Some fans at the cup final. Make it a ballot for those who have renewed arson tickets and sales will go through the roof.

Why should someone that has a ticket for next season get a ticket when people who have one for this season that haven't been to any games but can't afford to renew not go into it?

Are your tickets linked on Hibs system? That would qualify I would think.

Not sure Hibs will enjoy having to make a decision on who the limited tickets go to with such short notice.

Because it was an off the cuff thought on how that might get more sales more quickly?
I’m pretty sure Hibs will not limit any ballot to next season renewals only so probably no need to be getting angst about that quite yet!
Anyway...2 more added to the renewals like today from me [emoji736]

Definitely madness, until full capacity or as near as possible to then what other income will they have? Can only be league position and share of tv money imo, cant see that going far in running a full time club.

Fantastic from Motherwell, not everyone can afford to donate £400 or whatever the cost is to a football club and I imagine it’s easier to keep loyal fans rather than attract new fans.
I know we offered a partial refund last season but there probably wasn’t a big uptake, not sure if we are offering anything this season though?

Nothing. You had to apply for it before July 2020 if you didn’t you were tied in.

There’s incentives to buy this year but not quite the same as a free season ticket.
Difference between us and Well is due to the numbers we usually sell we’re probably more reliant on ST money than Motherwell in terms of the amount it raises for us.
Free season tickets are a fantastic gesture but I’m happy to pay for mines if it reaps the rewards that we’re on the brink of achieving this season.

Think I’d have went half way house and offered them at half bat or whatever...they would have probably received the same amount of goodwill from that rather than giving them for absolute nothing.

I think any ballot has to be restricted to those fans who had a season ticket for 20/21 because those are the ones who didn't get to attend a game.
There's a logic to saying that there should be a further restriction to those that have renewed, but that is likely to cause resentment amongst those who haven't done so because they can't afford a ticket for 21/22.

Spot on, my thinking too. I also think you should have to opt into the ballot as plenty don’t want to or can’t attend anyway.

In previous years this information would have been provided at the same time as season ticket details.
Am I missing something but why are Hibs not currently providing this information together with a date when the early bird scheme ends.
I intend renewing my season ticket but it would be helpful if I knew the end date so I could arrange to assemble my funds.

They can’t say when they’ll be released as they’ve not said when the EB ends and then the renewal period ends. In normal times it’s early-mid June but after delaying the deadline several times last season they’ve obviously decided to leave it open ended just now.
An option is to buy a ticket at the EB price and then ask for a swap when that’s available?

IIRC Hibs used to have a scheme whereby if you were a season ticket holder and were unable to attend a game, you could advise the ticket office and they would make your seat available for general sale.
If the seat was sold the holder then received a discount for the following season.
Don’t know if this scheme still exists or if there were difficulties which meant it wasn’t workable.
I agree with Key West and think the club could work out a system whereby they could sell season tickets that only apply to weekend games and help out those who work shifts during the week and find it difficult to attend night games.

How many people who buy season tickets are severely left out of pocket due to the fact that games are moved to midweek? Depending on the numbers could the club come up with some sort of flexibility on an ST?
There has never been a season when I've made every game, I even try to swap shifts when the fixtures come out only to find that game has been moved, the way that I see it is I'm not out of pocket because the season ticket has already been paid for, there is nothing the club can do and it's no different at any other club. It's the way of the world TV company's dictate the fixtures.

I'm probably more likely to miss Saturday games, I like midweek fixtures. Expect to be in the minority with that one though!

I got the club email reminding us about the upcoming end of Early Bird Special ST. The email went on to thank us for our continued support. Below is the paragraph that said it and I was wondering if anyone knows why it doesn’t mention HSL? I don’t have an issue about that and not looking for any negativity, just curious.
We know times have been tough, so we really are thankful to every fan who not only buys a season ticket, but supports us through purchasing merchandise, Hibs TV, Happy Hibee Tickets and even following us and sharing our news on the many media platforms.

Usually there’s a short window for existing ST holders to swap seats before general release. I’ve done it a couple of times no bother at all.

To be fair it would be easier for them to sell out their smaller capacity sub 20k seat stadium than us.
But I’m sure that sub 20k capacity for Tiny doesn’t irk them at all.
Or spending £30m to achieve an extra 2k seats.

Would expect majority of folk nearly double vaccinated by then so I would expect them to open stadiums up if they are allowing 12,000 at the Euros down the road.
Starting to see crowds at various sporting events around the world so Scottish league surely can accommodate a reasonable about of Scottish fans - majority of stadiums don’t sell out anyway.
I would expect a small amount of away fans also - though maybe priority will go to home fans which might not be a bad thing with no Old firm fans at ER

Sitting at 25% of capacity at the moment.
So no away fans and hoping for 50% capacity when the season starts which would allow 10,000 season ticket holders to attend............but i'm worried it is more likely to be 7,000 which probably means we could get to attend 2 out of 3 home games and watch the other at home

This will be controversial but if we are restricted to less capacity than our season ticket holder numbers thought should be given to the season tickets for kids under 9 being suspended to allow as many other season ticket holders to attend as possible until allowable capacity grows.
A lot of the really young kids that folk bring along have little interest in what is happening on the park and under the restriction in the stadium they won't be able to run about the place as they previously did. It is also unreasonable to expect young kids to sit on their seat for a couple of hours.

Every adult over the age of 18 should have been offered at least one dose by the end of July so we'll still be some way off everyone being fully protected by then.
I would think every adult will have had both doses by October.
Then we'll probably need to think about the boosters for the elderly population again.

In what capacity stadium? 37,000 would for example only be 40% capacity in a stadium of almost 100,000 capacity.
As I said previously we need to hope we are allowed 50% capacity come the new season to allow even season ticket holders to attend.
We already have almost 10,000 season ticket holders and there are still 8 weeks until the season starts.
Some other idea might be allowable e.g. allowing those who have had two jags to fill the East and West stands unrestricted whilst the FF with reduced capacity is for those who have had 1 jag and the South with reduced capacity would be for the young folk who have had no jags.
Won't happen because it's too complicated but it would ensure we can at least get all our season ticket holders in and a quantity of home walk ups.
However, we are running out of time and case numbers are taking off again. Everyone is watching to see if it results in high hospital numbers and deaths again and if it doesn't it may persuade the powers that be to allow football crowds back in high numbers again.
Given the current uncertainty I, like others, can't believe I have shelled out big bucks again without seeing it play out but that is the madness of supporting Hibs.

Happy for them to suspend my kids' season tickets and refund the appropriate monies if it is widely accepted that this is the fairest way forward. I personally wouldn't go without them, I just wouldn't feel comfortable saying goodbye to them and heading off to the game, I don't think I would be able to justify why I was getting to go and they were not mind you.

Given the recklessness of the Americans you would imagine Scotland will struggle to allow a similar percentage by the end of July.

Don’t see the South being available to fans as long as it’s used as an away team dressing room.

Surely they will start to resume to use the proper away dressing room
and open the south stand. Worst case scenario add a porta cabin between the stands.
Would you feel safe attending a game having had 2 vaccines ?
Would you feel safe attending a game with 2 vaccines and others haven’t ?
They were discussing different scenarios on the radio this morning and most people said if they have both vaccinations they are happy to mix with those who haven’t.

Just to add my tuppence worth but if we get to normalish ST sales and stadium capacity is still limited to 50% spread across all 4 stands then those who have paid full whack should be prioritised over those on heavily discounted tickets...and away STs should miss out on all home games as they'll get tickets for all thd away games instead🙄😏😉

I'll gamble on there being significantly more allowed at both Easter Road and Tynecastle. There will be a multi-agency event and planning group as you rightly point out which will look at Hibs and Hearts fixtures together and come to an agreed figure based on capacity and layout of both stadia and risk management plans.
I'll go for around 4000/5000 maximum attendance at the first games for both clubs. They are allowing 16,500 at the Lions game at Murrayfield later this month which is around 25% of their capacity.

Hibs better get onto upgrading the HibsTV, TheMatch and other interactions with fans then.
Obviously not Hibs fault but another season of very little to no matches at stadiums again will decimate our ST numbers. Same with all clubs.
If we don’t get most home fans back sometime around August/September we’ll not be in ER this year in my opinion. Winter will likely see yet another spike as we tend to open up, have a party, have a lockdown, open up, have a party…
We’re seeing another wave approach but Euros hasn’t been cancelled. Just asking people not to travel.
One last blast before a lockdown, much like the last time. “Behave yourself…please” is a great rousing call.

Nope. Also don’t think we’ll see anything more than 25% at any point throughout the season.
There’s very little appetite within Scotland to get fans back into football imo. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of clubs would rather stay closed doors unless it’s full capacity. Probably costs them less. They’ve already got the ST money, actually allowing the fans in with heavily reduced capacity will cost the clubs a hell of a lot of money from this point compared to having nobody in. There’ll be no additional revenue to be made and big operating costs.

I would presume their running costs will be based around the amount of season tickets they usually sell? Basically just the exact same way we’ve survived but on a much smaller scale.
In some ways these clubs will potentially have had it even easier than the bigger clubs. With most of them only ever giving out one year contracts they would have been able to start with a clean slate and assemble as cheap a squad as possible last summer if needed. Not something that clubs like us who hand out 3 and 4 year contracts will have had.

This is on the money. The only hope is that letting at least 25% in will encourage more uptake of seasons and perhaps more knowledge of the virus will mean less fear of picking it up off surfaces which might mean less cleaning of stuff in the open air is required.

Someone put something up on here when there was talk of making £5m from European group stage football that it cost something like over £100k to host a game at ER with fans in normal circumstances. If that figure is correct, with all the extra work needing done to keep it ‘safe’ and no extra income I’m not sure that many teams will be in a rush to spend £2m+ a year for nothing extra in return that they’re not spending just now.

Season ticket holders who have had both jags for at least two weeks should get access into specific stands with the other stands left for those who have had one jag for at least three weeks to have socially distanced access.
That would allow almost all season ticket holders into Easter Road in August.

Of course it costs extra to have fans in the stadium than not - but that's not really the point IMO. Hibs should be getting as many fans into the ground as they can depending on what the rules dictate and negotiating with SG/CEC for more regardless.
I get that football has the emotional aspect that no other business can compare to but there's only so far and for so long you could show such a lack of consideration to your customers before it would become harmful to the business in the long term.
I don't think it will happen anyway, Hibs will get as many of us in to ER as quickly as they can.

Of course Hibs (and all other clubs) should be doing that but I wouldn’t be surprised if at least some of them aren’t making much of an effort to push the matter. Infact I’d suggest the silence from most Scottish teams would suggest that’s definitely the case.
Some clubs whilst they’ll of course not actively try and stop fans getting in will imo undoubtedly be happy enough to see closed doors games continue until there’s the potential to have enough fans that walk ups can buy tickets, kiosks can be open etc. meaning that extra income can be raised.
