I’m struggling to see where people are coming from saying it was a soft penalty. The county player comes through the back of Boyle and makes no contact with the ball. I watch the premiership games and they’re analysing to see if there’s minute contact. The county player barged into the back of Boyle, stonewall penalty.
Yeah, Boyle puts his leg in to shield the ball and the County player comes through it and Sports sound think it’s conning the ref or soft.
The second incident Boyle’s foot slips on the surface and he goes down. Sportscene call it a dive and we see the pundits pusses instead of a re- run , close up or slow- mo view of the incident.
An amateur production at best .

The sportscene analysis of the penalty was poor - they actually freeze framed the canteen where Boyle is in possession of the ball and the guys knee is in Boyles hamstring and they’re talking over it saying no contact.

At half time they show a RCFC player speaking to the ref showing how Boyle stuck his backside into the defender. That says there was contact so if ref says it was the county player at fault it’s a penalty.

Certainly not sticking up for Sportsound, it’s well past its sell-by date and they do seem to favour some clubs more than others...🤔
But Boyle bought the penalty and dived later on when on a booking.
First one he got in front of the player who went into the back of him. Not beyond reason as to why it was given.
Other one. It’s the fact that in their mind if it’s not a penalty it MUST be a dive. Very fast player, very wet conditions and not one iota of thought it could be a slip. The brief look at the second incident I got I thought there was a hint of his left foot slipping but it’s not even considered on Sportscene.

TBH it shouldn’t have been a penalty in any fair world cos Boyle wins it by bringing about the contact and the defender can do hee haw about it. But these days a lot of “unfair” penalties are given and as others have said anywhere else on the pitch and it’s an unargued foul so it is a penalty. Not seen enough of the “dive” to pass judgement.

Boo hoo Yogi, county and hunscene.
If Boyle had grabbed the ball, stuck it up his jumper, gone to KFC, come back, walked into county net and released the vall, I would take it. We have been shafted every since my first game in 1970, get it up them

I disagree that Boyle brought about the contact. He got between the defender and the ball, which is very different to a forward sticking his leg out to contact the defender. The latter should never be a penalty.

I am really happy this result has upset so many ‘pundits’ at the BBC. Long may it continue. I hope they’re greeting every week til the end of the season. I’m also happy I don’t have to listen or watch the crap turned out by BBC Scotland.

The penalty reminded me of the Aberdeen penalty against us at the start of the season. Sportscene were full of praise for the Aberdeen player getting between the Hibs player (Boyle) and the ball.
Since then Boyle has learnt the same trick "earning" at least 3 penalties in the process.
I hate these decisions when they are against you but, by the letter of the rules, they are fouls and therefore penalties.
P.S. Why did Boyle not get praise?

1000's of absent Aberdeen fans can't be bothered watching crap football. That was before lockdown when they were finishing 2nd or 3rd. Maybe they're like Miller and see 2nd a 1st loser.
When Lewis got his international cap he spent the whole game wailing about how out of his depth Lewis was, when he did a fine job.
He’s a complete weirdo.

I know Morelas has been criticised in the past however if he had the coverage his often bizarre behaviour merited they would still be talking about incidents from 2019 until now.
So many Morelas apologists amongst pundits it is scary yet it seems this is a free for all.
As others have said boo hoo we have been shafted for years if we get a couple of breaks then they are well over due.

Possibly he did but then claimed for presumably a pen.
Look we are all delighted with the win but Martin was a lucky boy not to see red.

Why, he got fouled for the 2nd incident as well?

Throughout a game numerous players step across the defender, take the bump and go to ground earning a foul.
Saw a Southampton player do just that against Brighton yesterday. He got a free kick and the commentator mentioned how smart it was.
Martin Boyle did exactly the same thing but in the box. Still a foul so definitely a penalty.

I know he was fouled, I can see it clearly.

Glad the sheep botherers are greeting again.
Mind Gordon had a weird one man campaign mocking Malonga for apparently being rotten when we were in the championship. Never replied to my tweet after he skinned half their team in the league cup tie and slotted it home.
Also Doidge more recently and GOC who he called a diver for weeks even though he had been cleared of diving by sfa. Pretty sure he also said it was karma when Hibs went down which imo seems an incredible thing to say. Wonder if he went on about the shed load of appalling decisions we were handed that season e.g Jordan Forster offside goal when 5 yards onside under the linesmans nose. :faf::faf:

On first viewing it looked like a stonewaller to me, second time around not so much but he definitely did not dive imo, he did go down very easily though, but that's the game now. Naismith of Hearts has to be the best at it I've seen sine John Macdonald in the late 70s - 80s.

I mentioned after the game that Boyle conceded a similar penalty against Aberdeen earlier this season.

Ryan Porteous is becoming the new Steven Pressley in how he goes to ground with the slightest touch.

Sometimes he goes down and doesn't get the foul. Against Rangers on Boxing Day he went down looking for a non existent foul and the Rangers player should have scored

” Boyle dived and should have been sent off “. Says the headline on BBC sportspage. They’re still bigging this story and still not managed to produce a slowmo or close up of the incidents.
Pathetic program, pathetic analysts .

What a bore he is. I remember on one show last summer he was trying to create an “explosive” story about the timing of some phone call between the Dundee CEO and Doncaster. Tom was telling us how this would be all over the front pages on Monday - never mind the back pages. I don’t think it even hit one back page.

Stopped listening to anti Hibernian BBC JamboSound a long time ago. It long ago lost its impartiality and hires anyone that is anti Hibernian. Let's move on from being a victim of the BBC and call for true non bias through independence that may take longer than folks think but it will be a clean break from the despicable discrimination of the past how many decades ago, until the brighter future that we all want to see is not only a vision but reality. Bring it on.

No thanks. We require a clean sweep of the old guard.
No more BBC heartsound, no more of the anti Hibernians.
We want a level playing field, in the reality not merely toyed with as per Head of BBC Heartsound Tom English etc.

Don't know why you replied to my post considering what you've said. My point is that we need a complete clear out or get rid of institutions like the BBC to cleanse Scotland of institutional anti Hibernian bigotry and bias. Roxburgh changed nothing. In fact its got much worse in recent years.
