Rangers are levels above us. That doesn’t mean we should be resigned to writing these games off, but it does entail that results like this will happen, and it’s really not worth bashing the team for it. They’re much better than us.

The rangers are improving .. so are we .. we will never close the gap .. but we can compete sometimes .. that’s where we need to be .. like 2016. I think we’ll get there.

I'm sitting at the front of the West and Joe played a ball to Tavares 10 mins ago. Tavares started to make a run so Joe played the ball through, but Tavares stopped his run, so the ball ran out of play.

Joe just looked totally deflated and demoralised. Newell was by no means our worst player and he gets subbed.

Some of our players are just looking at each other, bemused. Guys round about me saying they look clueless.

It's a long way back tonight, but for the first time with the money spent Montgomery is struggling now.

I want to believe he can make it work but I just can't see it. There's only one team in this league with the quality of player to play 4-4-2 and guess what... They don't. They play 4-3-3.

The difference in quality and amount of money it would take to make this work consistently against the majority of teams in the league is way beyond what Foley and co. will ever put in. We need to start setting up competitively. We've had a good transfer window so far but we need to fix the defence and keeper situation. As it stands we're joint 2nd bottom for goals against.

Would agree with this, Monty trying his A league blueprint which has been found out by every team we play against. We need to get McInnes in asap, proper manager who can get his team playing to their potential.

Some valid questions and criticism for Montgomery. At the same time what a poor collection of individuals we have masquerading as a squad. So many you can make a case for on paper but the reality is they don’t live up to how good they should be in theory.

We should be challenging for third pretty much every year. There will be a few years when we won't but we should consistently be challenging for third and getting into Europe. Our budget and set up should easily allow that to happen.
