I still think Campbell is worth a punt, would only just be 27 at the start of next season. With a full preseason and regular games i think SDG would get him firing again.
He was class for Motherwell, and it was only 2 seasons back that he played almost every game for Luton when they got promoted to the Prem. Since then it's not went well for him at all, but it'd be mad to write him off at 26 year old. He'd offer more than Kwon, and we'll need more depth in centre mid.

I feel like it's the type of move that see's him go back to Motherwell next and just see if he can recapture something to even be an asset at this level. The last 3 seasons for him have been a total write off and he's struggled consistently. I'd stay well clear personally.
It's only this season and last season that he's struggled.

Yeh i agree, Rocky and Miller have shown what can be done with a bit of faith and patience, Campbell is a proven quality, just lost his way a little.

You're right it's just two since he was doing well for Luton in the Championship. I'm still not overly impressed and sold on him. If he was to come in and do a pre-season with us and we liked what we saw and there wasn't any issues then I can be won over on the clubs judgement of him. But at the moment I find it hard to think it's not the start of a decline that's hard to stop.

Aaron connolly is a free agent. didnt do too well last season but there is a good player in there somewhere.
Also Moguel Alfarela is a very good technical player but wasnt given a chance for Legia here in poland. By a few people who know him, he has the ability.

Some people's obsession with signing Campbell is getting to the point of a .net joke. Like the elusive trying to find the 'Matty Jack' type player.
Let it it go. We can find better and should be aiming higher this window than the likes of this .net myth.

Only if you count Luton when he was part of their EPL squad, which would be harsh. That's a level above Campbell, and Luton went out and brought in better players that left him out the picture.

He was training with Luton’s squad twice this season and got punted on loan both times despite them being in relegation trouble during the January window.

So no real form or consistency for last 2 seasons - is that not an alarm bell for someone who is not a teenager?

Rocky Bushiri was tatties last 2 seasons. Players sometimes just need the right management.
The bit in bold - yeah, could be.
I don't think we should be shutting ourselves off to that market/that kind of player though. Players who've hit a bit of a stumbling block in their career can be great signings.
That all said, I'm not in any way desperate for us to sign Allan Campbell. I just remember a good player at this level at Motherwell, and a guy who performed really well in the English Championship for a couple of seasons, getting himself a Scotland cap in the process...not that long ago in the grand scheme of things.

When I first saw Connelly I thought he looked a great prospect and was a player who had the potential to play at a high level but the guys had some serious issues unfortunately. Think he’s really brave here and hopefully he’s turned his life around and someone gives him a chance because he has the ability to be a very good player for someone …

Not sure Campbell would be someone I'd be looking at when he's struggled to get a game for Dundee United, and by all accounts has been pretty poor.
Some players careers just peter out and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case with Campbell.
Could actually see him signing for Hearts. Seems like their type of signing with McInness in charge.

Surely just as a guest
13 goals and 5 assists in the championship this season, probably would get quite a few offers!
Just saw they triggered an extension in his contract and he’s said Santos and teams from the MLS were previously interested
Never realised he’s 31!

No. He was signed and coached by Nathan Jones at Charlton who has dragged the Addicks into the League One Play Off Final. Campbell was very very poor for Charlton and did absolutely nowt at D. Utd.

Definitely a player I would like to see at ER, market value suggests £600k, must be on our radar and would really add to the squad, particularly if lose someone.

Yeah I reckon Saturday is so important to if Rocky stays (if there's still a chance) and Hoilett.
Beyond that I wouldn't imagine there's too much left to announce as most players are under contract and the loans will end as per normal and then we just have to spend the summer hoping Triantis joins again.

Why? The last two are good players, the first performed very admirably before his move to Celtic.
Scottish football isn’t a dead backwater and some good players pass by, some good players struggle whereas some poorer players thrive it happens in all leagues but fortunate we have attracted these players to our league despite their perceived issues.

Same. Hopefully he is away. Quite funny though that he repeatedly turned them down, said he was leaving, had a crap season in which the fans turned on him, took the huff, put on more of a belly and now nobody else wants him and he has to go back and likely sign back on for less cash with tail firmly squashed between his chubby thighs. Reminds me of the Jerry Maguire scene with the 'who's coming with me' bit but instead it's a 'who wants me' with him expecting a stampede only for it just to be Renee Zellweger (second rate Turkish team) that come forward and it's all very awkward.

From what I can see online, Shankland managed a total of 8 league goals this season. 1 against Ross County and 3 against Dundee before the split. Followed by 2 against Ross County and 2 against Motherwell after the split. Not a single league goal v top 6 opposition and 3/4 of them coming against the teams who finished 10th and 11th.
If that warrants a bumper new contract then more fool them. It’s much more likely last season was a purple patch, never to be replicated. He’s fat, slow and looks disinterested most of the time.

Feel like Stuart Armstrong is destined to be back at Dundee United. Would take him at Hibs for sure but I'd imagine that means Junior Hoilett wouldn't be staying as we already have McGrath and Campbell that are similar type of players.
Edit: FWIW I imagine the 'chat' on Twitter is a load of nonsense anyway.
According to my DU supporting mate they are a bit brassic. They have released/end of contracted 15 players which is 2nd only to St Johnstone (21) who got relegated. He said they will need to try and get the wage bill down so cannot see them splashing out on anyone. Their wages to turnover has been increasing and I think peaked around 90% last year. By all accounts Dalby has had offers from the Championship so won't be back either (he also turned down an extension at Wrexham)

Hearts sign Alexandors Kyziridis, a 24 year old winger from the Slovakian Super League.
15 goals and 4 assists in 26 games this season which is very impressive, although unsure what the standard is like over there.
Seems to be his best season by an absolute mile.
Interesting to see how he fits in to a Mcinnes side. Mcinnes relies heavily on his wingers but tend to be British players who are rapid or cross it from wide

The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be eventful for Guinean players, and Balla Moussa Conté is no exception. The young defensive midfielder is attracting interest, particularly from Hibernian FC. The Scottish club is showing serious interest as the next transfer window approaches.
Determined to renew its squad for the upcoming season, Hibernian FC has targeted the Guinean international to strengthen its midfield. According to exclusive information from Africafoot, the Scottish club has been in concrete discussions with Conté's representatives for nearly two weeks. However, a definitive agreement is still elusive.
#EspoirsAfrique – Top 5 Most Expensive Guinean U20 Players
Hibernian FC, which has been tracking the player since last season, has already submitted an initial offer including a two-year contract. However, negotiations are currently stalled over the signing bonus. The Scottish club is offering $50,000, a far cry from the $200,000 requested by the player's entourage, who plays for Club Sportif de Sfax. A source close to the matter said:
Hibernian's interest is genuine. The only sticking point remains the signing bonus, which does not yet meet our expectations. Scotland, however, would be a great opportunity for Balla Moussa. We hope the club will make an effort to increase its offer.
Balla Moussa Conte: In Tunisia, Balla Moussa Conte has demonstrated the extent of his potential. Having become a pillar of CS Sfaxien over the seasons, he is now attracting the attention of several European clubs. In addition to Hibernian, FC Zurich is also keenly interested in the Guinean, as recently revealed exclusively by Africafoot. However, the Tunisian club's financial demands are complicating discussions. A member of the player's entourage explains:
We really hope he leaves Sfax at the end of the season. Several interesting offers are on the table, but Sfax is demanding more than $2 million to release him. This demand is holding up many of the negotiations that began last year. Hibernian is showing real interest, and we're trying to move things forward.
A former player at the La Louvière Academy, Conté continues to impress this season with Sfax. Despite requests from several clubs, his representatives are making every effort to convince the Tunisian management to let him leave.

Tough one, might be 2 years with a option of a third if we want it
Less of a risk and leaves us in a strong position if he’s good
Hearts sign Alexandors Kyziridis, a 24 year old winger from the Slovakian Super League.
Posted this on another thread.
Looking at SofaScore, 4 of his 15 were penalties. 7 of the 15 were in the 10 post-split matches against the bottom 6 teams. Before the split, 5 were against teams that ended up bottom 6 and 3 that ended in the top 6 (the teams that finished 3rd, 4th and 6th). So mostly against the likes of the Slovakian St Johnstone, Ross County etc.

I think SDG will be a big one for ‘players that know the league’, especially in the middle of the park. I’d be surprised if we had two in Conte and Manneh that haven’t played in the UK before.
Also with the rumour of Ledson being shown round and still having Newell, Levitt, NMW and Kenneh on the books who can play one of the sitting 2, albeit Kenneh will likely be away.

I'm about 99% certain he has signed with RC - it was a loan then a contract at the end of the loan.
Regardless, he is hours away from not being a Hibs player.
One more remains from that time, Jair - I think he has another year. It would be great to see him shipped off the books, but not sure how likely that is.

If it's a case of Swansea not wanting him but happy to put him back out on loan then I'd take him. Same if it was a really small fee to keep him. I believe he has just one more year left of his deal at Swansea (with the option of a 4th but I imagine that's not going to happen) so he could be available this summer for a relatively affordable fee.

I agree with you and I hope it is at least something we are exploring. I seen his market value on Transfer Market is €1.5M which is completely unrealistic. If we could get him for what we paid for Vente I would not be against it or as you say another loan.

I think the issue could be his wage at Swansea is probably higher than the current top earner at the club. It will likely come down to if he can get close to what he's currently on elsewhere or not.

Ronan Hale of Ross county might be a decent signing, he’s playing tonight against Livingston, I think he’s scored 13 goals this season for a poor team, and as a record of scoring goals in lower European competitions in Ireland, he’s relatively young.

Not in ITK but heard strong rumours from someone connected to the club we are interested in Hanley. I mean I've slated the guy for years in a Scotland strip but I think he could do a job for us in the SPL/europe tbh.

Charles-Cook is a weird one. Can’t see him playing as a wingback and we don’t play wingers. Can’t see us changing from 3-5-2 (or 5-3-2 if you prefer) any time soon.

Think he can play in the two. Him and Boyle as spilt strikers who are comfortable taking the ball out wide aswell.
He's a player we know can be good in the Scottish league. That normally works as a safe transfer strategy.

Hanley is a better player than Hanlon though, don't think that's even up for debate.

Did he make the mistakes though because he wasn't getting enough game time at his club. I would not rule him out completely but the backroom team would need to be able to assess if its age catching up with him or whether he still has 1 or 2 seasons in him at our level with regular game time. I think even with his lack of games and mistakes he is comparable if not better than our immediate competitors in the league outside of the old firm.

"Can't get a game" is a bit of a harsh assessment of his last 6 months. He was brought in as cover at a team that got 111 points (and well overspent for that league) and seemed rated enough to come in and play when needed.
He wouldn't be the at the top of my list but if he was to sign for us in place of Rocky for a year or two I could live with that. The guys played nearly 400 games alone for Blackburn Rovers and Norwich, some of that in the Prem. Not saying it automatically makes him a great player but all I've heard for years is how bad he is from Scotland fans and yet his reputation down south seems dependable enough for everyone to keep using him in some way.

He can ask but he will only get what someone is willing to pay - if we were genuinely interested and he prices himself out of the move then so be it. He needs to understand that whilst there will be a point he will likely not go below he is not getting any younger, his trajectory is going down the way so his ability to command the high wage may not be there. If someone in England is wiling to pay him £10K+ then fair play to him and we move on.

He certainly sounds good but no real evidence yet that it’s actually going to be him. Doubt he knows much about the Scottish game and wonder if we might be better with someone who does. My other worry about anyone who comes in is that they might risk upsetting the apple cart. I still have high hopes for Rudi who started the season really well, then was put back on the bench and had an injury hit season. 19 is still a young age, i think a loan will be on the cards and would rather see him at a lower end premiership team tbh, think we can we can do better than Dunfermline for the lad.
Love Rudi, good player and a great lad. Dunfermline would be the perfect move for him imo. They will challenge next season and be right up there.
I know they want two or three of our younger lads.

I think if Lennon stays at the Pars the type of guy he is he will undoubtedly be wanting to try for the championship title. I think there would be more chance of Rudi playing regularly there than a team in the lower end of the premier , plus you have the fact if the Pars do mount a title challenge they are winning more than a team struggling in the bottom end of the premier which brings different things to a player like confidence, feel good factor etc .

Any idea what boys they want? Can the u19s play league football on loan and European football for the Hibs young team?

They've not challenged for the championship title in 15 years, i don't see it happening next season either, St Johnstone should be favourites if Livingston fail to make it, one of them two could be a better move or even Partick.

I would like them to be up there as i don't mind them as a club, it's a good location for him I'll admit and i agree any loan move would be better than sitting on the bench most weeks.
I wonder who they would be looking at from the 18's Cleland would be one I'd think?
This happened last time we won the youth league and we didn't loan anyone out because they played in Europe, wonder if this will happen again?

That will severely impact our transfer dealings now
Make it a lot harder to convince Rocky and Triantis you would think

Yep. Gutting. That result today has also likely cost us a shed load of cash.

It just means we can't buy quality players like Dhanda and Spittal.

I think what we need to do is border line impossible for us.
We had Luzern and Villa last time, I thought Luzern were a quality side who we done very well to beat
It will be full of top teams again

We have to beat them. We beat Luzern but (hopefully) we do not get a villa again. If we do we do 🤷*♂️

Not if teams with guaranteed Europe until Xmas are interested.
Today's result will have the recruitment team changing their whole outlook.

Triantis and his agent would have known the score as soon as Celtic put us out the Scottish, though. From then on, we were never guaranteed group stage football. They knew what place came with finishing third.

Triantis hasn't signed for us next season, unless I have missed that?

Will they be changing their whole outlook or will they have been sensible enough to plan for both scenarios? They could never have planned definitively for anything until after today. For the first time in ages I have a bit faith that we’ll move on accordingly.

Nobody said he had? At least, none of the posts I can see on this thread state he has. I was merely suggesting that Triantis and his agene, when considering any possible moves next season, would have been well aware that we were sitting third, were occupying a place in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, and would likely be in that place next season and if he wanted guaranteed european football, then his future may lie elsewhere. To suggest that anyone has said he has signed for next season is totally disingenuous and wild!

One hopes that they have Contingency plans already mapped out. I would like to think they did but I've known many a person in business to not think about "what could" happen. Football and otherwise.

Apologies, I misread.
However today's result doesn't help our case for resigning triantis. That's a fact.

The ‘what could’ was the automatic qualification though. We’ve never had that. We’ve got the same prize now that we had this morning.

I don't disagree. Hopefully we planned accordingly. Much like when we don't budget for a cup run.
