Early Bird pricing ran until 3 July last year - wonder how long we’ll see it in place for this time

I looked at Direct debit and the blurb never said anything about 6 monthly payments. You would have needed to know that before choosing and as I went straight from renewal email using the buy now link I was unaware there was even a interest free option. I only found that out reading this thread later.

I'll leave it there as most look like they have navigate their way to their chosen option and had awareness of everything they were signing up for. I'll wait for the ticket office to get back to me and I am sure they will sort it out.

I did the same, straight from email to renewal .. and at no point did it mention what was involved with the Direct Debit option.

It was only after coming on here, and following the links kindly shared, that I found out what the Direct Debit option was.

When I went to pay, I had the option for paying with card, direct debit or instalment plan.

I had to choose one. You must have had to do the same?

As someone who would have taken on the 6 month payment plan, I didn’t pick up on the meaning behind direct debit and have paid £70 to another company for my season tickets. I hadn’t seen mention of the club payment options.

This is on me and I made that decision.

What is positive about this thread is that others who might make the same mistake/ not pick up on what is on offer, will be aware.

I won’t be complaining to the club or the finance company that were good enough to give me credit.

My hope would be that the club consider my experience (and that of others) and look at how others can be stopped from making the same mistake.

Will teach me for doing it quickly during my lunch rather than waiting till I finished.

Especially since we're about a month later in putting the season tickets on sale this year.

Question. If you choose one of the finance options , 6 months or 4 monthly payments. Can you pay it up quicker once you have agreed to it or is that set in stone

It’s not so much a choice and more about when you sign up. If you sign up for it now it’s 6 months. If you sign up at the end of next month it’s 4 months.

Nothing I could see about early repayment, but I’m sure if you wanted to the ticket office would facilitate that once it was open.

There’s normally a “cooling off” period with finance applications. It’s likely you’ll have a few days to cancel the application and then reapply for the direct debit scheme.

Renewed - see it as my membership to my local community club.

Obviously possible may not get to see every game but trying to help the club grow further and compete is important.

Also understand everyone’s circumstances but hopefully we can get good numbers signing up.

I’m swithering on season tickets for me and the boy, I’m unsure if he’s too young yet to be honest just turned 5 so just looking at options, in the family section FF Lower there is a adult option and adult family option what’s the difference? both the same price is the child ticket at £50 only available with the adult family option? Child ticket prices at £85 in west lower where I’m also considering

I stupidly clicked instalment plan instead of direct debit. Is there a way, without contacting the ticket office to change now or do I just bite the bullet and pay extra.

I clicked Direct Debit by mistake. Emailed ticket office yesterday and got a reply this morning saying it had been cancelled and my seat would now show as available to me again.
Just need to do it again but at a pace relative to my pc competence (don't even have a smart phone, the one I have is only one step up from an abacus):greengrin

The club just replied to me as I mistakenly took out the finance option. I didn't follow through with the emails V12 sent so have not signed the agreement with them. The club have said phone V12, cancel the arrangement, let them know and then they can reset the system and you can go in via the DD option. I wonder how many the poor comms on this has caught out. Just off the phone to V12 and it only took 5 mins to sort out. Hopefully hear back from the club soon and get on with buying my two STs

Can’t think of another reason seats that were being used last season aren’t available now?

Apologises in advance if already mentioned I renewed yesterday, but will we still be using the same ticket to access the ground when we get back in. Also while I'm here does anyone know if we do qualify for the the group stages for the Europa League group stages, will the club offer a Europa League Season Ticket package for the home games. which can be added to the existing season ticket. Obviously after there has be a draw etc and we know who we would be playing. Just a curiosity.

:agree:
‘Since 1875’ are a big part of the atmosphere at Easter Road Stadium, which is why they relocated to the East Stand in Section 45.

If you’d like to be in and around them, the core group are based in rows AA and BB of Section 45 of the East Stand and there are spare seats in the surrounding areas.

Thank you for purchasing a season ticket for 2020/2021 at Easter Road, your support is greatly appreciated by everyone at the club.
If you have renewed your season ticket, please remember to retain your existing season card for the new campaign. You will not be issued with a new season card, unless you have changed price class, moved seat or are a new season ticket holder.
All supporters will also this year receive a digital version of their season ticket by email as we get close to the start of the season.
If you have purchased a concessionary ticket, the appropriate ID will be checked before your season ticket is activated or posted, as applicable.
We look forward to seeing you at Easter Road for the new season ahead. #WeAreAllHibs

I'm getting the same issue. I tried to renew last night and couldn't get the payment to work (didn't recognise my card as being correct type) and eventually it kicked me out saying I'd made too many attempts to buy it.

The 2 young lads haven’t made their mind up yet, likely to be many Sunday games due to Europe, and they play for their boys club that day

I've just renewed 2 for the FF5 Upper and also wanted the 2 spare seats next to ours in row LL
for 2 guys who didn't have a season ticket last year.
Long story short, I couldn't find one of their client ref numbers, so I rang the above mobile number and the person I spoke to had a great phone manner, was really helpful and brilliant to deal with. Job done 👍 🇳🇬

Any idea why they only offer a DD interest free for only 4 or 6 months? No option for 8 or 10 months?

As you’ll have seen I’m not happy about the interest being added (or the level of it).

Buying multiple tickets is costly and an already expensive purchase becomes even more expensive (despite the “price freeze”). It feels like they’re saying thanks for the money last year now can you sit pay it a bit quicker this season please?

It’s a fair question. I use the finance payment plan myself so shifted from that to another solution.

The club has absorbed the charges per supporter in the past and it turns into a sizeable six figure sum when combined - there was an insightful comment on here about rates and terms changing regularly and this decision needing a season by season review - difficult decision in this landscape.

However the club recognises the importance of offering different options (all at renewal beginning) and is this season running their own payment option alongside it - this is new for the club and will provide learning - if successful it can be looked at further for next season(s) in different/improved ways. Running a scheme direct comes with its own challenges though (resource).

I hope a good option appears for you if the club doesn’t have anything suitable.

Thanks for getting back to me. I just wonder how they’ll know - I suspect there’ll be a drop in users of the instalment plan but the club might write it off completely.

It feels like they’re “punishing” those most in need of the extended repayment time by charging them more.

In my situation this has caused me/us to look at it and for the club to charge us the £100 or so (up front in month 1 btw) they’re going to lose a student ticket (£225) and likely an adult seat (£385) that would have been renewed as soon as available (I was in the first 1000 last year) if the price freeze had been an actual thing.

Who’s best to contact at the club about this decision?

Kieran, I agree with DH’s point about the interest - I get the rationale from the club but it feels like this was the wrong season to do it. Last year we all bought season tickets and none of us have got to use them, and there’s no guarantee that we’ll be in next season as well.

I’d have thought a better balance would have been to say that the club considered charging the interest to the supporters using that option but under the circumstances felt now wasn’t the time to do it, so recognising times were tough for everyone, that decision has been pushed back a year and interest would become payable at that point.

That’s just my opinion, but i don’t think anyone would have complained about that, and it certainly would have felt like a price freeze.

On the flip side, the six month interest free option is fantastic for someone in my position, getting an adult and a youth ticket and splitting it over six months is great. The club deserve credit for that one.

That's my dad and me sorted for another season. This will be season 32 for me; where does the time go? It's frightening. My brother and nephew have bought theirs.

Perhaps we'll get to see some games at the stadium, perhaps we won't. If it's the same as this season, we just get with on it. We all know what the situation is; it's just a shame that some fans won't be able to re-new because of the financial consequences of the pandemic. Has the club any plans in place to help those people, other than paying by instalments? I've always been in favour of reduced prices for the unemployed and those on other benefits, for example. Just a wee idea to help those who want to be involved but are struggling badly just now.

We’re well aware that these are not normal times but in previous year around the same time as season ticket prices were issued details were also provided on :-

1) The date that the early bird scheme ended.

2) The end date on which you could claim your seat for the next season.

3) The date you could shift your seat if that is what you required.

Is there any known reason why this has currently not been provided ?

I’m guessing they’re waiting to see what the uptake is like, if it’s really slow they’ll extend the early bird period in the hope more will buy.

Yes, but half of our games will be on Sky/BT etc. I've also got IPTV.

The games I go to will be 3pm kick offs when I can get there and back by train, or the Friday night ones when I can stay at my mate's house.

I might come up for others, like European games, and also stay over but I don't want to impose on him too often.

A couple of nice gestures in there that shouldn't hit the clubs pocket too hard. The cashback initiative is an interesting idea, wonder how that will play out...

'The American-based chairman enjoys a close bond with the club's followers and those not claiming a partial refund will gain free entry to the club's first domestic Cup clash in front of supporters next season.

And Aberdeen fans who renew or sign up for a season card will also earn a seat at a legends match that will take place at some point during the new campaign.

Supporters have also been informed about a new cashback scheme that's coming into place that could even see season ticket holders receive £108.50 in money back if the club can secure 13,000 guaranteed sales."

Not a chance. They’ve had their greatest period of success the past decade which now looks to be well behind them, and they never got near those ST levels despite having European clashes against the likes of Bayern Munich and Burnley over this period as well with an unchallenged crack at second place. Empty gesture.

I agree the 13k and a refund is unlikely but it’s aspirational and will get some good headlines and a bit of feel good.

Good to give a couple of games for free in addition to a price freeze - looks like some some imagination was used.

There’s no cut off date just yet - when they know/decide you’ll get 1 weeks notice to get the EB price.

Not a chance. They’ve had their greatest period of success the past decade which now looks to be well behind them, and they never got near those ST levels despite having European clashes against the likes of Bayern Munich and Burnley over this period as well with an unchallenged crack at second place. Empty gesture.

They played Bayern in 2008. I don't think I'd count that as the McInnes success period.

Will probably just be for this renewal with normality resuming the following season.
If you remember last summer the deadline was extended on numerous occasions.
I presume this measure is to prevent the need for those date amendments.

They went on sale around a month later than usual
Think it will be sometime in June, but yes they should give a date

I just wonder if there’s a bit of worry of how many will renew, then they’ll give a weeks notice to push early bird sales through. Think 2 years ago we had over 12,000 sold by the early bird deadline

I don't really understand why we are going to no confirmed deadline just because the deadline was extended several times last year for reasons that I think most people understood.

I don't see why we can't announce a "no earlier than" deadline date.

Telling people there's Early Bird pricing but not giving any indication as to when the cut off might actually be really doesn't make sense to me.

The Early Bird scheme was extended a few times last year so I'm presuming they want to avoid that this time. I expect they'll give us an update on it soon enough.

TBH, I'm not really sure why that would bother anybody.

They kept having to delay it last year so I think they’re keeping their options open. I can’t remember why they “had” to delay it last year (I know it was COVID but can’t remember why the EB was delayed).

I just happen to think an Early Bird deadline should be communicated to people from the outset like it always has been.

I don't see what difference it makes if it then has to be extended.

It was extended last year because of the uncertainties over this season and giving people as much time as possible to know what would they would be buying i.e. eventually securing the PPV options etc.

As someone who only renews just prior to the deadline, I'm both affected by not knowing the date and relaxed about it.

Hibs will give me (and everyone else) a week's notice of when the deadline will be.

When you say getting the train down to Edinburgh, does that mean you’re based north of Edinburgh? Or are you nearer Newcastle and would be getting the train up to Edinburgh? Sorry if that sounds pedantic.

Agreed, that was what I was getting at earlier, I'm glad it's not just me!

There will be people who budget from month to month and who will be used to working out what date they need to get in and pay their season ticket by depending on when the Early Bird deadline is, but if they're only going to get short notice this season (some people are suggesting as little as a week) then they may struggle to do that.

I know there's the pay monthly options and people can start to save just now but my point is that there's always been a deadline given right at the outset and I don't see the need for changing that this season.

Even if the deadline's extended, nobody is going to be inconvenienced by that.

Can anyone help with a problem I am having.

Trying to renew 3 existing tickets and buy a new child ticket. In my online basket I have to reassign each ticket to someone in my network. The 1st 3 are no problem but my daughter doesn't have an existing client ref number or anything. I tried to create one with my email but it won't let me because my account is already registered with that email. She doesn't have her own email because she is 3. It also won't let me assign the ticket to me because I already have one assigned to me or my partner because she obviously doesn't qualify for a child ticket. I don't really know what else to try.

Tried phoning the TO but it just ring through every time.

Ticket Office can make that happen - creating a profile for your daughter (similar situation for myself and my 3 year old girl for next season).

If you drop [email protected] an email explaining that and the best time to call you back, they can sort you out ✅

I renewed mine and my brothers but also added my aunty on this season but she wasn't on the database or she had lost her details. I just set up a new Gmail email address for her and registered to the Hibs website using it - https://login.hibernianfc.co.uk/Auth/Register

Once you are logged in you can link it to the ticketing website and also get your daughters client ref number which you can then add to your network when you log back in to your own ticketing account. Once you do that you can then assign the child ticket to your daughter :flag:

We are already half way to last years total for season tickets and with the elections completed yesterday and covid figures and vaccination figures continuing in the right direction we should get more announcement on intentions to move forward. Crowds at English games and in the Euro's will hopefully push things on as well. Can see us at 50% capacity with no away supporters which would allow most of our season ticket holders entry to Easter Road. 60% would get them all in so fingers crossed.

I’m in the same situation. Was a bit worried it had fell through or something but logged into my ticketing account and it doesn’t come up under renewals. Could it be the first payment might not be taken til June/ July and they’ll send letters out nearer then?

I also renewed and did so in first few days choosing to pay by DD but not had any confirmation either.

I emailed the ticket office today (by just replying to my original email which confirmed my season ticket purchase) to let them know that I hadn't received my DD confirmation yet - they emailed me back four minutes later to confirm that everything was fine and in order.

Was very impressed :greengrin

Go to your account history mate, should see the transaction there of you buying the season ticket, and it should allow you to resend the email.

I think it is - pretty sure they published these dates somewhere in the comms.

Worth highlighting that the 6 months direct debit option ends on Saturday (or maybe Friday depending on how you read it) then changes to a 4 month option.

Surprised Hibs haven’t been pushing this as I thought it would be a popular option, and I never realised the cut off point was this weekend

Me neither, I only found out from one of my mates who phoned and told me.

I don't think Hibs have ever publicised the deadlines. Heard earlier from someone who thinks the early bird deadline is the 15th? No idea if that's true or not.

Doubt it’s the 15th as they said they would give 7 days notice when announcing the early bird deadline.

It is 15th May for the 6 month direct debit and sometime in June for the 4 month direct debit. At least 7 days notice for end of the Early Bird.

Not sure mate but if you renew now in the six month direct debit scheme, first payment not until 28 May.

Hibs have just sent an email advising cut off is 3pm on Friday, the site will be taken down then for a short time to replace the 6 month option with the 4 month option.

Renewed 3 out of our family of 4, just waiting for confirmation/approval as one of our family is now a student. Once that's confirmed I really hope we can all get back into ER early part of next season.
