He does commentary for them all the time and rangers are investing in his academy.
As well as referring to rangers as “us” constantly whilst commentating. He’s a hun, unfortunately
A successful Rangers team will keep the wolf from his door. The minute they hit the skids he’ll be dropped like a turd. I hope we hibbys remember to keep the barriers up when he tries to crawl back as a long lost one of us. He’s toast as a Hibby.

Other than Rangers TV for some home games
Good to see he’s still got his Academy going, though wonder if he still has the time to do it
It was curious listening to him pundit that last game at Ibrox, falling over himself to be the Rangers man while at the same time telling us what a great club Hibs are and how much he loves Ryan Porteous. Seriously mixed up kid. If the Fast Show had been set at Ibrox he’d be Indecisive Dave. Great player though, no question.

Got disaster written all over it.
They’ve messed up by leaving it too late, Conte would have been ideal but he’s no longer available. I’d be sounding out Rodgers, not having the best season but a fresh challenge might be what he needs. I think he has taken Leicester as far as he can.

3 semi finals, a final - losing on penalties (fine margins), second last season and 3rd best win % in Man u’s history. On paper he did a good job in the post Ferguson world of Man U just being one of the pack. In the wider context I think he’s a limited manager at the very top and made them less than the sun of their parts.
A little bit of a flippant point from me but I do think OGS at Man U mirrors the Jack Ross debate in a lot of aspects.

Why? He's a very good manager. Turned Madrid from a very good side in a legendary one. 3 CL in a row is an unparalleled achievement.
Zidane likely too big a personality for the spineless board, though. It will be a nice yes man like Poch

It'll be a caretaker til end of season then the wrong appointment.
It should be Erik ten haag. They'll blow the bank on Zidane or someone for a year or so then it'll end in tears.

Such a daft appointment although not having Calvert-Lewin has affected them massively. Plus his predecessors spent a fortune on average players and he's left having to pick up the likes of Rondon and Townsend.

He's in deep trouble. Many Evertonians didn't want him from the start; current form makes him very vulnerable. He's had terrible luck with injuries to key players, and the Everton hierarchy seems dysfunctional, but it's always the manager who carries the can. If they lose their next couple of games, I don't think he'll survive.

Yep daft because he called Everton a small club or something like that. The Goodison faithful will never give him time to turn it around although to be fair, their ire seemed to be directed more at the Board than Benitez last night.

I’m surprised McInnes has gone to Killie. I thought have thought he had enough pedigree to have attracted better offers than a team who are currently sitting 4th in the Scottish Championship. He must desperately want back in the game and to stay in Scotland.
With a bit backing and an astute transfer window, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Killie fight their way up the league. For all that McInnes’s teams played in an unnecessarily cynical way, he’s still a bit of a coup for Kilmarnock.

Yes, with hindsight that was a huge misjudgement on his part. He would have improved the Hun quicker than the on they appointed ( whoever that was). He also knocked back Sunderland around the same time.
Strangely enough, I could see him back at Aberdeen, once they've punted Glass.
Don’t think he’ll be back at Aberdeen, as long as Dave Cormack is around

He will get them up.
I think he’ll do just fine for them, and he’s got the whole transfer window to get in better players
I’m pretty convinced he will too - I’m just surprised that it’s come to this for him. He doesn’t get much credit in the bank for getting Killie out of that league - though I’m sure he’s more concerned by actual money in the bank, which is completely fair enough for a guy who’s currently out of work.
When Ross left us I had thought that the next bottom six job that came up would be his - or between him and McInnes. I’m extremely excited about Maloney’s appointment but I’d have been pretty happy had DM been given the job.
Which is all to say: I think it’s a massive coup for Killie - but a pretty big risk for McInnes.
Stevie Reid
05-01-2022, 02:24 AM
Not really, Steve Clarke got the Scotland gig on the back of doing well at Killie
He did, but Killie were at least an SPL team at the time, and Clarke also had a pretty illustrious career as an assistant manager to fall back on.
Bigger risk for McInnes than it was for Clarke in terms of reputation IMO.
JimBHibees
05-01-2022, 07:50 AM
Given McInnes family stay west of Scotland think he has a few kids it makes sense from a work life balance. Killie still a reasonably big Scottish club and based where they are probably helped this decision. Good appointment for both I think.

Probably lifestyle played a part in McInnes' decision as before Aberdeen he lived in Houston, probably still has his house there and its nice and close to both Kilmarnock and the South side of Glasgow where I think Killie train. Still a decent gig in Scottish football, maybe the best if you exclude the larger city clubs.

He does appear to be employed by the most understanding club in the world, its one thing to be approached by a bigger club when your in a job....its another to be actively touting yourself. Comments like these also mean it is very unlikely he could ever manage Hibs or Aberdeen as well, the kind of clubs that would provide the type of spring board that could lead to an appointment like Rangers. Can't imagine too many clubs being overly interested if they think he will be looking for the next step after being in the door for 5 mins.
Kelty are going well this season and the St Johnstone score certainly will have given them a bit more press, even so not too many will be looking at the 4th tier of Scottish football for their next managerial appointment.

It's not very good for the stability of a football club at this stage of the season. Unless they spend millions in the next 7 days Hull have a pretty ***** squad that could easily now find themelves in relegation bother.
End of the season, fair enough I would kind of see their point but now, having had a good season and performing well above themselves, not as much.
Or perhaps the owner feels it’s important to get a new manager in and settle himself in over the next few months before pre season to have a better chance next season? They aren’t going to get promoted this season but I doubt they will get relegated either. It’s fair enough if they have aspirations of going to the Premier League and want to replace the manager who has them sitting 19th in the Championship.

Have to say, after seein he’s signed till the end of the season, you gotta admire that he is up for this! Me bein nearer his age than most previously discoursin on what & when, that’s a subjective one, some spend they’re best young energetic time railing away unnecessarily, & mebbes tire, others due to genetics or fate or whatever are up for it at 50/60/70 who knows, but just as kids develop at different levels as they grow up, aulder yins go to pasture at different stages tae! One thing I know, having never been 60 or 70 or subjected to the retirement caper yet, I am no in any rush to embrace it. Wasn’t in my 20/30s either cos I knew nothing about it. But that’s just me.
It's a bit like the Still Game episode where they mind Navids shop for him while he's away.

Seemingly Harry is going in until the end of the season with Frank who will be permanent manager.

Lampard's his nephew, maybe Harry giving him a wee helping hand.

That plus his experience of getting out of trouble, can't be a bad thing. Could actually be a very clever move.

i wish both of them lots and LOTS of failure
and just because Everton have joined my betting list for never picking again after a few losses i'm really not bitter but i do hope they get relegated due to some of their fans thinking their club has a 'relationship' with Sevco, ****s :agree::cb
p.s. not just relegated to the championship i mean the conference

Interesting. I’ve never heard that and I live in the city and follow Everton. The blues I know can’t stand The Rangers, and even less after Gerrard was their manager

it was only one everton fans forum right enough, but i had a wee sketch when they signed the young lad from Sevco, i did close the browser tab when i read one of them mentioning this 'close' relationship they have going back to duncan ferguson
maybe if i weren't so sickened(and more patient) i may have came across someone questioning the dude that said it :cb:greengrin
