I can’t help feeling that Maloney’s high, 90 mile an hour press is fine for so long. Eventually fatigue sets in and we can’t keep going. We lose the ball too easily give too many fouls away and pick up more injuries. They’re looking the more likely to score this half.

But if we develop the fitness levels and squad depth to support it we’ll be superb to watch.

Worried before the game but they played their socks off there, show that commitment every game and I'll be happy. Dabrowski superb as was Porteous and Newell, can't wait to see what a couple of the other new boys bring to the team.

Dabrowski the hero..but a performance full of character all over. Porto, Lewis, the whole midfield all grafting even under pressure.

We need to improve in creating and taking chances. The lack of conviction in front of goal is painful as we do get decent deliveries into the box.

Man of the Match Kev. Something needs to change up front. It's all far too hopeful and lacking in quality.

Porteous' finished strong. Stevenson done what he had to do but got lucky. Nisbet worked hard but never looked like scoring. Mueller was disappointing. Looks comfortable on the ball but far too slow.

Newell was class. Best player at Hibs by a country mile.

Drey Wright will never be the answer.

Good first 30. We struggled after that for a large part. Came on strong at the end and Campbell should have won it.


One thing we looked very jaded at times in the 2nd half. We really needed an out ball upfront and a bit of pace to get in behind them.

Joe Newell, Porteous and Dabrowski were our best 3 by a distance imo.

Gutted we didn’t get that winner at the end but much better performance and commitment from the team. I thought keeper, defence and midfield did well but need much more from the forward players (creating, holding the ball up, getting shots away). Plenty positives to take though and good to see us playing as a team again. Hopefully the new guys will add a bit of spark up top, along with Doidge and Nisbet getting their levels up again. GGTTH

My annoyance is his continued belief in trying to pass the ball (or try and curl) it into the corner when he should shoot. He did score a very good goal like that previously
And seems to persist with it. He needs to add variation to his shooting. Chip, side foot, power, all things I think he can achieve. Just needs to do it. Frustrates me as an ex striker myself.😁

I really enjoyed that performance, much more like it! I actually thought Nisbet and Mueller were linking up well. Newell was outstanding, loved his energy in there. Defence to a man were brilliant.

Few minor gripes, what does Drey Wright bring? I counted 3/4 times where he gave the ball away and he looks petrified every time he actually manages to control it. Doidge looks short on confidence, he isn’t holding the ball up at the moment. I would say the ref’s have done a number on him however, as he seems nervous to try to properly win headers now, in fear of giving away a free kick.

We played well, penalty would have been harsh since it was hit at him from very close and his arms were in the centre of his body. The only negative for me was Drey Wright, I don't know what hes doing in training but he obviously can't recreate it in games.

Totally agree. Nisbet was really good tonight. Great to see him back chasing things down again. He's putting the effort in again and I'll never fault a player for that.

Were there a few balls that he should have controlled or passes he could have made? Sure, but he's looking more and more like the Nisbet of old the past few weeks and I'm buzzing for that.

Our midfield and lack of forward passing can be so frustrating at times - looks like Newell could miss a game or so if he’s done something to his knee.

I really enjoyed that performance, much more like it! I actually thought Nisbet and Mueller were linking up well. Newell was outstanding, loved his energy in there. Defence to a man were brilliant.

Few minor gripes, what does Drey Wright bring? I counted 3/4 times where he gave the ball away and he looks petrified every time he actually manages to control it. Doidge looks short on confidence, he isn’t holding the ball up at the moment. I would say the ref’s have done a number on him however, as he seems nervous to try to properly win headers now, in fear of giving away a free kick.

Nisbet for me the nite was VG in a team performance much better than I anticipated, Mueller is gonna come good soon, well pleased with that display, a TOP midfielder in there though would imo put us outta sight of that oppo.

If Maloney has the team playing like that most weeks we'll win more games than we lose, it's going to be exciting second half of the season anyway.

New signings look good, definite lapses in communication and you can see we're still learning.

Great first half, scrappy second half. Both teams rode their luck at times.

Sky Sports commentary was helluva bias, though (in my opinion) Jack Ross was definitely enjoying Hibs performance, and winding up McCann and Boyd.

Rocky's header was actually blocked by defender's arm but it happened so quickly you can hardly see it. Can't even freeze frame it when the ball makes contact because 1 frame is just before it and the next is just after. Under current rules it is a clear penalty, arm is up and it blocked a shot on target. Doesn't matter that it was accidental.

Picture quality is poor as I don't have Sky Sports in HD. Someone with HD and a better camera than mine could probably get better quality.

The Hibs dislike is nothing new. Any chance they get criticise they will despite overlooking similar things at other clubs. It’s run by a bunch of Hearts, Aberdeen and old firm fans, so no surprise really. What has always surprised me is that Allan Preston is allowed on the impartial BBC as a pundit. Is he not a football agent? How can you possibly say someone is impartial when they have a vested interest in talking up certain players?

One thing i ll say , at least this team have came out fighting in both derbies. Listening it In the car on the way home. From the free kick in the box near the end Porteous handles the ball should have been a penalty but Porteous conned the referee making out the ball hit him in the face. Couldn't see that from the Famous Five upper but Gordon having a right go. And English having a pop at Maloney for saying it was a good game and that we had chances.
