Aye they were not very compilentary to him in the replies.

I wasn't aware Liam Scales had ever escaped from Ryan Porteous's back pocket.
Seen this guy mentioned on a championship club forum …

I think whatever happens this window, taking numbers we might need for group euro stages in to account, it has been shown how much more can be coached into a side by reducing a huge squad down to 2 eleven's. Malky Mackay deserves huge credit for keeping the right players and trimming us down very quickly. Good football man, glad to have him at the club. And long may that be the case.
Sorry .. not us seen someone mentioned him on the Preston forum.
Not transfer news but seen this on another form too …

Would say we have to make new signings but our top targets should be Rocky and Miller. Got to be keeping Boyle aswell and with the year option is a no brainer. I'd also like to see Levitt extend now he's showing the quality he has.
We will lose Youan, Gayle, Myko and possibly Hoilett from those contributing. Kwon, Bursik, Vente, Tavares, Kenneh - there'll be plenty movement in the summer.
McGrath and Manneh in the door already.
He was injured at the start and then again toward the end of the season last year for Dundee that's why he dropped out after the split.
Still played a decent amount of games in a midfield alongside Cameron, McCowan and Sylla last season. Was a hernia injury that kept him out if I remember correctly.
Smith
Cadden Miller
Iredale Rocky ohora marv
Cadden Obita
Triantis Mcgrath newell NMW levitt campbell mnneh
Boyle bowie gayle hoilett rudi
If we can keep that squad together, sell tavares/youan/vente to fund triantis deal, then we only really need a GK, CM and a striker. For once we might actually be well prepared for european playoffs rather than having to stick someones mate in goals like we have previous.
The development fee set by Tribunal for Connor Barron was £640k + £250k in potential add-ons and a sell on clause.
Mulligan is the same age as Barron, has played more senior games, has more international caps. He has been developed by Dundee longer than Barron spent at Aberdeen.
I imagine he’ll move South as any fee to move domestically will prove to prohibitive and nobody will want to risk a tribunal.
Does it make a difference what European grading the selling club are? (Not sure grading is the right word but hopefully you know what I mean). Sure it’s linked to facilities, number of coaches etc…..
If so, are Aberdeen and Dundee at the same level? If not, I think they would be due less than Aberdeen were for Barron?
It does for the FIFA calculation. The SFA don’t publish their methodology so we can only guess but i imagine it will take that into account too.
Dundee’s academy is the level below Aberdeen which is why I don’t think they’ll get as much as Barron went for (£640-890k), and closer to £500k is more likely.
Yep. It needs to be remembered this group could still end up finishing 5th. And even a chance we might not be in european competition if Hearts or Aberdeen shock everyone and win the cup. Despite the amazing run and the fun we’ve all had, we’ve achieved nowt at this point.
Like others I'd like to see extensions for Boyle, Miller, Rocky and Hoilett. Plus use the £3million we get for Vente to buy Triantis :greengrin
So we would still need:
New 2nd goalie
Replacement for Dwight Gayle
Replacement for Myko
We need at least two GOOD players for event position
Goalies - Smith + Alex Paulsen ? (or another)
Right centre back - Miller + Marvin
Centre Back - Rocky + O'Hora
Left Centre Back - Iredale + Obita
Right wing back - C Cadden + Megwa ?
Left Wing Back - N. Cadden + ? (Obita can cover but not if Iredale is also injured)
Midfield - Triantis/Newell, McGrath/Campbell, Manneh/Levitt, Rudi/NMW
Forwards - Bowie/ ? Boyle/ ? Hoilett/?
I'm assuming the following will be away or retired:
Vente, Youan, Kwon, Bursik, Tavares, Delfierre, Kenneh, Gayle
It's up front that we have the most to get sorted... right now it's basically Bowie and no one else... so we need to get Boyle and Hoilett sorted or we are looking for up to four new forwards!! since as it stands we would be losing Boyle, Hoilett, Myko and Gayle
Your right, but it was still a relevant reminder by HV
Harry was just too lightweight for our league, as well as being severly hampered by illness and bad dress sense. It's not a surprise that we have done much better since we introduced a load of big units to the line up ! Having said that if you are class, you don't need to be a big unit, just look at Dwight Gayle
A proper can of worms this, if the 2 teams are in the same league would it be reasonable to assume that the clubs spend roughly the same to develop a player. The difference being the clubs with bigger budget can try to develop more players. Ultimately the ability of the player and hence the market value of the player should be the main consideration in setting a development fee. In your scenario, if you were a Motherwell fan. Would you not be a bit upset, if you got a lower level of development fee for Lennon Miller than Aberdeen got for Barron, because of the size of the club or some form of grading.
It’s always been the case that certain clubs will achieve more for selling a player than other clubs will. We would get more for selling a player than say Ross County would, the scenario you are talking about just sort of formalises it.
It’s not a pie in the sky figure made up out of nowhere, the figure is a reflection on how much that club spends on youth development. If Celtic spend say 10x more than Hibs to produce young players, I understand why when it comes to a tribunal, that would be taken into account. The organisations involved are trying to make sure it’s worthwhile for clubs to spend money on their youth infrastructure.
🚨 Nectarios Triantis' agent (Jem Karacan) speaking to @JamesDodd89 on rowzfc regarding reports of other clubs in Europe being interested in Triantis:
- 'Playing for the Socceroos is Triantis' dream
- With the season he's had (at Hibs), there is going to be a lot of interest.
- We have to weigh a lot of things up. He is contracted to Sunderland who are a huge club - will they get promoted?
- There's so many things we are still waiting on and those discussions have started to happen.
- The key will be what does Nectar want.
- Ultimately, with the world cup - that changes things - he has to play next year.
- We cannot afford for Nectar to go to a club and be 'bit-part'
- His experience this season of being one of the main-men - he needs to repeat that.
- He needs to make sure that if he gets to a club or returns to Sunderland there is going to be opportunities to play.
- Ultimately, that is our main focus - making sure that he goes to a team where he is going to be an important part of it.
- It will always come down to the player's performance, and we (agency) are trying to put him in the best environment where he can flourish.'
Daily Record
Houston Dynamo are closing in on a deal to sign St Mirren’s top scorer Toyosi Olusanya.
I thought he was a terrific player when he was with them. I rarely notice players playing against us but I thought he always stood out. There were some ridiculous running stats published about him at the time too I’m sure.
I doubt it’ll be him so this is a really pointless reply to you, would be good if it was though.
What I would love to see is Bournemouth buying Triantis from Sunderland and loaning him to us for the season.
He then gets European experience and develops in his best position.
At only 21 he definitely has time to develop into a Premiership player.
Will Bournemouth take a punt?

If his agent is being honest about his client’s priorities then we could be in with a very decent shout of getting him back here next season.
It’s easy to downplay our offering, but right now and next season we may well be the closest to exactly what he is looking for.
We’ve recently tried to buy two players for just over £1m. I don’t know how much it’d cost us to buy him ourselves but it’s not impossible it could be around that mark.
I’d like us to see if we can buy him ourselves before needing the black knights to do it for us. Obviously depending on the cost that may not be an option. Anything from £1m to £1.5m with a decent sell on % would be possible for us I’d have thought if we make the group stages of European football.
It doesn’t contravene FFP/PSR, but Bournemouth paying a fee for Triantis would contribute to their spending under FFP/PSR. The amount Bournemouth have available to spend under FFP/PSR currently is very tight, they aren’t going to be buying players for other teams.
Triantis with European football on his CV definitely adds value to his transfer value also.
Reckon it’s 50/50 if he returns - ideally with us in Europe !
Triantis has been a integral part of the streak. I think it's unlikely he is going to be with us next season. As much as he would be a loss, I think we would learn to live without him. There are plenty of players I am sure we will be in the market for. Triantis despite a slow start, has made us forget about Marcondes.
We are anticipating losing a few key players through contract expiry and transfer fees, but it's not the end of the world. It enables existing players and youth to step up. The fact we are on course to finish strongly makes me enthusiastic about our recruitment this summer coming.
I'm not suggesting that they buy him for Hibs. More that they see him as having the potential to play for Bournemouth in the future and therefore make an investment akin to the one they made with Alex Paulsen.
Paulsen signed for*a reported initial fee of £850,000, rising up to £2 million*on a 4 year contract.
Would that sort of deal interest Sunderland?
Do Hibs have the buying power to put together something like this?
Would we be able to match Triantis' wage demands?
I sincerely hope that he is a Hibs player next season. Really rate the guy. Gives me Scott McTominay and Declan Rice vibes with the way he runs very upright scanning the field.

I can’t see Bournemouth doing anything like that. They may have infinitely better resources than us but their squad size is nowhere near the size of the big players in their league. By Premiership standards they are a fairly lean operation, buying players and instantly putting them out on loan will be more of a rarity than the norm for them.
Wasn't brushing anyone with the Harry McKirdy brush, I just meant we have been stung before from that league.
Of course good players can come from anywhere.
Re your point though, Watkins and Toney were kids at 20 and 18 respectively when they played in that league. McKirdy was in his prime at 24/25.
That lad from Salford surely won’t be coming here.
Salford will likely be paying him a decent amount and championship teams will be well aware of him.
I wonder if Vente would consider another crack at Scottish Football now we have a better team. He might be looking at Cadden whipping in excellent crosses every week and fancy his chances of scoring a load. He could be like a new signing replacing Gayle and taking the pressure off Boyle a bit who will be a year older
Rangers will not see us as a threat. Not in a million years will they consider any of us below them as such. They'll do what they always do and sign £5/6/7m worth of players for their new manager and push for the title even if they're so far off Celtic still. To split the Old Firm you need about 75 points and that still relies on Rangers being the worst version of themselves that season, the rest of us aren't getting that amount. The worst Celtic team of the last 15 years still finished 14 points ahead of arguably the best Hibs team of the same period.
maybe, maybe, but it’s not stopped Rangers or Celtic taking our best players in the past, despite their protestations that the standard of the league makes it hard for them in Europe. They love being much better than everyone else in the league and they both LOVE proving it by hoovering up the best SPFL players for fun, when they can. Particularly if the can unsettle the player and then lowball us.
we did a great job of resisting it with SJM, we just don’t have the same power over the fate of Triantus.
I think Vente has more or less indicated he wants to move and with his contract situation is probably best for all parties , with him doing well we will hopefully make a tidy profit . It will all be needed as we don’t know what’s happening with Myko, Boyle , Gayle and Youan yet?
Goals per minute is always a fairly misleading stat imo.
It’s always trotted out when someone hasn’t scored a particularly impressive amount of goals. The stat obviously doesn’t tell us why they haven’t scored a very impressive amount. For example, if McKirdy has a record like that, you’d expect him to have more than 34 in 131 in that league. Ultimately his goals per minute is like that because he spent so much time as a League Two sub striker, starting 76 and being subbed on in 55. Compare that to Watkins who had 21 goals in 68 games and started 55 while being subbed on in 13 then you start to see more of a picture.
Dwight Gayle for example has a better goals to minute ratio than Boyle this season in the league. He hasn’t been better or more productive than Boyle though.
Don't disagree that it won't stop them taking a Triantis if they want to, and while I would normally say that the days of the Glasgow two hoovering up the talent in the league has sorta died off, but I think Rangers have been etching closer to getting back to that with the likes of Barron, Cameron, Souttar, Wright etc.
Triantis I think would be a good signing for them sadly.
Good players can come from anywhere but it's still relevant to consider the level they're playing at when you're watching YouTube reels. McKirdy was just a recent example of a signing from League Two that is fresh in the mind. It's easy for Donegal to get excited. As my Granny would have said, Ca' Canny.
The numbers were simply presented without comment to conplement the basic goals per game numbers presented.
In fact, your post strengthens my argument that to get a clearer picture of a player, you really have to drill further into what they are doing rather than simply making a judgement based on where they play or their top level stats.
Without a doubt, had Watkins being playing in EFL2 now and been linked to us, their would be numerous posts on this thread dismissing him due to where he plays and citing McKirdy as an example.
Forgot about Hoilett in fairness , was meaning more on our attacking options which could be the area we see the biggest change too if we don’t retain some ..
Though your right about Miller and Rocky in the defence who would be a big miss
Kwon , Triantis in midfield and Triantis would be another big miss ..
There’s a few players we have while not impossible but it will be hard to find suitable replacements I think if they leave or we can’t get them back .
Jamie McGrath available for selection for Aberdeen tomorrow. Wasn't expecting to see him in and around the Aberdeen squad before the end of the season and before joining Hibs.
If he signed an extension then yes, but the club and playerboth keen to part ways by what's been said on each side lately. No point losing someone at the end of next season we forked out good cash on for nothing. Especially on the back of a good season he's had for a diddy Dutch team. He will get cashed in this summer.
If McGrath has a stormer today does he play next week. That he has to be a pretty strange position for a player in that scenario.
What’s been verdict on Allan Campbell’s spell at Dundee Utd? I noticed he was an unused sub against St Johnstone was hooked before the hour mark against Hearts.
There was a lot of teeth gnashing on here that we didn’t sign him in January, should be in for him in the summer?
