Of course they will. Like it or not they're actually well run these days. Folk will go on about their £5 mil loans but they budget for that and why wouldn't you if the loans keep coming.

If they're that well-run, why have their Net Current Liabilities almost quadrupled, and their Net Assets reduced by almost 20%?
And why the need to borrow from a director to pay off Budge's loan?

Presumably that loan is just Budge again, a nice long 10 year term means they won’t be shot of her anytime soon.

That doesn’t strike me as well run at all.
Especially when a cursory glance at the league table would suggest that the European income which has been so welcome for the past 2 seasons may be under a bit of jeopardy. That would leave an even bigger hole to plug.
Obviously, as long as they’ve got folk prepared to plug the shortfall then they’ll be fine. Also, I’ve got 2 off field events at Tynecastle over the next month and a bit that I’m due to go to. Their facilities are decent and do appear to be well used, which should be a reasonable revenue source for them.
Definitely a few alarm bells in there though.
Hate to think what sort of state ours are going to be in, so any mirth at this should probably be short lived.

That’s now £50m+ of reported donations ploughed through by this incarnation of Hearts. Still no trophies to show for it. They’ve only won 3 trophies in my lifetime (v Hibs x 4) and all 3 of them were paid for with stolen Lithuanian pension money (1998 not being paid for until Mad Vlad came in with his pilfered cash).
£4m of loans received after the year end from a Director – is this Anderson lending them money now instead of donating? Interesting.
Not that our own club’s financial statements are going to make pleasant reading, but it’s still worth talking about what’s happening with our city rivals.

All that extra money we keep hearing about, won nothing and still celebrating almost nearly finishing an over budget single tier main stand and a hotel with no windows.

Take the £8 million from group stages off them and put it on our balance and that reverses. It's not sustainable though ad they will have it this year, Aberdeen or Huns next and then Scotland is back to going through playoffs. They waisted that extra income. It's a disgrace we never took advantage of the opportunity 3rd brings

Yes, I'm not even sure if their turnover figures include donations from FOH and Anderson?
They made a loss last year "This continued investment, with a marginal drop in revenue, has meant that for the first time in many years, we are reporting a loss of £1.2m".

It's almost entirely from European football, which looks like it will be in short supply.
Running a club almost entirely on the basis of qualifying and being successful in European football seems a bit misguided, no?

£16.2m of that has come from the fans group the Foundation of Hearts, while £29.5m has been handed over from generous benefactors - including board member James Anderson"

McKinlay confirmed that talks continue with Tony Bloom about investment and reiterated his belief that the recent tie up with the Brighton owner's Jamestown Analytics will be "game changing".
He described the partnership as a "genuine opportunity to compete with the teams above us in Scotland".
McKinlay added: "I was criticised for showing a lack of ambition when I came in for saying I wanted to get back to being the third best team in Scotland.
"The reason for saying that is, with the financial disparity, it's almost impossible. Same way as Celtic have in the Champions League, we all have our level and it tends to follow financials.
"Genuinely, and I know it's not going to happen overnight, but using [Jamestown Analytics'] technology and our finances wisely, I think we can challenge in Scotland."
Asked if that meant he thinks Hearts could one day mount a serious tilt at the title, he said. "I do. I am not going to put a timescale on it.
"Jamestown have put their money where their mouth is in the way they construct their contracts. They are highly incentivised for us to do well and they are very excited about what we can achieve."
That is a very interesting quote from CEO - I had been given impression that this tie up was a big freebie? (because they wanted to be associated with such a mega club :greengrin). It appears from that they are paying commercially and pay more if they achieve 'success'

Guess the vague arrangement with Brighton's owners data analysis is the latest distraction from how poor the value has been for the cash that's passed through their hands.

I bet none of them asked where it has all gone. What did the stand cost, about £21m/£22m? And they'd have spent a fair bit on the hotel but that still leaves many millions to account for. Don't know of any other major projects so it seems like a heck of a lot effectively going into the team so imagine how bad they'd be without the donations.
Has anyone any idea where it all goes? Or know any of the joint owners that'll be able to explain?

Popped onto Sickbag for a look at their comments about the AGM.
Now if that had been the Hibs AGM the flaming torches and pitchforks would have been out in force. But not at Tyny where the delusionists which dominate their support seem blind to the fact that 5 months into the season they’re sleepwalking into relegation. All very civilised comforted by the fact that Tony Bloom is going to be their saviour and lead them to untold riches. McKinlay did hint that Bloom would not necessarily be providing straightforward cash donations. There’s a surprise. Self made billionaire doesn’t throw money away.
We are aware that our management of finances in relation to performance is poor, their waste given the £47M of donations of the last few years, allied to £25M turnover is truly abysmal but very little criticism made by the Sickbag financial gurus and the few who did raise concern we’re shot down in flames.
Some of them think that the bigger the turnover means the bigger the profit. Not so, just ask Sevco.
Added thought - about 10 years ago did they not adopt Greg Wallace as a celebrity supporter.

Every single thing they do is either the bigliest or bestest and most innovative in the world of football.
Single tiered restricted view main stand with the bestest every dugouts in world football. Funny though how they have never ever came out and told us the new capacity since this £25 million quid was completed (well maybe they are holding off until it’s finished)
First every football club in the history of football to have a bespoke Hotel with no windows which will make them a million every season. Funny again how they’ve never mentioned how successful it has been (or maybe not) as one look at the availability pretty much throughout the year tells you I don’t think it’ll be making as much as they think.
Budge and co are brilliant at one thing and that’s the deflect when things get tough. They don’t see it and think all is Barry because they now have £10 million investment from Bloom (no wait) and the bestest every data analysis to ever be seen in football.

Those numbers might be understated, FoH have put in £18m, although I suppose £2m of that was paid to Budge for the shares. As for the Anderson amounts it was £29.5m up to year end June 2024 but since then he’s put in an additional £2.0m, and given a £4m new loan. He also put in around £3m for shirt sponsorship.
Not sure what that all adds up to. Plenty.

Preston ‘Biscuits’ and McLaughlin almost peeing themselves live on air when ‘shanks’ gets not one goal by two goals taking his total to three.
The panel now have Hearts safe from any trouble and debated for the majority of the post full time show how much Hearts would need to stretch to give this maverick an extended deal. Remember this being the same player Hearts fans were verbally abusing when he missed a penalty in Belgium.
Meanwhile in the real world Hearts will be bottom of the league in Saturday if we take a minimum point at home to Ross County and more so we are likely to be 8th if we win.

More likely that we will miss the chance of moving to 8th.

For “Donations” read “VAT-free donations” as I understand it - quickest and most efficient route to getting cash into the club.
More likely that we will miss the chance of moving to 8th.
Huge game for us, big crowd and a lot of us more optimistic. So let’s hope you are wrong then.

He also said 'we started brightly then the sending off changed the game.......'
The sending off was in your favour you absolute plum. The only time anyone ever peddles the 'it's harder to play against 10 men' nonsense is when they don't capitalise on it. Managers habitually bemoan referees not sending off opposition players or complain about having their own players sent off. If having 10 men or playing against 11 was really easier then they wouldn't do that, they'd welcome the referee's error if anything. Denying that having a man advantage isn't hugely beneficial is just a lie. If you can't exploit that advantage then that's on you but it's in no way, shape or form any kind of handicap.

I listened to his press conference post match and as ever he spoke very well. He also speaks well on VAR pointing out how Hearts had not received bookings for offenses his players had been booked for all year ultimately leading to reds. Also called out Hatate's challenge that wasn't red. He may be absolutely right about the inconsistency between referees but in my view it is far more the inconsistencies in the way referees treat different teams. Hibs players get book for anything that even resembles a booking. In the same game we watch The Rangers/ Celtc, Aberdeen and Hearts players get away with similar offences time after time

It would be a mistake to find too many similarities between Critchley and Cathro. That kind of mindset might take root over at the other place and Critchley might be hounded out just as Cathro was. And we wouldn't want that.

Played: 9

It's an improvement over Naismith but hardly the new manager bounce they were looking for - especially for a team that everyone, including most of this forum, had as nailed-on for third.

Huge game for them this evening, if it goes tits up it could really be an implosion of their season and see them on the path to relegation.
It is apparently worth €1 million to them if they progress this evening, the first time a non-OF club have progressed in European group football.
They have 3 home games out of 4 in the league after this so unfortunately a lift this evening could see them in a bit of form before we go there. As dire as they have been the new manager has been able to pick up results at home.
Pivotal game in their season imo and one which could have a huge influence going into the upcoming derby.

Hearts 2-1 up at home to the Moldovan minnows, the worst of the 36 teams, who have nothing to play for, with less than 10 minutes to go and fail to see out the game. Meanwhile TSC are coming back from 3-1 down with 3 late goals in 7 minutes to pull level with Hearts on points and goal difference but with more goals scored. Oh dear, I hope the kickback prickpack are holding up okay.

Btw, in 23rd position (before the Bačka Topola comeback) Hearts would have been facing Jagiellonia Białystok or Shamrock Rovers in the knockout round draw tomorrow.
Last 16 would have been Legia Warsaw or Cercle Brugge.
Just beat the team 3rd in the Moldovan league, at home, to set up those knockout ties in February

I noticed that too. On the one between the Roseburn and the new stand, there is also a scaffolding pole build out for a camera-man platform.
It looks quite shabby.
Which is a surprise, given the amount of money flushing through that club at the moment.
Critchley will be given as long as possible because they won't want to admit Bloom's data has fallen at the first hurdle. They will be under considerable pressure to do some good business in January.

Very true but perhaps that is exactly the problem - we always go into derbies fearing the worst even when they are absolutely pish. Other teams don’t have that mind set against them. Not saying we’re a great team ourselves but there’s absolutely nothing to fear against hearts. Our biggest hinderance is ourselves and this mentality we always seem to have against them. Even in the past when we’ve had far better teams than them they’ve often got the better of us because we just seem to have this psychological problem in derbies.
I’m not suggesting we go in cocky and expect to hump them 6-0 or anything but ffs let’s stop this guard we have against them. They go into derbies confident and expecting to beat us. Now call it arrogance or delusion but whatever it is it seems to work.
**** them, they’re an absolute shambles. Let’s get right in about them!

My mood surrounding the Derby is night and day from what it was even 1 week ago. Between their continued decline midweek to fist to qualify from the easiest European group ever to have existed, and our great performance today, I’m absolutely buzzing for it now. No reason at all we can’t win this convincingly.
The fear now sits with them and the pressure is off slightly for Gray. Fail to win tomorrow and Critchley will be shutting it for the derby.

you're absolutely right and I think it's this mentality that Gray will be drumming into the team too - play our game, play it with confidence and ask questions of them. we just don't do sitting back very well so totally expect us to attack. hopefully our injury situation is ok but we also have an extra days rest than them too

Since the Bloom deal with Hearts was announced Brighton have been working their way down the table.
Upon connecting Hearts to their network a virus has spread, corrupting the opponents' weaknesses and how to exploit it analysis data meaning Brighton have been setting their team up to beat the likes of Kilmarnock, Petrocub and St Johnstone this last week or so.
