I genuinely wish they’d just **** off. Their TIFO was good yesterday but other than that, they were Block Silent for most of yesterday and were out sung by the Hearts equivalent twats in black.
I think the atmosphere has gone backwards since they appeared.

There's now 3 VERY large Block 7 graffiti murals outside the stadium. One on a tenement wall and 2 on the graveyard wall.....one quicte a way down St Clair Street. They are not exactly hiding the fact that they are responsible. They must think we're in Buenos Aries or Athens or such like. I can not understand why the club gives them the time of day with that, on top of all the previous issues.

They weren’t silent and they weren’t outsung by Hearts fans. Only heard the Hearts fans are they scored and were celebrating like they were top of the league and winning against a pretty average Hibs team they thought they were going score plenty past but only had 2 shots on target.
The atmosphere has been decent and without them the stadium would be really quiet at smaller games.
If they could just avoid the fighting outside the stadium and be a little more unique that would make more fans tolerate them.

You think? I was quite near them in the East and can only ever really hear the drum. Are some of them shy? Do they just sing really quietly? Smaller numbers of fans tend to make much more of a noise in the South.

I wouldn't say they were silent, but they were outsung by the Hearts fans. That's just the way it seems to go though. It's the same when we go to Tynecastle, our end is much louder than the other 3 home stands.

It certainly looked like they had been told they didn’t have permission to use the FF upper as the poor stewards were trying to stop them getting up the stairs from the lower when we were going up.
They were just pushing past the stewards and the one female steward who was on the stairs was getting a really hard time from them as she tried unsuccessfully to stop them pushing her out the way. Most were kids / teenagers but one was an adult who had his face fully covered with a mask.

Admittedly, I sit in the main stand and nearer the away end so I'm likely to be able to hear the away fans more but that being said, if they are signing, it can't be heard 80 yards away. Even in the other games we've played, those around me can barely hear them.
They've been given that area by the club on the proviso that they create an atmosphere. They aren't.
Instead they're wandering about stadiums wearing balaclavas, graffitiing the proximity of our stadium, kicking people out of their seats at away games, sticking stickers about Ibrox celebrating the Ibrox disaster and fighting other groups of balaclavad wee phannies.
They offer zero value and are a complete embarrasment.

is that their or anyone’s remit? If we have deferred creating an atmosphere to one designated group that’s your problem right there.
In the old East it was organic. Mainly the east that instigated stuff generally led by bams under the gantry but I’ve never heard such bleating about groups creating or not creating atmosphere. It’s down to all of us. Far too easy as Alexander Oneal sang to criticise. But ask ourselves what are we doing?
that said I don’t buy into the identikit chants, uniform and behaviours but at least they are trying. Dont see others taking up the mantle. How did it come to this? It’s like part of our identify has been left int he past. Quite possible either the mojo cause by the merry go round of players and managers.

I agree that it was better when we never had anyone taking up the mantler. Now the east seems to be waiting for them to start it. Tbf the east started up themselves on Sunday a couple of times as B7 were that quiet.

Loads of European teams do this, displays are closer to the pitch and very seldom smoke goes into the stands, stops fannies bringing their own. As for the asthma sufferers I think its better the club organises these things then you will get less illegal 5hit in the stadiums. It works. Also, folk are warned beforehand.

My understanding too. Not to mention the danger created by acrid smoke and poor visibility. If that picture represents what Aberdeen have in mind serious question have to be asked about their commitment to fan safety. I suspect what they actually have in ind are these daft flame machines we see at games, including our first game at ER this season. I like them about as much as I like the infernal drum but at least they are safer than huge amounts of smoke.

I must admit I'm more on the Block 7 are wee f****S however not one person can knock the tifo at the weekend. It should be allowed and more often as I feel it helps the fans engage more and hopefully help give the players a lift. Also adds a positive dynamic to the stadium and let's be honest loads of teams do it now.

First game in FF today and got an insight on them. Pre kickoff 3 wee guys, maybe not even in their teens using a pen knife to scrape some unintelligible graffiti on a door in the toilets. Older teen came in and basically gave them coaching on where they should and shouldn’t be doing vandalism. It’s a cult like setup, it’s something we should be hunting out our club. I did inform a steward of what I saw and pointed out the three of them. No idea if anything got done.

Remember 18 months ago he said he was going to be taking on the establishment. It was said at an AST event.
Was putting himself on the league fixtures committee as he was fed up (or we are) of being sent to Dingwall midweek in the middle of winter. He also said he'd be raising the perception decisions we're not going our way in a law of averages way...
Since then, we've been sent to Dingwall at Halloween midweek, have had probably less of a crack of the whip decisions wise...
This year's event he tells us he thinks we've ended up worse off because we complained...
Re his ego and indulgence of certain groups if he wasn't happy today the hand that feeds was always going to be bitten...if he couldn't foresee that then he's in the wrong job

Bit more too it than that, their behaviour especially at away games has been well documented and people have the right to go to an away game and not be bullied out of their seat (and that has happened regularly).
Sort out stuff like that and they are a very welcome addition to the club.

They also had slightly less enthusiastic chants of “Malky, Malky GTF” and “Sack The Board” after the Kensall chant.
It’s got to start somewhere so good on them, they are only vocalising the feelings of the majority of the support and making Kensall uncomfortable is a good thing although he’ll probably have a cry to the EEN about it or something.
My 12yo daughter bought a pack of their stickers yesterday outside the FF and the 3 lads couldn’t have been nicer.
They’ve grown on me a wee bit but they still need to try and connect with the wider support and not think because they’re more vocal it makes them bigger or better supporters.
They can start by remembering to put the flags down when the play is at the FF end of the ground…. Thanks 😉

They would have to up the sartorial stakes greatly.
If you behaved impeccably throughout your youth, well good on you, but I’d venture to suggest that might have been your loss.
I grew up in the era of open terraces. My later teenage years were deeply influenced by the new wave music and the politics of the likes of the Jam and the Clash.
There is no way I'd have been parading around like a reject from Hitler youth and annoying/intimidating adult Hibs fans at away games.
I had lots of fun and wasn't always saintly, but our high jinks and japes were not at other Hibs fans expense.

They're a stain on the club. Think they're above other supporters at away games, that stupid drum and the whole covering your face (sorry but if you are covering your face, it's clearly as you're not going to behave like a normal human being)
Atmosphere is no better than it was before they became a thing. Games were better before them.

Block7 get a lot of criticism and some of it is fully deserved.
Yesterday we were stood right beside them and when they first came in with the drum I thought we would need to move seats - but we had a good laugh with them and thought they helped to create a really good atmosphere so fair play to them.

Brilliant atmosphere at Pittodrie yesterday with much of it initiated by B7 including a mixture of traditional Hibs classics and newer stuff. I've still got the new version of "sheep ****ging *******s" stuck in my head :greengrin
We were a few rows behind them so had a close up view of them and sure I spied the mythical "Fagin" figure amongst them , thirty years older than them and equally identifiable by not being totally dressed in black.
Would never condone times when they have embarrassed the Club and wouldn't have wanted to be standing beside them, but can't deny they added to yesterdays atmosphere.

Hard agree. The away performances are enhanced by the greater positivity (a lot of that down to the vibe created by Block seven) of the away support, which is devoid of the habitual moaners at the home games. Many at ER seem to just want to vent their spleen about life in general, and are too cheap to splash out on therapy.

They had a police escort to the ground - they were walked in surrounded by police. At the end of the game there was an incident in the home ultras inside the ground. We wondered if they were being kept in as they suddenly started trying to run at/get past a fair number of stewards and police in their bit of the home end. Got messy.

I’d imagine a hell of a lot more than what has happened this season anyway, especially considering all that has gone before.
This board has been shambolic for our club. They should not be forgiven because of this 10 game spell. The same ten game spell with only one loss and yet our club has only managed to get into the top six.
That is not anywhere near acceptable for this club. And it all comes from the shambles laid onto the latest manager by the charlatans in charge.
Football moves fast, and we are certainly enjoying a good spell but see Aberdeen to check just how fast it can all change again.
Lets take stock at the end of the season, and then perhaps again at the end of the next season.
If this board, CEO, and chariman can oversee some relative sustained success for a change, then they can at last point to something worthwhile in their time here.
As it stands, there’s not a lot to shout about.

I can't remember anyone being excited about any of the summer signings, can you?

Goodness me, time you lightened up.

What's the story with "twist and shout", couldn't make out if it was for as player but by Christ it looked like they were enjoying themselves at the end of the game.

How dare they enjoy themselves at football? Call themselves proper fans? REAL Hibs fans come on here to moan incessantly at the antics of youth.

Ha, I get the sarcasm, fans are fickle and sometimes not always for good reason.
But yeah, quite enjoyed the choreographed limbs to twist & shout. Think the young vlogger, Daniel, caught some towards the end of his video.

Am I understanding correctly, anyone wanting to praise the board ,CEO and chairman should wait until the end of the season? Does the same apply for criticism of them?
Sounds about right. Turn your sign upside down without delay in criticism, wait two seasons for any praise.

It would take a lot more than doubling our 2019 budget to enable us to field a team of £1m players.
It would take a lot more than doubling our 2019 budget to enable us to field a team of £1m players.
Trying not to dwell on this however ... according to Transfermarkt we had 5 players valued at around £1m or more in the squad season 20/21; Porto, Doig, Jackson Irvine, Boyle and Nisbet.
Given the target was to double the player budget in 3 years and this is now 5 (give a bit of leeway for covid) since that statement perhaps my original million pound players all over the park wasn't so unreasonable.
We currently have 2 in the squad. One, Miko a loan, were not sure if he's good enough - even on the odd occasion he's available and the other in apparently in France sussing out a move!
A long way off the vision we were sold.
Pete70
14-01-2025, 11:38 AM
Playing budget and transfer budget are not quite the same thing though. I’m sure most, if not all the players in this seasons squad will be earning more than those in 20/21 did.

Any idea where they are located today?
At it once again tonight.
Up the RA and f@@k the Queen lyrics added to songs.
Palestinian flags being flown
Cups and a vape thrown in the first half.
A few on the pitch when they we scored.
Dhanda hit with a disposable vape when he scored.
All this in light of the statement we issued on Monday. These doughnuts are going to get us into bother with their antics and are going to make it very difficult for us to call out other teams fans behaviour if they can’t actually behave themselves.
Embarrassing stuff to be honest. They need to sort themselves out quickly. This won’t have went unnoticed by the club this evening.

I like how it used to be that anyone could start a song - bellow out a “Weeeeee arrrrrre…” or similar and guaranteed someone would join in. With a repetitive thud thud from both home and away fans there’s just no chance of that spreading as quickly as it done. Was far more equitable.

In the rear of S43 where most of these songs started and were taken up by many, there are young kids 5-8 year old with kiddie I pads and ear mufflers to deaden sound sitting taking no interest in the game. I cannot for the life of me understand why their mums and/or dads get tickets for them there. If concern for the wee ones surely a ticket nearer the corners or front would be better.
I'm delighted that these kids are coming but feel the loss of the designated family area has had an effect on the atmosphere building in this and possibly other areas

When I was in my teens, there was a song about Michael Fagan regularly sung by the younger Hibs Fans on the East Terrace ('The sky is blue, the grass is green...'). That wasn't even the worst of the songs on the go at the time.
While I'm not keen on a lot of their choices of songs, I can't help but think it's just the latest incarnation of young fans trying to be a bit 'edgy'.

I don’t understand why we have different rules for different parts of the same stand, block 7 can have massive flags, drums, drum sticks, openly smoke, vape and hold pyro right in front of the stewards but that’s all ok, they seem to have their own special stewards.
Yesterday a kid in front of me going into the FF upper was refused entry with a little flag because it had a small pole for him to hold it, makes no sense, even if they have something as simple as a fruit shoot drink they are stopped!

I agree, young men being young men.
The youth are revolting, they've always been revolting
Desperate to be noticed like every generation at the football since the late 60's.
The present lot are pretty tame ... at the moment and the abuse they get on here is disproportionate.
We could do with another 1000 of them to help fill the masses of empty green seats.

No idea as the drum just drowns them out. All I could hear was the Liverpool Luis Diaz lyrics - in my head.
The acoustics of our stadium doesn’t help but the incessant drumming stops other fans knowing what is even being sung.
