I think there were quite a few clubs interested in him before he got injured . How good is he ? I don’t know but he appears to be on Sevco’s radar , probably because his contract is near out ..

    https://the72.co.uk/2025/02/19/burnl...st-kwame-poku/

The other one that’s interesting is Boyd in the Sun says Sevco must do everything they can to get out of signing Cortes who they have on loan with an obligation to buy for around £3 mill …

I’d love it if they had to pay £3mill for a player they don’t want 😆
Thay have previous for not reading the fine print too closely lol. If Boyd is saying that publicly then I suspect they know privately they can't get out of it.

Talk of Ralston is making me think of why would we change to a back 4 when a back 3 is our strongest and most balanced system with these players.

Rocky has never looked comfortable in a back 4 and I’m yet to be convinced of Iredale as a LB or Miller/Cadden as a RB.

I wonder if we are considering changing formation. But then I think why giving the run we are on just now.

Got to say I’m a big Liam scales admirer, think he’s perfect kind of cb for our shape, didn’t always rate him though. Still hold out hope we can get pleguezelo if Plymouth go down. Think that’s realistic. Or maybe not 😬
I'd Genuienly rather Sean Ohanlon than Liam Scales.

Good grief, I'd no idea lol, yet another calamitous decision by them. Seriously, if we can build on what we currently have and that's where Sevco are at there isn't a reason in the world why we can't finish second next year.
There is too many moving parts, on our own side even, to consider that a possibility. For example does Rocky stay? Has Gayle got another season? Is Boyle Australia bound? Is there a remote possibility of getting Triantis back?

Not being able to keep a decent team together is an age old hibs problem.

Even considering that the recruitment team knows what they are doing, you have to allow for the new players to bed in. For a dynamic anything close to the current one to be found.

Rightly, we'll be looking to secure top six as soon as possible and THEN seeing how far we can go.

And all this went without saying that typically teams in Europe struggle to maintain their league form while competing on the big stage.

    2nd? Crazy talk.

Well to be fair it's more of a reflection on how poor a state Sevco are in financially as opposed to what we are doing. Given their resources they should be out of sight from us but they aren't...
League table says they are, even now … the rangers have been pretty crap, yet are still not catchable now (oh, but I do like to dream it so, but money talks, as they find out in the Champions League time after time too) … celtic and the rangers will always generate more cash than all the other Scottish clubs, from glory hunter appeal … and similarly, there are European teams out of sight from them.

If we get into europe I would expect we may have to switch formations to suit certain ties, that along with having a substantial pool of players to play midweek and weekend schedules. I know europe could be over quickly depending our luck of the draw but I would hope we are making signings with the thought of competing in europe regularly.

I was thinking on Saturday… that if we’d persisted with these players in a 433 all season and especially with Myko as a single central striker… Gray would be about 4 months gone, we’d be in the bottom 2, we’d be tearing strips off one another, desperately looking forward to the summer rebuild and pondering whether we first need to punt Gray’s successor.

I actually think we might be a bit complacent about what might lie ahead. Sweeping changes to the team (maybe enforced by losing players whose contracts are coming to an end), a change to a formation that doesn’t suit our players and I could see us hurtling backwards as quickly as we’ve recently progressed.

We should really value what we’ve got right now imo.

I’d have thought a year ago, seen Celtic quite a bit with him there, comfortable on ball always looking forward, alert. Aye he’s had some shoddy moments for sheep and Celtic but I really rate him as a modern cb, but I do understand folks pre conceptions of the player he was. I’m not even sure why there was chat about him just seen him mentioned and thought I’d give an opinion the player.

I know we just humped them 4-0 but, I think Josh Mulligan could be a good potential addition, young, played a good number of games at the top level and been one of Dundee's better players in the last 2-3 years.
Mulligan would be a very good signing, versatile and scope for further improvement in a decent side.

Can’t see Megwa being a first team regular
He got Thistle's young player of the year however the replies on the twitter post where less than complimentary, think he may have won by default

At only 22 and out of contract, its one of the lower risk signings.

    Definitely worth a punt imo.

Think he had plenty of the ball for them but didn’t really do anything with it.

Like you say though, out of contract so could be a smart addition to the squad if we make the group stages.

I thought he made some really good runs with and without the ball and recovered it from Triantis a couple of times.

Edit: Looks like he's a Dundee youth product so he will require a development fee despite being out of contract.

Can't we just do what Rangers do and drag their feet not pay anything for months?

We probably would if it can't be agreed between the clubs.

I wasn't aware Liam Scales had ever escaped from Ryan Porteous's back pocket.

I think whatever happens this window, taking numbers we might need for group euro stages in to account, it has been shown how much more can be coached into a side by reducing a huge squad down to 2 eleven's. Malky Mackay deserves huge credit for keeping the right players and trimming us down very quickly. Good football man, glad to have him at the club. And long may that be the case.

Looks like a lot of dribbling and little end product.

Out of contract but would be due Dundee a development fee northwards of £500k.
