interesting to see how the snooker goes down south this week. If nothing comes of that within a few weeks they won’t have a leg to stand on.
It's a foul if they don't keep at least one foot on the floor.😁

Interesting one.
Where I sit is at least 90% seasons.
If we went to 50% capacity, people would have to be sitting spaced out all over the shop.
One of the T&Cs the club leaked last week says something like you’re not guaranteed to sit in the seat you’ve bought.
Presumably in there as they know they’ll be spreading everyone out into all 4 stands.
Not sure how that works for gold STs that are reallocated a bronze seat though but I assume that they covered it in the T&Cs to ensure no partial refund.

I'll renew but really only out of fear of losing my seat that I've had for over 10 years.
If someone could guarantee that I wouldn't lose my seat I'd hold off until there was solid information about the return of fans.

I’ll renew, not in any doubt really. the club need the money and we have momentum to drive if we gain 3rd place. The squad needs refreshed and if we want to see the likes of Griffiths in a Hibs jersey again it needs funded.
I can afford it and the thought of establishing a regular 3rd spot above Aberdeen and Hearts is very appealing
I find it bizarre that several clubs (not us, as we have loads of st holders) haven't gone pop. The likes of Hamilton must rely massively on away supports, so how are they still going? Loans?
Government money, James Anderson money, Sky money, a bit of cup money, PPV money. Possibly loans as you've said, maybe directors have put in money.

If we’re not sitting at least 50% by autumn then serious questions need asked. Will be extremely interesting to see how the snooker goes down south this week. If nothing comes of that within a few weeks they won’t have a leg to stand on.
I thought the snooker was only about 25% capacity so not sure what your point is. And what happens if the virus kicks off again? Will you still be asking questions if we’re not at 50% capacity? Lets see how things pan out.

Hopefully any ballots will allow for family and groups who attend together to all go to the same games. We will be renewing but it’s been a much harder decision than usual.
It needs to be explained, hopefully in the communication tomorrow

The snooker's at full capacity for the final.
The numbers increase as they go through the rounds.

Full capacity for the final I’m sure I read. Yes I will, and so should everyone else. Would be bordering on 2 year since it kicked off, how much longer should we all be locked away?

If there’s a ballot and capacity is reduced, I think it would take a pretty sad individual to moan that they weren’t in their own category of seat. I think most folk are reasonable and would take whatever seat they’d get just to be back seeing a game. Or maybe I’ve misjudged that wildly.

There will be fans at Euros, there has been fans at Wembley albeit small amounts.
There is talk of concerts having fans back, so surely outdoor sports will get reasonable amounts. There needs to be road map/phased return, to let us know what's likely (SFL, Government and Clubs)

Perhaps. Although there have been questions about this season and the tiering differences so I’d imagine if in a 2nd season a gold seat doesn’t see any benefit to paying the extra they’d be well within their rights to ask what they’re paying more for.

People shouldn’t be paying more for the same experience though. The differential is due to where you’d be sitting. Similar to this year it was very poor to carry on with the tier system when everyone sat in their house to watch it.

Not going over old ground. If the vaccine doesn’t work we shouldn’t be getting it. If it does work then we should easily be back to normal once its rolled out. Every other major event is getting more and more fans back yet we’ve to be locked out of ER for even longer, including 100% capacity in an indoor sweaty setting such as the crucible.

Threads gone off on a tangent, but one other thing I wonder is - now that the deal has happened on PPV - will some people just say sod it and continue to watch on TV until such time as we can all get back in fully.

2,000 spectators in at level 0 announced as part of the routemap although this can be increased with the approval of the local council and Government.
I'd like to think 10,000 at somewhere like Easter Road would be achievable and if so that would likely cater for pretty much all of our season ticket holders.

Appreciated. Had only seen the original where it says opened with restricted numbers. Numbers are woeful going down the levels, doesn’t make any sense in comparison with the other easing of restrictions.

Unreal you can have 900 folk sitting shoulder to shoulder in a cramped theatre for the final of the snooker, but not sitting outside in a 50000 seater for the cup final.

:agree:
If hospitality can allow for temporary non social distanced bubbling (as previously, and hopefully will again) while distancing from other groups then the same could work at the football. It would allow groups of friends/family to attend together and would increase the potential capacity and allow more in.
It's up to the club to present a credible and safe plan now and then on the government to allow it.
Fingers crossed it works that way as I'm fed up watching Hibs on TV, got bored after a few games and now skip most of them. I'd imagine similar would happen if I were only attending balloted games by myself.

Yup, Hibs have me over a barrel on this one. I don’t mean that in a nippy way, I’m just desperate to get back into the stadium. Whether it’s good value or not isn’t really part of my decision process this season.
Really don’t mean that in a Billy big baws way either as I couldn’t be further from that just now 😂

See, I think hospitality has scored a bit of an own goal here. I think last summer, different households were meant to be 1m apart, thats certainly the guidance I had read, and what was happening at a couple of the places I went to.
Same rules again, and they have complained, implying that many just didn't follow the rules correctly last time.

Not to have a go at you (thanks for passing on that information) or indeed anyone from the club, but I do just find it astounding that clubs seem so willing to lie down and take all this even next season.
There should be absolutely no reason, none whatsoever, to not have full crowds in from the start of next season. Once Scotland has been fully vaccinated come July, as it will be, and cases will thus be near zero, whilst hospitalisations and deaths will be absolute zero, then there will be absolutely no case for not returning fully to pre-March 2020 life in every single aspect.
In my eyes, this includes going to the football and any other large events with no COVID restrictions in place. Why on earth, then, would we accept that away days are a thing of the past for next season? If someone had told you that 3 years ago you'd have looked at them like they had two heads. But somehow I am yet to see one club come out and fight against it, or even ponder the idea that we will be playing next season in front of full houses from the first matchday onwards. We just seem happy to take scraps, 50% capacity with us all having to wear masks like ****ing lemons would be 'good enough' for most boards, it's crazy.
I really do appreciate that there has been a pandemic going on, and I've understood why fans haven't been allowed in this season - even if I have missed going to the games sorely - but the overwhelming likelihood is that there will not be any coronavirus cases in this country come August, never mind folk dying from it.
I hope they're just underselling expectations, but even Sturgeon today was saying she expects 'much of normality' to return by July. Surely to **** that includes the ability to go on a train to Perth, Glasgow or Dundee and seeing Hibs play football again

Exactly! I'm not getting season tickets till I've got an idea of what next season will bring as clubs in general seem very coy about what we are actually buying.
The SRU put season tickets on sale for Games in Novemember and the Six Nations in 2022 and going by that they seem to think we will have full grounds by then.

Spot on. Time to get on with it

Every fresh step along the Road Map To Recovery is dependent on the ongoing trend/data/variants etc. I think you'll find that very few hard and fast decisions will be made in advance, just hopeful predictions which will firm up when justified. I reckon it's far too early to say no away fans next season as, hopefully, the vaccination roll out will be completed and successful to a degree which would allow unrestricted internal travel.
I'm hoping my previous leaning towards extreme caution for a good deal longer is blown out of the water and exposes me as a numpty but we're not quite there yet.

Exactly! I'm not getting season tickets till I've got an idea of what next season will bring as clubs in general seem very coy about what we are actually buying.
The SRU put season tickets on sale for Games in Novemember and the Six Nations in 2022 and going by that they seem to think we will have full grounds by then.
That’s because we will. Whilst I can understand Hibs being a bit cautious about being too optimistic about attendance at games, it’ll take a total disaster covid wise to come out of nowhere that would mean we aren’t at full capacity for most of next season.
There will be 25% of capacity at Hampden in May and likely to be at least 50% at Wembley in early July(I know England will have different rules). As long as nothing bad happens to the vaccine rollout there will be no good reason for us not to have at least 50% capacity for the start of the league campaign.
If we’re not playing at full capacity stadia with away fans every week well before Christmas then something will have gone badly wrong from the current position the country is in now

With every respect, we have to balance things up. If we were to open up full capacity immediately from next season and get it right then we may see three or four away games. If something goes wrong from something we haven't anticipated, we could end up prolonging restrictions, end up with deaths etc.
The best thing Hibs and other football clubs can do just now is jump through the hoops put in front of us - yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir and as soon as fans are back and there is evidence that crowds returning to football in either full capacity or near full capacity will work then we put pressure on.
It doesn't need to be for long, but if clubs were to push for full capacity from the get go next season and it went wrong, let alone from the point of view of peoples health and lives in terms of PR it would be absolutely terrible for all clubs involved. My job is within the hospitality sector and quite frankly I understand the overall caution.

That's fair mate, I do understand your point, and I also can see why it might be shrewd for clubs to take a more conciliatory approach towards the authorities.
My only fear is that we'll reach a situation in August where there is no absolutely logic whatsoever behind not having full crowds again in terms of Scotland's COVID figures (which like I say, should be virtually zero on the assumption the vaccine rollout continues as it has been), but because of the above approach being taken, we will have to barter with the authorities for so long just to get a gradually higher percentage of fans back in each week.
I just think that clubs should come out and say they expect a full return to pre-March 2020 stadiums as soon as it is viable/there is the same amount of risk involved in staging a capacity event at a football ground as there was prior to the pandemic.
In my view, the League Cup group stages would be the perfect time to 'trial' any return to fans in Scottish stadiums (granted we are not playing in them due to European involvement). But it should end after that providing the country's cases/hospitalisations/deaths are as low as we expect them to be, and football stadia - just like every other aspect of life - must return to normality.
I think my upset stems from the fact that no one, on any board, seems willing to put their head above the parapet and speak out about this. I just worry when you see statements such as 'no away fans next season' from those in the know at the club. I get that it's uncertain times and no one can know for certain but clubs getting the ball rolling on having these sorts of conversations in a public setting would surely go a long way to clarifying things.

Yeah, I like an away game - I live up in Tayside so any time Hibs are at Tannadice or McDiarmid Park it's an easy game to go to. Given that flu figures in the winter are expected to be higher than normal it may be prudent to use away ends to create a bit more space between home fans for one season, and when we get into 2022 then I'd imagine we may see away fans safely return too.
Truth be told, I think it's far more complex than any of us really know of, where Hibs will be thinking of peoples safety in and around Easter Road, the authorities need to extend their thought process to local bars, public transport and more. Pressure will be majorly on to get as many fans back as soon as possible when the new season starts from fans alone and that will take care of that, I think that the best Hibs can do is to get as many fans back in as soon as possible, ensure that all protocols and procedures are followed as to prove that we can be trusted to ensure fans safety and go from there.
On a personal level, just desperate to get back in and see Hibs in the flesh again.

So am I right in thinking the Direct Debit to Hibs is interest free ie £420 / 6 so 6 payments of £70 per month as opposed to the 11 instalment finance option you’ll pay interest on? Think I’ll go for the direct debit and get it paid off in about half the time
That’s the way i’ve viewed it and it definitely seems the better option.

Don’t disagree with anything you have said. Many people can’t see anything other than black or white when the reality is different shades of grey or risk.
My only point is when you say you are surprised the clubs are not demanding more from decision makers, I think they have been lobbying very hard but the reality is it’s not been seen as a priority (which I think is fair) but once the euros are done we should expect / demand significant movement.
I would expect going into start of the season ER to be able to support a minimum 5k but hopefully at least 8k some of whom will be away fans I think. Even if small numbers.

Renewed using the DD option. Appears to be the exact setup that the SRU were using this morning. Very very easy, rather than all the credit checks with Zebra or V12.
Glad Hibs have made this option available although I appreciate for some that spreading over 6 months isn't as handy as spreading over 11.
I think the club have made an effort to do the best they can with this, money off at pie stands, kit launches, training sessions all much appreciated.

I'm King Arthur, and I endorse this message.

No - I’d be about £180pm on the 6 months.
Good option for those with only 1 ticket though or even 1 plus a kid.
That is a lot of cash right enough.
£6 a day for 6 months.

Not yet - they’ll give 1 weeks notice when they decide.
£34 interest per adult ticket. Kind of blows the tenner that was suggested out of the water. And it’s all due on the 1st payment as well so not even £3pm as others said it would be.
Think the £10 figure was someone who suggested the club had told them that was how much on average it cost them to cover the interest. I'd only repeated it later as an example.
Looks like £34 arrangement and then £34 interest as well? An expensive way to do if it can be at all avoided. Card and then transfer to a 0% for example.
The thing with the interest charge is that it is something Hibs will have to review each year. Rates change, appetite from lenders change etc. If this is the rate then I can see why Hibs have decided not to pay it and instead tried to offer direct debit options. If they had just covered it again more people would have used it again. This way they are encouraging more to the direct debit, albeit not all will be comfortable with the higher monthly payment over a shorter time.

That does seem expensive if it's £34 arrangement and another £34 in interest. Someone said you had to pay the interest up front so maybe it is just one of those that needs paid and it's being double counted?
If it's not then at least the £34 arrangement should be per grouping and not per individual ST. Expensive regardless especially to smooth it over 10 months instead of a, free, option to smooth over 6.

It’s “only” charged once but it’s all due on the first payment so assuming I’d be £100 of interest my first payment would be £190 followed by 9 payments of £90.

It's maybe just me, and I apologise if it's been covered elsewhere, but I'm not seeing anything on the website about time limits for renewing by, arrangements for changing seats, e.g. to sit with others, at a later date and so on.
Are all non ST seats up for grabs now? - presumably non-renewed ST seats have to be released at some point. I realise these are not normal times but usually there's a lot more information about the process.
Anyone out amongst you seeing what I'm clearly missing?

I think it’s TBC. Early bird is available until they say so (with 1 weeks notice) as well.
If you want to move seats there’s a note in there - says to let them know approx where you want to sit.

I want to move seats potentially, I wonder what the date for this will be, they usually tell us?
Seat Release Deadline: This date will be announced to supporters in due course. As above we will give one weeks notice of the deadline.
If you are an existing season ticket holder and would like to try and relocate your seat in the same price category i.e. gold, silver or bronze as your existing seat then please purchase your existing seat as normal and get in touch with the Ticket Office prior to the seat release deadline via
[email protected] advising the team of your client reference and if it is possible, where you would like to relocate to.
If you wish to move to a different price category i.e. from bronze to silver, from your current seat then please contact the ticket office on
[email protected] in advance of your purchase and we can see what seats are available and then we can then change your offer before you purchase. This is essential if you intend to use the V12 finance option.
When seats are released, we will freeze the seats for a period of time and allow any possible existing season ticket holder relocations to take place.
There are no guarantees we will be able to relocate you to where you would like to sit, but we will do our very best to accommodate as many requests as we can before season tickets go on general sale.

I doubt it - it’ll be calculated as a % of the spend.
£34 is on a £420 “loan” so £160 will be less than half - probably about £13 each (rough calcs).

I would think behind the scenes clubs will be pushing ,but they at this stage they have agreed not to do so publicly
Remember Leanne was on the committee set up to work with the Goverment on proposals to get fans back
I am assuming given Jason Leitch keeps mentioning he speaks to clubs something is still going that keeps lines of communication open
All the uttering s come from Goverment now seems to indicate they have no intention of having another major lockdown so it has to now be about how we learn to live with the virus and safely mitigate so deaths remain low But more people have probably been dying in the last month or so as a result of lockdown measures not Covid There is a balance that needs to be struck

I did something similar and clicked the Direct Debit by mistake as my bank card is a Visa debit card and I just went in too quick. I sent an email by selecting return on the confirmation of purchase email and I got an automatic reply that they would be in touch asap. From what I read on here they are usually pretty prompt in getting back. (

Cheers I have emailed them. The comms have been shocking imo on this years ST. The options for finance should have been made clear stressing what options were interest free and how you access those options

Sorry but disagree, the options were pretty straight forward and you get plenty chance to have a look at the different options before selecting what one you want

I see that Hibs are offering some interest free payment options as well.
That's excellent news, always best to wait for the official announcement rather than using rumours to bash the club.
(And I know it's only over 6 months, but it's still interest free).

Hopefully everyone but I think the club could have done some work explaining how restricted attendances would be dealt with. Is it a draw, would you drop out the next draw if you were successful in the first, how would it work for family groups etc. I suspect they haven't as it would just make it more obvious that we are, for the third season running, paying for a season ticket that will not grant physical access to all the League games at ER. Makes no odds to me as I was always going to renew but the fans have really stood up and done their bit and the club need to make sure it lets fans know, as much as they can, what you are actually buying.

I must have missed the comms then. When were the instalment plan options explained. The no interest 6 month option definitely isn't during the process or the email I got telling me they were on sale today. Was there another email, I may have missed it as they often go straight to junk.
Here is what it says under direct debit option
By selecting Direct Debit, you authorise BPS re Hibernian Football Club to automatically debit your Bank/Building Society annually with the then current charge. By completing this instruction you are confirming that you are the Account Holder of the specified UK Bank/Building Society Account and that you are the only person required to authorise debits from this account. Otherwise, please call 0844 844 1875 or email
[email protected] to request a paper application form and Direct Debit Instruction. Please validate your Direct Debit details to produce your Instruction to your Bank or Building Society. You must confirm that these details are correct before proceeding with your transaction.

I doubt it - it’ll be calculated as a % of the spend.
£34 is on a £420 “loan” so £160 will be less than half - probably about £13 each (rough calcs).
It's not a percentage, it's an arrangement fee of £34.23, which is paid in your first month and not spread over the 10 instalments. Not clear from the website if that is per season ticket or per 10 monthly payments, ( ie 2,3 4 tickets on the one monthly payment .
Unless i'm missing something.

It doesn't tell you the options during renewal for the 6 months. I presume that is direct debit. No figures are explained regarding term etc when you click on that option, you need that knowledge prior to applying. The only info actually suggests it may be a one off payment. I have now seen that there is details on the club website. It is set up like a website within a website with tabs for the various info. No links to the options for finance in the email or on the blurb on the site hence I missed it. Once you find the info it is well laid out but I didn't know about the interest free option and went straight from the email to renew my tickets.
Anyhows, I'm sure the ticket office will sort it out. They are usually excellent in dealing with the issues the club comms create

It’s interest which is calculated as a percentage of the “loan”. They’re calling the interest an arrangement fee and seem to be charging it all at once on top of the first payment. (As per the example they listed)
Although someone else is saying it’s been spread evenly over the 10 months on theirs - so who knows.

We may have to agree to disagree but as far as I am concerned the options should have been very clear and not needed me to navigate away from the email they sent to the main site, find the picture with the link to season tickets, click the link, read the blurb and notice the find more info link, click that link, click another link to season tickets for some reason, read another similar blurb and then luckily notice the tabs where the options and how to access them are actually quite well explained. All that could easily have been avoided by this
We have a number of finance options available for fans (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/tickets-hospitality/season-tickets/finance-options)

I looked at Direct debit and the blurb never said anything about 6 monthly payments. You would have needed to know that before choosing and as I went straight from renewal email using the buy now link I was unaware there was even a interest free option. I only found that out reading this thread later.
I'll leave it there as most look like they have navigate their way to their chosen option and had awareness of everything they were signing up for. I'll wait for the ticket office to get back to me and I am sure they will sort it out.

V12 did NOT charge an Admin Fee last year (2020). They also didn’t charge any interest.
If you look at the Representative Example for the V12 payments, it clearly says Annual Rate of Interest is 0%. As others have said, I’m oretty sure the £34 Admin Fee will be a one off payment on the amount borrowed, whether you but 1 ticket or 6 tickets. They might vary the Admin Fee or charge it per ticket but best way for anyone to confirm for definite how it works, would be to call the Ticket Office Advisors on the phone numbers given.
The fact there is a figure quoted of 20.38% interest is purely a legal requirement to show an APR (Annual Percentage Rate) to show how much the total amount payable, including the Admin Fee, is costing you.
However, I’ve been retired from banking for 5 years now and the way this works MIGHT have changed although I’m not aware of any such change.
The only “true” Zero% interest offering is the 6 month or 4 month option being offered by the club.
Plus of course if you pay the full amount up front in cash!! (That goes with out saying:greengrin)
