bad though sevco are far worse than Celtic by some distance. In the case of two evils I'd always hope that the lesser evil wins . Nice taking points of the old firm there's no doubt about that though find taking points of sevco just that little bit sweeter

I go into every season hoping Hibs finish 3rd and win a cup which is my main hope though when it comes down to who wins the league I always hope Celtic win it over that other lot and anything that p**** the vile Hun hordes off is good in my book so for me it does matter who wins the league tbh . I'd disagree with you there mate while both are bad for me the Huns are on another scale compared to Celtic . They couldn't even show abit of respect ( twice ) at the passing of Ron Gordon. If there was a award for most horrible club and fans in football they'd win it easily . There's only two teams that can win the league and I'd much rather see Celtic winning than them . Beating both is sweet though I do enjoy it a little bit more when it's the Huns tbh :greengrin

The guy Maresca who is the bookies favourite has a good agent. He had a disaster in his only managerial job yet he’s being heavily linked with the Celtic and Southampton jobs. Not sure what it is that I’m missing but why would he possibly get another crack at such a big job?

Is Pep the GOAT manager? Think he’s the first manager to do the treble with two different clubs?
It’s difficult to define rules to measure against. What Clough did at Forrest, for example, puts him up there despite far fewer trophies. There’s also the argument Guardiola has only managed 3 of the biggest clubs in the world and had an open cheque book each time. Although I’m not sure that should be held against him as I think Man U have spent more money during Guardiola’s time at City so money doesn’t guarantee anything.
Does Pep and his success (which isn’t slowing down) and the way he has influenced the way teams play football the last 10 or 15 years make him the GOAT?
What are the metrics that differentiate? Number of trophies? Trophies won with small clubs? Impact on how football is played? Etc

Jock Stein’s feat in taking Celtic-a team that couldn’t get into the top four in the Scottish league in 1965 to European Champions in 1967 - was sensational .

I'm baffled as well about it , for me he's definitely the best choice for the job . I thought the football was good when Rodgers at them the last time . Think it's more to do with the way he left tbh . The Celtic fans I've asked over here about " what you think of Rodgers coming back ?" Generally gets met with a response " He can get to ....... Or rat and Judas are quite popular words 😂. Think if he comes in and does well all will be forgiven though first sign of a blip and it probably will turn toxic for him .

A favourite moment of that time was when the SPFL computer tried to fix the post-split fixtures so there couldn't be an Old Firm title decider.
Celtic could win the league in the first post-split game so the computer sent them to visit us at Easter Road.
Hibs 2 Celtic 1 (Slivka, Kamberi scorers)
So Celtic won the league the following week, Celtic 5 Rangers 0

It's almost irrelevant who gets the Celtic job - they'll continue to win practically everything.
What is it, 5 trebles in 7 seasons???
Only decent thing is that they stop Rangers winning anything. If Celtic go to win 10 in a row then so be it. I'd rather that than Rangers winning anytime soon.

Lots of reports Rodgers will be announced as Celtic manager tomorrow. He's a good manager, but he will need to win over a substantial proportion of the fans once again. Many still hold a grudge about the way he left last time. If another English offer comes in, will he be straight out of the door again? It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Celtic fans are funny. The man basically won them a quadruple treble. Their nose was out of joint because he dared to leave them for the EPL for what they thought was a much smaller club. Usual Celtic arrogance. They are keeping up their pretend outrage to save face when on the inside they'll be touching themselves over Rodgers coming back. So they should be. It would be a phenomenal appointment as it was the last time.

Celtic and Rangers fans delusion about the size of their club is one of the funniest things in football. There's fans on here and at other clubs as well that would argue in their favour. Both are giant for Scottish football standards, but down south, the top 6 are all bigger, as are the likes of Newcastle, Everton, Villa etc.
If they went down south, they'd be around that level, maybe just under.
Their entitlement is even funnier, they genuinely think they're a top 5 club in world football and think everyone else should agree. The way they act when folk leave, for bigger better clubs/opportunities is like watching 10 year olds throw a strop.
A big section of celtics support hate Tierney as they think celtic are the bigger club and he made a step down. That's something multiple boys I know have said to me, genuinely burst out laughing the first time I heard it.

Without “arguing in their favour” as you put it, I am quite interested to hear your reasoning to put them below the likes of Newcastle, Everton, Villa etc? English top 6 teams are genuinely regarded as modern day global institutions so fair enough and you’re right that despite what some old firm fans may want you to believe, I don’t think either two are quite that level. With that said I don’t think there’s really any credibility ranking them lesser than the likes of Newcastle- however we’re meant to measure these things.

Newcastle are probably the outlier of those teams due to the lack of success. But Villa, Everton are two of English footballs biggest clubs historically, Everton are a huge club, Villa too. Villa are my English team so I'll mention them as I know a lot more about them, plenty leagues, FA Cupa, European cups, and I know a lot make out that celtic have a huge global fanbase, and they do, but so do most big clubs down south. Villa have a 40k+ stadium with 27,000 on the season ticket waiting list, own part of Vitoria, in the process of starting an MLS franchise and own the academy Mo Salah came from in Egypt who I think have just been promoted to their top league. That's a club at the early stages of being one of those footballing institutions you mentioned. A bit of money spent properly and Everton could have done similar, albeit I get Villa have absurdly rich owners.
Winning a lot of scottish leagues in a two horse race doesn't make you a massive club globally.
They're both big clubs, yes, but as big as they think? Not even remotely close. I think, in the same way it's harder for English to realise how big the ugly sisters are, a lot of fans up here don't actually realise the size of some clubs down south that aren't at the top of the table currently.
I certainly didn't realise how big Villa, Everton etc actually were until I started following Villa more closely when my uncle died. I knew they were historically big, but I was blown away at the sheer size of some of England's bigger clubs when I looked more into it. Celtic and Rangers, imo, would fall just outside that category of the biggest clubs outside the big 6 in England, ie, the likes of Villa, Everton and at a push, Newcastle. Newcastles lack of success is the only thing I'd say makes that one more debatable.
It's not just English football, there's a lot of 'fallen giants' that are just as big, if not bigger than the old firm, but their fans would have you believe they're comparable to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Totally agree that Ireland no longer have the players now though even against Greece it was plain to see how badly organised we were against them and even with poor player's some of the results should be better like losing to Luxembourg at home , drawing with Azerbaijan etc ..
Stephen Kenny has had 33 games as manager with only 9 wins and I can accept the squad is poor now though there has to be some signs of improvement and there's not been imo . Dunfermline athletic had the right idea in getting rid of this clown quickly , why the FAI are letting him carry on is beyond belief though he must be getting close to the chop now thankfully.

The one trick pony refers to his coaching style and the fact he plays the same way and does not have a plan B when things go wrong. Did not have the same level of competition when he managed Celtic before as he will face now. Let's see what happens.

To be fair to Rodgers, he won the treble and never lost a single domestic game all season. I'm not sure if that's ever been achieved, anywhere in world football let alone in Scotland.

The Rangers won the league without losing a game when the competition was of a better quality. Celtic have a financial
advantage over every other club so let's see what happens.

Won trophies when it was easiest time to win.Only quoting a friend who is a Celtic fan. Had the most embarrassing defeats in Europe.
I really don’t understand that at all. Rangers were in the league the whole time he was there. Okay they were just promoted but Celtic blew them away and gave them some humiliating defeats. Won 2 trebles (one unbeaten) and set them on their way to a 3rd treble.
Just shows you people will try to find a negative in anything if they don’t think that’s an impressive achievement. Think he’ll do well again given Celtic seemed to have sorted themselves out which wasn’t the case when he joined in 2016 after Deila.

If I was a Celtic fan I’d have preferred to keep AP personally, but Rodgers seems like a pretty decent option to replace him with.
Interesting from our point of view too to see some of the cretins and how they change their tune on the Judas rat who had the audacity to move-on after winning them multiple trophies.

That is actually an outstanding upgrade on Gary O'Neil I have to say.
Iraola has taken Rayo Vallecano from lower league obscurity to competing really well in La Liga, with almost the same playing pool that he had in the lower leagues.
I was lucky to see them last season (you might not think so on the surface but they were absolutely magic)
I'd got tickets to see Lewandowski's debut for Barca, at the Camp Nou, vs Iraola's Rayo team.
He had them playing like Inter Milan did in the Champions League final - solid in defence, and with a couple of trusted lieutenants on the flanks, who were bursting forward all the time.
They hustled Busquets into a rash red card, and while they ended up 0-0, Rayo had 2 goals disallowed for exceptionally marginal offside decisions.
The manager was a big presence (he was winding up the Camp Nou something rotten all the way through) and you could see he had Xavi out-thought all the way through, regardless of Barca having Gavi, Pedri, Lewandowski, Raphinha, Dembele, De Jong, Kessie all on the attack.
He's a real dark horse Iraola, a proud Basque who won't think twice about upsetting the applecart.

Actually finding out that fact, was a wonderful example of Wikipedia - on the same page as it states that 44% of Belgians are Catholic it also states that only 37% of Belgians beleieve there is a god - which means that 7% of Belgians are Catholics who don't beleive in god !! - I'm nor sure how that works ! Don't you just love statistics !!
How about this one,100% of scousers couldn’t give a flying **** about religion in regard to what team they support 😀
