I got a somewhat fortunate treble up on the racing. In the 17:35 at Sligo the winner was disqualified and my horse declared the winner. My two subsequent bets then came in, so £10 returned £110.

At the time I did think the disqualified horse cut across my horse in the run-in, but I didn't expect a disqualification. In all honesty, I think it was a good call by the stewards, as there was definite interference. The fact it won me £110 in no way sways my judgement :greengrin

Only second. Ran in a monsoon, but the ground wasn't a problem, it was the slugglish start over a 5f sprint which was decisive. The winner started very well and ran alone along the other side of the track. Texting did well to get himself second but ran out of time.

I always think it's worth having a look at a race with an odds on runner; sometimes it's hard to see why they are so short and it's worth a wee gamble against them :agree:

I don't know if it's case of folk getting a whisper and betting large on a horse. We are hardly talking about an Enable or a Frankel here.

Betfair do 'acca edge', so for slightly reduced odds you will get your stake back if one leg of your acca loses. As it's only stake returned, I never bother, as I rarely have a large bet on an acca: it's usually a tenner or so.

Gosden horse Cape Palace might be a two year old worth remembering. I just watched his debut on the all weather at Newcastle on the 7f , and he took off like a sports car the moment his jockey asked him anything, winning by around eight lengths against some decent enough opposition. He has an entry in the Dewhurst for October and for next year's Derby. very impressive for first race.

You could add or subtract teams and build a wee win from a couple of quid. Often a team or two will let you down, but it's only small stakes.
