Tait is easily good enough for the first team, can't say I'm surprised though as he's played over 60 senior games at championship level.
The boy must be peeved playing development football when he's clearly above that level. Hopefully he gets a chance.

LJ was there tonight, just behind us in the stand , the bairn heard him say Tait is technically great.
It’s a long time since i’ve seen a midfielder fire so many great long passes, if tonight’s game doesn’t get him near the starting line up, i don’t know what will.

I’ve seen Hearts B team and Hibs Dev squad play the last couple of weeks and the Hibs side is absolutely miles ahead in quality imo. I genuinely think we will have 3/4 come through and make a difference over the next couple of years if not sooner. I didn’t get that from the hearts side.

Not making it a Hibs Hearts thing btw just making the comparison having seen them both first hand.

Aye he said on Thursday night that technically there’s nothing to worry about it’s off the ball that is holding him back. I know the opposition is a different level but he seems to be adding a lot more to his game in terms of defensive actions.

Not sure he is fit enough yet for a first team start which is no surprise considering he was out for months and I think missed a chunk of pre season.

The ability is definitely there though and I wouldn't be surprised if we loan him out until January to get him right up to speed.

From what I’ve seen he fair gets up and down the wing. Hibs must have high hopes for him if he’s featuring for the Dev team already.
Does have a good engine on him, think the 5 of the lads who just signed full time have all featured in development squad, certainly bodes well for the future.

All the lads that came on in the second half, were good as well, they even added more enthusiasm, the under 18 squad is tremendous to watch and has talent in all positions, too many potentially good players to single out.

Ron’s five-year plan has been impacted by Covid but off the park, there is little doubt that there’s been significant investment and as a marketing business, the club is making strides. He’s clearly seen the opportunities to drive up revenue.

On the football side, there’s a new 3-tier pyramid in place to transition players into the first team. In pre-season, our three squads (First team, Development and U18’s) have only lost one game out of 13 over 90 minutes with a goals for against of 41-9. I’m not convinced we would have seen such a glut of goals playing Jack Ross football.

Most Hibs supporters acknowledge that with the significant changes to the coaching team and a deliberate signing policy focused on international rather than home-grown players, it will take us until 2023 to start to see the benefits of this three squad approach.

So we need to hold our nerve in the stands and support what is tantamount to a new Hibs team.

I wasn't aware Tait was injured but Delferriere definitely hurt his groin and could barely walk.
Pitch was very hard so no real surprise if there are a few aches and pains after that.
Hard shift for the young team but they stuck at it and didn't get beaten over 90 minutes which is a big positive.
Was impressed by how calmly Laidlaw took the goal showing great feet.
Also like the look of Jacob McIntyre who is a good size for only being 16.
Mcclelland is the pick of the young centre halfs and I reckon he is going to be a bit special in time.
Hanlon probably not quite ready yet but definitely getting close.

The pitch really was brutal. It had the aftermath of diagonal trenches that must have been dug up over the summer every 5-10m. You simply couldn’t hit a straight pass over any distance. It meant they tried to float most passes in the air to an extent and it was so hard it was bouncing up to waist and chest height.

Young Hibees Josh Landers and Rory Whittaker have been called up to Scotland’s Under-16s!

The pair were named for Stuart Glennie’s squad for their upcoming friendlies against Denmark next month.

Josh and Rory will travel to Spain for a week-long camp which includes two friendlies against the Danes, on Wednesday 7 September and Saturday 10 September.

Both matches, which take place at the Pinatar Arena, will serve as preparation for the Victory Shield, which starts in October.

Josh – a striker - has been a regular for the U18s this season, and set up Reuben McAllister in their last outing, whilst Josh is a right-back.

The wee Hibees will find out who they will face in the UEFA Youth League draw which takes place on Wednesday 31 August at 12 noon. We took a closer look at the competition and its format!

Which Hibees Are Eligible?

The UEFA Youth League is an Under-19 competition. That means anyone born in the year 2004 or later will be eligible for selection.

So, the likes of Jacob Blaney, Josh McCulloch, Oscar MacIntyre, Murray Aiken, Robbie Hamilton, Josh O’Connor, Malik Zaid, Kanayo Megwa and Murray Johnson who were all part of Gareth Evans' U18 league-winning side last year and have since graduated from U18 football - will be eligible for selection.

Think I read somewhere there are 2 rounds of qualifiers before groups when presumably clubs from Italy , Germany etc come in . Would be great to make group stage . With last year`s squad now in different league (s) will be extra hard but suppose other clubs will have similar problem .

Nice 👍 hopefully an Irish team.

Wonder what's going to happen with Johnson if he will be back at Hibs then.

Also nice for some of the older lads to get some games.

Just had another look at the European thing - sad that winning the league for hibs gets less recognition than Celtic who finished bottom of the 18's league, they go into group stages and probably 6 games, but hibs is straight knock out

Is that because the Spfl champions get to put a team in also which mirror what their big team do.

Taking squad to Norway ( Steve Kean talks of spending a few days there before match ) won`t be cheap and if we get through , a possible match in Armenia also expensive . Not sure if HSL ( or new name ) cash could be used for this . Not sure if Hibernians thing to support youth teams still exists . Or voluntary charge for home match ?

Hibernians scheme went years ago. I remember phoning up the office to get tickets once and was told I was well known as had been paying into it for so long.

Used to be good for priority tickets for me as lived down south.

i believe the money earned in under 18 league is substantial.
I was always surprised how much glasgow city earned in the womens champions league, it kept them going for years.
The expenses might be paid by UEFA to all competing sides as well.

Can't imagine Armenian team would beat Nantes. Not sure if the draw was seeded but looks a tougher draw than we might have got. Assume it is home and away. Good experience
